Whats On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

Hi there visitors from sunny Yeppoon this beautiful Wednesday....and what's on my work desk today...if you're new and wondering about this WOYWW then click here  and Julia will explain.
So as you'll see my desk is sooooo clean - I have been at my desk a couple of times this week - made a few more Christmas cards (on the rights side with my stack of stamps I've cleaned but ready for more use) and on the left two sheets of embossed paper that I was experimenting with sand paper - really like the effect and made a purple card for a friends birthday. Second pic is to show how I store my inks - nice and handy; they're in frozen pastry keepers by Decor, one for each - distress, pigment, chalks.
Now for the rest of the week I've been busy making a big mess in the living area with my sewing machine set up on the dining table from last week.  I'm making a rainbow quilt using the Bargello technique - my first one ever but I've had these pieces of material for a very long time and so I got started.

First cut the strips.                          Second stitch them up

Third cut them again and rearrange                                Four sew again into one piece, just got to wait for some daughter input on the border colours.
These are the two pieces of the quilt I was working on last week. First one I'm still blanket stitching the butterflies on, second the butterflies are padded - PS this is a store bought panel
My desk and room is really tidy today because both our kids are coming for a visit this weekend as it's Ryan,s 26th birthday. Hopefully I'll get one of the quilts finished so Jacalyn can take it home for the nursery.  Thanks for taking a peek and hope you're having a great week too.Robyn xx

Happy Birthday

Oh doesn't that cupcake look too gorgeous to eat...love the folded flower and tiny pearls to finish it - so thank you Scrapbook Boutique for the June inspiration photo. I was definitely inspired to make a card.......I love these lovely fabric flowers you can buy now and so I designed my card around it and now I have my tiny flower punch unpacked I guess I'll be using them again too.
Thanks for taking a peek

Christmas, CardPatterns: Sketch 165

Well this Christmas card is using really weird non traditional colours...using the wreath patterned paper as the base colours - it's one of those sheets out of a pad that is really difficult to match. I used the Card Patterns sketch 165 for my layout...I'm not sure I'm that happy with the finished card-anyway thanks for taking a peek

Card Patterns: Weekly Sketch 148, Play Date Cafe PDCC 115

Hi everyone, today I've chosen a new blog sketch - Card Patterns: Weekly Sketch to base my card...I actually saw Chupas card for this sketch and really liked it...so here it is.  To help with my colour selection I've used the Play Date Cafe suggestions - Slate, Moss, Bark and Burlap. I've made this card for a friends birthday and she's an earthy type so these colours suited her. I'm please with my card using some new colours. Thanks for taking a peek..
