Happy Birthday

Three aspects from different challenges inspired this card today..
Addicted to Stamps challenge #171 - Anything but a Square card... I haven't made a round easel card for ages so I used some elements from my stash - die cut lacy circle, die cut orange/red/yellow watercolour background, four stamped flowers which were created by scribbling watercolour pencils directly onto a very slightly misted stamp before stamping and fussy cutting.
Next the Birthday theme at Just Us Girls Word Week #477, for my sentiment.
And then the colour theme from the dahlia flowers on the Inspirational photo at Just Add Ink #446 challenge.
And lastly I'm joining in the Pixie Snippets Playground challenge #347 - using elements from your stash.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making

Gift Box

A small gift box from my desk today - I love making these, great help with the Scor-pal.  Using double sided designer card means you get pretty insides too.
I cut and folded the base and used a contrast colour card for the lid, then decorated that with some paper flowers and die cut leaves and a small die cut tag.  I am playing along with Just Add Ink challenge #439.  I appreciate your visit and happy crafting.

Enjoy the Little Things

We've had a couple days of sunshine, so got caught up with the washing BUT the rain is back and there's a cyclone some distance north of us that has been downgraded but we will feel it's presence with more rain and wind... never mind, I'm inside making cards.. couldn't be happier.
I used the colours at Just Add Ink #438 - pink, green and my colour choice - yellow and then the layout from Freshly Made Sketches #367.  Stamped and watercoloured my floral image with markers scribbled on the plastic sheet and picked up with a damp brush. Used a stitched die to cut round the image and layered this onto a green DP... I liked the wording on this piece so chose my sentiment to suit - stamped and die cut with a stitched circle and mounted with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year.

Wishing You Well

A 'Get Well' card today quite handy to have in ones stash... so I've used the colours at Just Add Ink Colour challenge #433 for a bright cheerful card.  I stamped the image and used both Twinkling H2Os and Distress Oxides to water colour the image and rather than fussy cut for a change I left it as a panel to add to my purple card.  Then simply to finish added a stamped sentiment strip. I am also playing along at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour November challenge  Optional Twist: Get Well and adding my card to Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday

A few quiet moments this morning to post my card before we head off to the grand daughters birthday party - two in one, 3 days apart and two very excited little girls - 5 and 3.
For the image panel on this card I used markers direct to the stamp, then a little 'huff' before stamping onto cream card... I also restamped the tall tulip and fussy cut it out.  I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the panel and layered it onto a red card.  I cut another front panel and sponged the edges in the colours of the flowers and tied a ribbon bow around the bottom and attached it to a cream card.  To finish I attached my single tulip, stamped a small sentiment and added a some sparkly bling.
I am playing along with Just Add Ink #432 - I chose Bows and Bling and also at Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Happy Birthday

I used the sketch at Just Add Ink #431 for my layout on this card and kept it Clean and Simple for the Addicted to Stamps and More #314 challenge.  I stamped my bear in brown ink and used Distress Oxides to water colour her, then fussy cut the image.  I used an inked embossing folder to create my horizontal strip and some peachy pink paper for the accents.  To finish I stamped my sentiment on a strip and used foam tape to mount it and the bear to the card.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Best Wishes

Today I have mixed a couple of DP papers with my large flower using the sketch at Just Add Ink #431 challenge.  Stamped my flower in Versamark on watercolour card and clear embossed it, then added a watercolour wash with Distress Inks and fussy cut it out. Haven't done this kind of mix for ages... grey, green and dusty pink - to finish I added a stamped sentiment.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Happy Birthday

The visit with my lovely mum is over - she's back down south to the cold weather and I'm back to business at my desk.... today I'm joining in with challenges from Just Add Ink #424 - Texture and Shopping Our Stash SOS#369 -Quit buggin' me!
I just love how my background circle turned out.... created with Brushos and misting with medium amount of water and when that was totally dry ran it through the Cuttlebug with this cool flower and butterfly EF.  Then I swiped the raised embossing with Versamark and glitttery gold EP (Egyptian Gold) - it's like a rich textured brocade. ... finally die cut my circle.
I decided to die cut a butterfly in glitter gold and removed a few of the tiny wing pieces and backed that shape with gold yellow card.... I added some glitter glue to the yellow bits.
to finish I scored a frame around the card front, added a matching card strip and used foam tape to attached my circle, butterfly and stamped sentiment.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your week

Two Tree cards

At last I have my two 'Tree' cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #6 - Trees.   I have so ummd and arrrd about which tree to use and somewhere out of the blue this morning I thought of just making a little scene with one tree and then while making that card the idea came to make a card using my tree to depict the four seasons.

I used Distress Inks to watercolour my little lake scene before stamping on my tree and sponging in the foliage.... I wanted a soft peaceful scene to go with my 'thinking of you' sentiment which I stamped and embossed on a green back panel to frame my little scene.

For my second card I used a postage stamp die to cut four units and then decided to raise my frames so cut an extra two for each frame and glued these together.  I used the center piece to stamp my tree image and then masked and sponged in my four seasons colours.  The tricky part was lining up and attaching my four finished stamps.  Lastly I stamped and embossed my sentiment.
I am also using this card for the Just Add Ink challenge #414 - Add a Window/Frame.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Live... Laugh...Love

What a cool challenge at CAS Mix Up this month - Layered Embossing Powders.... just right for me to dig into that drawer with all the old old old EPs... some just don't work anymore.  And it just so happened that shopping at the craft shop recently on the chuck out table was 'Leaf' coloured EP so that came home with me and became the background swipe for my card.  I tried adding layers of EP to die cut discs, they looked cool but kept curling up and then cracking... I had in mind to make a dream catcher... and then I remembered I had this medallion die so that became my dream catcher.  I inked the center with turquoise and used White Pearl EP,  I inked the next round with Versamark and Gold Sparkly EP and the outer edge with Silver EP and the the whole thing with Clear Thick EP.  Then I stamped my  leaf with Archival Ink onto bits of my 'experiments' and fussy cut them.  To finish I stamped my sentiment and arranged my dream catcher and feathers over the lime green.  I am also playing along with Just Add Ink Colour challenge #413.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day
