Happy BIrthday

Here today I have a male card for the Watercooler Wednesday WWC 188 - Helen's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge  --- mostly because I chose to use blues and greens not pretty colours for my Distress Ink background...and the stencil design led me to think of gears... so out came some wooden elements that I coloured with ink and clear embossed. The sentiment stamp has a distressed finish when inked but looked a bit lost so I roughly cut around it and gave it a green layer and attached with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday

Double 'D' challenge this fortnight is 'Pop' a Wheelie ..... so I chose to die cut a bicycle and colour the frame with markers and silver gel pen.  Then I die cut a heap of mini flowers which I arranged to flow out of the basket.  I found an oval die cut in my stash and used the negative as a frame - under this I put a piece of designer paper and stamped on my sentiment.  I added a yellow frame to my tall card and used an orange card.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Happy Birthday

Sometimes you start out making a card with an idea in mind and then by the end of it all, it turns out so different... and that's how this card evolved.   Wasn't planning of doing any fussy cutting when I stamped my image and used Distress Oxides to water colour it.  I die cut the white panel with my painted image and it looked plain as... so I picked purple from the small flowers to add my dry embossed background and the light purple panel from an experiment I did with swiped glue and ink.  Then to finish I settled on this stamped sentiment of red, that I found in my stash - too big so I placed it sideways and that was just right - I think.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday challenge WWC18- Marsha's Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge, Simon Says Monday challenge - Stamp It On ( with their Stamptember Stamping Party), Also Stamplorations - Theme and Sketch challenge - Summer Vacation - Stamps and Anything Goes, and because I've used a Stamploration stamp I am joining in their Never Ending Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Happy Birthday

The visit with my lovely mum is over - she's back down south to the cold weather and I'm back to business at my desk.... today I'm joining in with challenges from Just Add Ink #424 - Texture and Shopping Our Stash SOS#369 -Quit buggin' me!
I just love how my background circle turned out.... created with Brushos and misting with medium amount of water and when that was totally dry ran it through the Cuttlebug with this cool flower and butterfly EF.  Then I swiped the raised embossing with Versamark and glitttery gold EP (Egyptian Gold) - it's like a rich textured brocade. ... finally die cut my circle.
I decided to die cut a butterfly in glitter gold and removed a few of the tiny wing pieces and backed that shape with gold yellow card.... I added some glitter glue to the yellow bits.
to finish I scored a frame around the card front, added a matching card strip and used foam tape to attached my circle, butterfly and stamped sentiment.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your week

Two cards featuring Diamond Shapes

Well again I'm joining in the fun at Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge #8 - Geometric.  So this month I decided to use a stamp featuring a Diamond shape pattern on a Birthday card and a Fathers' Day card.
For my first card I stamped the diamond pattern with Versamark and heat embossed it with Pearl Gold EP.  Then I sponged Distress Inks over the stamping.  I stamped two sentiments on my card panel and to finish added my stamped and DI watercoloured 'dancer', fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

For my second card I stamped the Diamond pattern in black and cut them out individually and  sponged on Distress Oxides to colour them.  I arranged them in a border on the edge of a Distress Inked panel, drawing a black marker line frame to connect them.  Then I stamped my tool box, used Distress Ink to watercolour it and rough fussy cut it out.  To finish I mounted the panel on a blue card and stamped on my sentiment.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend...

Happy Birthday

A little more playing about with stencils and ink for the CAS Mix Up August challenge - Stencil Monoprint.   I used my starburst stencil with Distress Oxide ink.... first I coloured my card strip with Peacock Feather DO and then inked the stencil with Wilted Violet - a light water mist and onto my strip.... I love how it turned out.  I used a die cut 'happy' as a template to fussy cut a shadow in white card and brayered it with the purple ink, then used foam tape to lift the white 'happy'.  To finish I stamped and embossed my 'birthday' sentiment in black. My elements are stencil monoprint, stamping, heat embossing, die cuts and fussy cutting. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Birthday Wishes

I squeezed in some quiet time to watercolour this card today... trying to achieve a 'Glow' for the Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge... I'm happy but think I'll need to practice.  I used Distress Inks to watercolour my stamped image and then a curved stitched die to cut my panel. Then stamped on my sentiment and framed the panel with DP and dusky pink card.  I am also joining in the fun at Shopping Our Stash challenge #367 - Leaf it to me, and Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Happy Birthday

My birth stone is the beautiful blue sapphire.... which is the inspiration for a new challenge over at Power Poppy - Creative Confetti.  I stamped my image with grey ink and embossed with White Pearl EP then used Distress Oxides to watercolour.  Then I stamped and silver embossed my sentiment and used a stitched die to form my label.  I used a corner die, cutting it twice on opposite corners to create my background panel and strategically attached the two elements to cover the center where the die didn't cut.  To finish I added a few blue gems just like sparkly sapphires.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Have a Great Day

Hubby's birthday in a few weeks and he loves his golf so I'm happy to be a head of myself and have his card made already.  I coloured my stamped image with markers and silver gel pen and framed it with sparkly silver card. I teamed it up with a great background piece - very golfy the colours and diamond pattern and to finish added my stamped sentiment to a red strip of card.  I am playing along with The Male Room challenge #91-- Birthday, where they are celebrating their 5th Birthday... congratulations Design Team great effort and lots of inspiration.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday

An interesting technique for the CAS Mix Up challenge this month.... Stencil Monoprint, so I've been playing about with stencils.  I made this background with Distress Oxides on glossy photographic paper.... it works really well because the ink dries quickly.  I inked up the stencil with wild honey, twisted citron and lucky clover, a bit of water misting and turned it onto the gloss card... using the DO inks gives you a soft finish until you take a baby wipe to it and out come all the bright colours.  Because it's so bright I had fun trying to add elements to it.  Decided finally to use a die cut leaf stem and finished off with a foam tape mounted stamped sentiment. I am also playing along with Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Make your own background.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Love and Best Wishes

Some more watercolouring from me today... this one with watercolour pencils.  I used the Stamplorations Blossom Bliss sampler and when finished colouring die cut a heart.  I arranged this on an embossed background with a strip of metallic ribbon and a stamped sentiment.
I made this card with the leftover flower from the panel.... arranged on a lilac background with a strip of embossed white card.  Finished off with some metallic cord and a stamped die cut sentiment.
I am playing along again with Stamplorations Colouring book Hop and Linky Party, Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge and Kathy's 30 day Colouring Challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend
