Just for You

Finally finished my Waterfall card today for this months Butterfly challenge #140 "W"

Firstly I chose this blue butterfly patterned paper to cover the front of my white card. Following the waterfall card directions I made up this element in white card and then used matching card for the flaps.  Then to dress the card I stamped three sentiments and used a fancy label die to cut them so they would fit behind the flaps.  I sponged the edges with the three colour elements.. Wild blue, Wisteria, Wheat...and added matching gems.  I added a strip of gold washi tape to the last sentiment panel and to the bottom of the pull flap, punched a hole and added some blue threads for the pull.  To decorate the front I found this gorgeous die cut butterfly in dull gold card  (gifted from a friend) and added some wisteria gems to finish it.

I managed to use all the elements except the woodgrain.... to my card would be in the Top Prize category.  The photos don't capture the true blue colours or the lovely gold washi tape.

Love Tunnel Card

So today I tackled a 'Tunnel Card' for the "T" Butterfly challenge #137 --- well that was fun - glad I roughed one out with scrap first, ironed out a few glitches and then made it out of a pretty designer paper.

I cut a rectangle in the front panel after I'd scored and folded the card base.  Then decided to use the offcut for the centre panel and used a Label die to create the opening .... from the same DP pack I chose the light pink paper for the background... and assembled the card.
To decorate the card I chose flowers from a large stash I've had and not used for a very long time, also so pearl stamen.  I formed a cone from a scalloped die cut circle to use a wrapping tied with some teal twine, and placed this inside the card.
I die cut  'LOVE' on pale pink card and backed it with darker pink and then die cut two butterflies also from the scraps, touched the edges of the larger one with pink ink and then decorated both with White Crystal Drops and finally attached these in place and added two pink teardrop gems.

I'm really happy with the result and have included with my tunnel card and butterflies, two gems, tea rose, teal and twine.

Fluttering By to Say ...

This furry friend loves to come and visit me while I'm at my desk, reaches up with his paws on my knee for some loving pats, so I decided to include a cat on my card today.

#136 Spin The Butterfly Wheel with S for Step Block Card.

Here's my 'Step Card' I made for the current Butterfly Challenge
I've never made a step card before and with the instructions on the challenge blog is was quite easy and it's really cool that it folds flat to fit into an envelope.

I found some 'weatherboard' DP and cut that to fit the front of the card.  Then die cut some ivy, flowers, pot plant, grass, a cat and finally my butterfly - that I managed to fill in the inserts with light blue metallic paper, also my die cut cat sponged with DI Brushed Corduroy. I used the challenge colours - sage green, salmon, sky blue and added spots to the salmon flowers with white gel pen.  I attached the 'steps' to a folded square white card and used some  blue and salmon DP for the background - I die cut this piece with a Crazy Running Double Stitched die and then to finish I added the stamped sentiment - which is appropriate to use for various occasions - and left the inside blank for this.

I had leftover ivy and flowers so decorated the inside of the card too.

I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC258 - Marsha's challenge - All About Occasions.

Sending You Lots of Love

Very pleased with myself today.... I've made this card using all elements from my stash... the stamped flowers are using a friends stamps - I did watercolour the image with watercolour pencils today, the background stencilled image was a reject made with the monoprint technique, the white die cut frame and lastly the gold embossed sentiment strip didn't get used ages ago because it had mopped up ink when I had a spill but it was just the right size to fit across my Easel Card, I used some foam sheet to lift it so the easel could prop up.
I am playing along with Pixie's Snippets Playground #370   ....  AND  .... Just Add Ink challenge #490 - Add an Easel.

Time for some Girl Fun!!

My jars of Ribbons look colourful on the shelf but rarely get used these days

But today the tiniest length of green ribbon is used to make a small bow for one of my "birds"

Well I've never made a "Rocker" card before today but it was quite easy and fun...  I am playing along with the Butterfly Challenge  #135  "R" for Rocker Card.  --- I used all seven 'R' elements on my card.
I used a small bowl to trace around, on white card and carefully cut it out - then followed the directions to create a "Stepped" version .... cut some bright feathery DP for the front of the card and a small piece of dark green for the back step.  Then stamped the 'crazy birds' in black ink and used coloured pencils to colour them in.... using the three colours required for the challenge - Rifle Green, Raspberry and Rajah (pale orange), then fussy cut them out.  I decided to make them into 'girls' - added some smiles, eyelashes with fine black marker, then gave them headwear.... a ribbon bow, a shiny die cut pink butterfly, and turned the third ones curly top into a tiara with a silver gel pen and gems.  I arranged the "Birds" on the card with foam tape and then used a thin piece of acetate to 'raise up' the speech bubble which I printed on the computer.

To Someone Special

Today I'm sharing a calendar page - love the fabulous artwork and colours.
I am also playing along with two blog challenges...
I have managed to use all the 'Q' elements on my card
...  AND  ...
My card is celebrating life and so  my card features a butterfly - here in this world for a short time but I do love to see them fluttering about the garden.
Also from me a very big congrats for this incredible achievement - CHEERS LADIES!!

I love to try construction/folded cards with a difference and so when I saw this petal fold card I was right onto it.... details on the Butterfly challenge blog.  Cut my card from 8" x 8" magenta card and then found some lovely floral PP to add to the front semi-circles... cut using my circle dies. Then to decorate the front I die cut a butterfly from shiny silver card and a layer from pink, and added some magenta gems. From the PP scraps I cut a couple piece to fit on the inside then stamped the butterfly sentiment and silver embossed on the pink card, I decorated it with the punchout bits from the die cut butterfly and attached the panel with thin foam sheet.  I decided it needed a little sentiment on the from so stamped that on a scrap of the pink card and added an extra gem.

Christmas tree card

O Christmas Tree is the theme for Anything Crafty over at The Daring Cardmakers - and that just worked in wonderfully as I've been making folded cards for friends... and one just happened to be one of those triangle folded trees... easy as to make and this size fits in  the usual C6 envelope.  Cut, folded and covered the sides with pp and then included a mini flat magnet to hold the flap down... and finished off with a fussy cut sentiment label from the 12x12 paper set. I made five cards from the one pp sheet..    I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday  WWC251 - Dawns's All About Occasions challenge.
Thanks for visiting, I  really appreciate it,  ---- and HAPPY CHRISTMAS
