What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday??

Well I'm having a very quiet week - just me and the two cats with hubby working away but I have made some progress with the sorting and packing of my craft room - had a very big re-organisation of my ribbon stash...oh boy I've got far tooooo much - hopefully gd Sophie will like wearing ribbons in
her hair when she's older. My desk is pretty tidy today - I mostly finished this card yesterday and just need a sentiment today....that's me practicing on my workpad there to see how they ink and print.  Also on my desk my morning coffee and empty water glass. A Christmas card I just need to put together, And I'm gathering more stamps for the next one.  On the right is my storage system for my cling stamps...these are my Christmas ones. I place them in A5 clear envelope and then into this fridge storage unit that is just the right size for the plastic envelopes...I can flick through them quickly so I have moved all my cling stamps out of arch lever folders now.  Behind that I'm working on a system to store my dies.  If you're new to this desk photo sharing - please pop over to our hostess Julia's blog and find out how you can join in...it's addictive and you'll be amazed and inspired by some fabulous friendly crafters. Do hope you are enjoying your week and thanks to everyone who visited last week, Cheers

  1. Love your jars of ribbons - I think we all get distracted by the pretty colours and buy far more than we need... what fun!! Helen 2

  2. I've got a large box full of ribbons and lace too.....they just call to me in the shop! 'Yoohoo, Lunch Lady Jan, you know you need some more of us.....!'
Hope the packing continues to go well :-)

  3. I love ribbons too but I have yet to find a good way to store them as they seem to get loose and end up all over the place.
    Have a happy week

  5. I'm feeling so at home at yours today with your jars full of ribbons....except mine are shut away in cupboards while the building work is being done. Lexi has just decided that she wanted ribbons for her hair so I sorted her some out at the weekend :-)

  7. Gorgeous jars of ribbons - they look so good.
Nice way to organise your stamps - I have yet to fish my "C" ones out and use them. Maybe in a week or two?

  8. Hi Robyn, what are we like with ribbon? I swear we are all a pushover for the stuff. Like your stamp storage- might have a look at doing that with my Christmas stamps. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #11 xxx

  10. Now that is a clever stamp storage idea, I like the idea of flicking through them quickly. Mine are all in a box which keeps them tidy but rather than sorted. Have a lovely week.

I was looking at your stamps ( I am always losing mine - I tried puting them in a folder but it was too heavy - I lobve how your are stored , so I think thats how I will store mine - thanks for the inspiration :) Have a great week., Soojay 14

  12. That is just the sweetest card! I like the stamp storage - mine are all muddled, but I like the idea of flicking through them quickly - much easier to manage! Storing dies are a real problem too - I started putting them in the Marianne magnetic storage folders, but they don't hold many and they are expensive (and my dies collection is growing rapidly!), so I am going to have to rethink that one! Hope you have a great week,

  13. Ah ribbons..I too have miles and miles of them. And never the right piece! I love your stamp storage, I think its the way I'm going, but with baggies not plastic sleeves....its just a case of doing it now! I'm sort of horrified but not surprised that you''re going towards Christmas stamps...argh it's the long lead up! Everything looks calm Robyn...I hope you're Ok without hubyy!

  14. I am intrigued by your stamp storage... I don't need that kind of system, not yet, but it looks practical. A Christmas card you HAVE to get done now? Well, I guess all of us have some obsessions... Happy woyww:)

  15. I would so totally dump those ribbon jars and play in them if that was my system... :) I love how free they look. ( I started winding mine and I really got tired of doing that) ( so I do have one big vintage suitcase that turned into a dump site for when I haul home grab bags) and the truth is I dont get into it to dig, I look through the rolled ones. but, what I like about your jars is they are see through so at least you get the idea when you look at them you could use ribbon if you wanted to. ( kwim?) I am a outta sight out of mind person. ~Stacy #48

  16. Wow you're getting organised Robyn. Those ribbons look so pretty in jars. I like the system you've got your Christmas stamps. All my Christmas stuff is one big plastic box all together and I have to root through to find anything. Happy woyww Barb#29 xx

  17. Hi Robyn, Love your ribbons in the jars.

You sure are organised to be doing Christmas cards. I haven't made christmas cards for a few years. Instead I have bought ones for charity. Mind you I cut right back with the number I posted last year, as postage is too expensive. I have some Christmas stash, so might drag it out and see if I am moved to make a few.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  18. Ah.... the big organization time. I think crafters secretly like organization almost as much as the craft! I know I do. I'm seeing more and more people put their cling stamps in those clear pocket envelopes and standing them up like that. I wish there was covered container they could fit into like that. Too much dust around here to do that. I love your ribbons in the jars, they look so pretty and decorative. Judy #51

  19. I think we all fall prey to the pretty ribbons, but they look great in the jars.

  20. Love the jars of ribbon, you can never have enough really. Actually it doesn't seem to matter how much you have you never seem to have the right colour when you need it or that's what happens to me! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 28

  22. Wow -- very neat and tidy. The ribbon jars look beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration --- I'm going to do that. :) The practice stamping that you did would make fabulous background paper for art journalling.....

  23. Interesting your storage of your stamps there, Robyn, mm sound good but not sure can justify the cost of all the A5 folders that I would need, esp when said storage now being used wasn't free.
Love the ribbon jars too they look fab, Happy WOYWW, thanks for popping over, Shaz in Oz.x #20

  24. The kitties are such good company when you're on your own for a while, aren't they! We have 2 as well. Nice to see you being so organised and having a tidy up - it all looks great and your ribbons are so pretty! Thank you for your lovely comment and yes, Kermit has been quite well behaved today lol! Saw the oncologist and had blood taken in preparation for tomorrow's treatment. I shan't finish my projects before then, but at least I managed to do a bit more today, and hopefully tomorrow a.m. as well so at least I've made some headway.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
