Oh, Christmas Tree...

I love that Kimberley's Muse: Christmas Visions card for challenge #104 features different styles of Christmas trees, so I wanted to use this stamp from my old rubber stamps stash - I used Kaleidacolor Ink to stamp with but this was quite pale with only a fine outline, so I used the ink to softly colour some of the image.  Of course then it was too pale for a white card so I've used some blue as a background layer.  I stamped my sentiment in purple and embossed with pearl white EP to give a soft effect  and also a mini gift in purple and blue.  My Muse elements are: a variety of trees, variegated ink colours, layout and a feature in front.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Peace on Earth

A while since I made a Christmas card.... this morning I have cased Lindsey's card at Muse: Christmas Visions 103 (below).  Her lovely CAS card really caught my eye and the modern twist on the trees - cased elements... layout, snowy landscape and starry night sky, use of DP for trees, 'peace'.  My background is  made with sponged Distress Oxides and stamped and silver embossed stars.  Then I die cut my 'hills' and found some Designer Paper with gold highlights, cut into long triangles - I inked over the 'trees' slightly in green DI.  Then as I have silver on gold on my card, I used silver and gold embossing powder on my sentiment on the bottom of my frame.
I am also playing along at Christmas Crafts All Year - theme Trees, AND Watercooler Wednesday WWC176 - Kath's "All About Christmas" challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your week.

Merry Christmas

I love creating scenes with my stamping, so I've used trees, a village and Santa sleigh stamps for the Muse: Christmas Vision - MCV102 challenge.  Cornelia's striking city skyline card - inspired me to include a night sky and moon with silhouette Santa and sleigh and my cluster of buildings.  I used a circle mask to sponge my moon, then stamped my trees and buildings using a tree mask. Then sponged in my night sky and stamped on my Santa sleigh.  To finish I lightly inked my tree stamp and added shadows, also some to the buildings and then stamped my sentiment.... whoops - got the edge of my stamp and so ended up adding to the underline.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Joy

My Christmas card stash is growing slowly and today I have one inspired by Pam for Muse: Christmas Vision challenge #101.  I am casing her layout, gold, a dove, Joy sentiment, and that gorgeous circle of soft color - all of her card really.  I cut my circle from a shaving cream panel and edged in in gold... I liked the purple in it so decided to layer it on a purple panel.  Then I stamped my dove and embossed in gold and to finish used a die cut sentiment in gold card.  I am also playing along at Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round - June challenge 'Non Traditional' and Happy Little Stampers Christmas June challenge - optional twist 'Joy'.

Happy Christmas

Well I hadn't intended to have two cards for the Muse: Christmas Visions 100th challenge... but it is a special occasion for the DT and I had originally started making this card, but thought it had way too much gold and put it aside.  So I looked at it again and decided to finish it off...
I stamped and embossed my poinsettia image in Golden Sunshine EP and used Distress Oxides to water colour it. Then to complete it today I added some light blue pencil shading and used a Gelly ROss pen to add some lines of dots.  I decided to go with a large die cut sentiment instead of a stamped one.. the gold card I selected goes beautifully with the gold embossing.  Finally I used all the scraps from the die cut to arrange around my image.  I was inspired by Chriss's card.. with the elements - Poinsettias, red and cream colours, with blue background, gold embossing, large sentiment and the use of pencil.  Thanks for visiting, congrats to DT, enjoy your week

Merry Christmas

A lovely card from Chriss is our inspiration for the 100th challenge over at Muse: Christmas Visions ... congratulations team.
For my card I  have used lots of elements from Chriss's card... the layout, spray of flowers, the colours, with blue background and gold embossing.  I masked and stamped the three flowers and added a scattering of stars, then water coloured my gold embossed image with Distress Oxides and washed in the background, then to finish added my sentiment, in gold embossing.   I am also playing along with Addicted to Stamps and  More - Holiday theme.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Merry Christmas

My Christmas card today is inspired by Kimberley's card (below) over at Muse: Christmas Vision #99 -  I've used her mono brown tones on cream card, her layout and the Santa image.  Over the years I've found this favourite old Santa stamp is best inked with a brayer to capture the fine lines so I used Adirondack dye ink in mushroom, then framed the image in darker brown onto a background panel in light brown  and a cream card. To finish I stamped the sentiment on a cream card strip in brown ink. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

My last Christmas card make for the year for a special friend... I love how it turned out.
I made my watercolour background with Distress Oxides & smooching, then a bit more water and dabbing off the excess.  I die cut my ornament twice... in white card which I kept as the outline and the second with double sided tape which I added gold glitter to the cutouts and then repostioned them in the white outline.  I used a die cut tree landscape from my stash to create a snowy scene and then added a die cut holly branch from which to hang my ornament.  I used a deep maroon pink card and to finish stamped and gold heat embossed my sentiment and watercoloured the flower.
I am joining in the challenges at CAS Mix Up December - Anything Goes (stamping, heat embossing, die cuts, watercolouring, glitter), also to CAS Watercolour - Anything Goes, and to Muse; Christmas Visions 90 - Any Holiday Card.  Thanks for taking a peek

'Twas the night before Christmas

I love this PB stamp - Pine and Star, and don't think I've used it this year - so time for something different.  I had this watercolour background using Brushos in my stash and thought it looked like a night sky so I stamped the tree three times - twice in two greens of DOX and final stamp in dark green DI as it wasn't showing on the dark background. Then I used white pigment ink to create the snow bank and embossed it in clear, it didn't show too well either so I used the edge of the ink pad again and used white embossing powder - I like this and added some to the tree.  I stamped on my sentiment in white and embossed it in white, and the same for the star which I moved from the left on the stamp to the center....I added some silvery gel pen to it too.  And finally I spritzed it very lightly with Perfect Pearls for some falling snow and some tiny dots of white gel pen. Thanks for taking a peek

Wishing you a Magical Christmas

My third card as guest designer for House Mouse and Friends challenge has a Christmas Winter theme .... as I write this it is stinking hot and humid here in Queensland, Australia and the thought of snowy fun at Christmas would be wonderful.
I thought these cute 'sledding' mice were having so much fun that they should be sharing it with a few friends.  So I stamped up four images and water coloured them with leftover ink on my plastic sheet. then fussy cut them.  The fifth image I stamped straight onto the middle of my tri-folded card. I added some white glitter to their caps.  Then I sponged in some pale blue sky and used foam to to arrange the images on the snow slope.

Lastly I stamped my sentiments and used a stitched die to cut them out and arranged some green pine foliage from my leftover stash and added some sparkly snowflakes.  It needed a frame so I mounted the panel on red card.  I am also posting my card to Muse: Christmas Visions #90 - Festive Holiday card.   Thanks for taking a peek
