Our Beautiful World

So my photo was taken on our early morning walk along the beach this week - of the tiny balls of sand the crab roll out of their holes, the beach is a mass of them, 1000's and 1000's.  After each tide they're busy at it again, rolling little balls of sand into patterns

in this second photo you can see a sandball in the mouth of the hole

this is one of the sand crabs - he's one of the larger ones, uses the hole next to him
can you see the lighter patches on the sand ...that's where the crabs haven't been busy

This is Yeppoon Beach along the central Queensland coast of eastern Australia.
Thanks for taking a peek  Robyn

  1. That is quite awesome! And I'm sure the crabs think it's tedious.

  3. Great shot Robyn! I used to love running through the balls and squashing them when I was young...being older I now appreciate the work the crabs put into them.

  5. Hello Robyn, these are very interesting pictures about the crabs life. I haven't seen this before, so busy crabs...

  6. I'm always amazed by those tiny creatures! Have seen them and their work on our beaches too. Love that you chose this as your take on the word repetition. Because it is an endless repetition of rolling those balls after every tide... plus it is an endless repetition of little sand balls on the beach too! Thank you for joining us at OBW! Hugs
