Friends are the Essence of Life

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog....I've made this card for the March Card Chain challenge at Society of Stampaholics using their colour theme and them based the card on the layout at Cardabilities #95 .
I used some designer paper for the base card and the front panel and then played around with a lace circle die to make my sentiment tag. I hand dyed and made the flowers and then added pearls as a final dress. I decided that these colours are way out of my comfort zone as the card changed many times throughout the day.  Have a great week and thanks for taking a peek Robyn2014-03

Love and Best Wishes

Good morning and happy Thursday to you.  My card today is for the Cardabilities #94 challenge and I love their sketches, also the layering and inspiration from the DT girls. I really love these colours together and the floral banner piece helped bring it all together.  I had fun making all the aspects - yellow wax embossing, dye coloured piece, my hand made flower that I've for the first time layered with d/i dyed gauze, my dyed string and cool flower centre from a button and gem. I'm smiling and pretty happy with my card....thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Just for You

....I just so love this black flocked designer paper  but as I'm not a black person I haven't used it previously - I think it just suited the layout for the Cardabilities #92 sketch, combined with an inticate die cut, some black lace, ribbon, twine and a contrasting little flower I made.
Thanks for taking a peek  Robyn

Swirly Happy Birthday

Hi from my desk this late Sunday afternoon....not much card making going on this weekend but I do need a special birthday card for a friend so I'm posting this one which I've made using the layout at Cardabilities #80.  I did have some fun with my scorepal making the diamond grid for the background paper and then sanding it lightly and dressing it with tiny pearls. I really like how it's turned out and hope my friend will be too. Thanks for taking a peek and hope your weekend has been a happy one

Bouquet of Birthday Wishes

JAI 170 - Just Add Leaves Theme Challenge

CFC106
Yesterday my friend Vikki found us a new technique to try - Delft Tile technique check it out here. It's really cool and easy enough to do and another great use for our Scorepal.
I stamped up the tile panel and then used it in my layout for the Cardabilities sketch #77, added some die cut leaves for Just Add Ink challenge JAI 170 and positioned my floral medallion just over the edge for CAS-ual Fridays CFC106.  I'm really liking my soft blue card and had fun creating some rolled flowers and buds.  Thanks for taking a peek.

50th Birthday

Cheers everyone on this fine Friday here in Yeppoon.  My sister is celebrating her 50th next week and we're off tomorrow to visit and make this a special day for her.
My card layout is using the Cardabilities #75 sketch
and the colours from CAS-colours and sketches#25.
On my blog cruising I noticed someone had made a beautiful butterfly by stamping on vellum so thought I'd give it a go too - I just used distress ink and layered it to give it a soft colour.
Thanks for taking a peek and have an enjoyable weekend

Cardabilities, The Play Date Cafe

Black...White...
and a 'splash' of one color
and this week it's
PLUM
Hi for my second post today, my friend Vikki told me about Cardabilities - so here's my first card for the #60 challenge, also the colours from The Play Date Cafe #152...striking photo, a real challenge for me to work with black and white and for their challenge a splash of 'Plum'...the slip of purple ribbon helped me decide the purple shade to use. Thanks for taking a peek.
