Have a Great Day

Time for a Masculine card and although I don't have too many male stamps I have a stash drawer with stamped images that I have collected from friends over the years... heavens only knows how old this stamped and embossed image of a golf bag is, but it will come in handy for hubby's birthday because he loves his golf.  I used DI to water colour the image and the motley effect is from the ancient card, then I used a silver gel pen to colour the clubs.  Cut green card to frame the panel and embossed a mustard strip to go with it onto a dark green card..  To finish I added the stamped sentiment with foam tape.
I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC226  Dawn's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge and Pixie's Snippets Playground #355 - using your stash.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it and happy stamping.

Special Birthday...

Now these to pieces are snippets I've had on my desk for a few weeks after experimenting with pigment powders and stencils...see here for CAS Stencil challenge and my card.

I did discard them but figured to see what they might look like if I cut around the images...

Framed this one up with a stitched die cut frame onto a pink card which helped to bring out the pink in the shimmer.... then added some die cut leaves and a gold heat embossed sentiment.

Then for the second I went completely away from a clean and simple design.... die cut a circle from this lovely lemon DP and attached it to a deep pink card.  I thought to use the mustard colour from the DP to die cut some foliage and arranged them with the flower popping out of the circle.  To finish I added a stamped sentiment label from my stash too..

I am playing along with Pixie's Snippets Playground  #353 - Anything Goes using your snippets and also with Shopping Our Stash #397 - Stencil Me This.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making.

Merry Christmas

Earlier in the year I was playing around with the Bokeh effect for cards and this piece was a leftover sitting waiting in my stash for just this card.... I saw recently where someone used vellum for the background die cut - so here I used it to layer with  a white die cut Christmas sentiment also from my stash and teamed it up with a extra white layer for a border on the blue panel and a white card.  I am playing along with Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge #352 and Happy Little Stampers May Christmas challenge - using optional circles too.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - have a great weekend.

Birthday Wishes

I think you could call this a male 'Spring' card .... asked my hubby and he gave me the nod... so this is for The Male Room challenge #108 - Spring.  I'm also joining in with Pixie's Snippets Playground #349 challenge ... this stamped and embossed basket is nearing on 'ancient' - over 10 years ago I stamped a bundle of these with a borrowed stamp at a Stamp Camp a group of us Darwin Stamping girls used to hold - oh my goodness that brings back memories.
I touched up the wicker with a wash of Distress Ink and then cut a slit so I could slip in my die cut 'bluebells' -(touched the stamen up with white gel pen).  I partially impressed a stitched die for interest and to finished attached a large blue glittery sentiment and used cream card base.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making.

Best Wishes......

I do love Fuchsias - gorgeous combination of colours that look like bells to me... so of course I love to stamp this one I have in my stash..  This one is actually a snippet that has been waiting a few weeks after I experimented by using watercolour pencils directly onto the wet shadow stamp and then stamping onto white card.... I love how it turned out - I added to bright stamen tips and a little colour to the petals... then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.  Next I stamped my sentiment on white card and sponged seedless grapes DO around the edge, then cut a circle in my front panel, run a pencil around the inner cut edge, then matched up the flower panel, drew the circle onto it and hand cut the section and around the leaves.  To finish I layered and attached all the elements in place and added a couple of Nuvo drops.  I am playing along with Penny Black Saturday challenge - PBSC March, Anything Goes - option Clean and Simple, also with Penny Black and More ... Monthly challenge March - Going Round in Circles.... the PB stamps I used are Chandelier, and ....every day.
I am also playing at Pixie's Snippets Playground #348.

Happy Birthday

Three aspects from different challenges inspired this card today..
Addicted to Stamps challenge #171 - Anything but a Square card... I haven't made a round easel card for ages so I used some elements from my stash - die cut lacy circle, die cut orange/red/yellow watercolour background, four stamped flowers which were created by scribbling watercolour pencils directly onto a very slightly misted stamp before stamping and fussy cutting.
Next the Birthday theme at Just Us Girls Word Week #477, for my sentiment.
And then the colour theme from the dahlia flowers on the Inspirational photo at Just Add Ink #446 challenge.
And lastly I'm joining in the Pixie Snippets Playground challenge #347 - using elements from your stash.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making

Happy Birthday

All the elements for this card are snippets from my stash... the die cut piece was already trimmed and the red Brushos background was easily trimmed to fit - I added a spritz of Perfect Pearls so it's all shimmery.  The stamped sentiment too from my stash - I really like this stamp - the layout and lettering and it belongs to my friend so when I visit I stamp a few up for later.  And to keep the card Monochromatic I fussy cut this little red stamped butterfly and added a couple pearls to finish.

I am playing along with The Paper Players PP429 - Clean and Simple challenge - Monochromatic, and also with Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge #346.  Thanks for visiting, I  really appreciate it.

Thinking of You

Nice to have some pieces in your stash to put together a quick card... the background panel made using the plastic wrap technique with Distress Oxides (I think) and my flower is stamped and embossed, and today I watercoloured it with Distress Inks and fussy cut it.  I attached these both to a cream card and finished it off with my die cut sentiment..... this I made with three layers of card - black, cream and shiny gold and glued together slightly offset to achieve some depth dimension.

I am playing along with the CAS Mix Up February challenge - Dimensional Die-cuts,  Watercooler Wednesday WWC207 - Helen's Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge, and Pixie's Snippets  Playground #345 challenge.
My CAS Mix Up elements are - dimensional die cut technique, stamping, heat embossing, watercolouring, fussy cutting

Dear Friend

Well I wasn't into the movie hubby was watching so decided to do some blog snooping and visiting Darnell's lovely blog I immediately decided to join in a new challenge - Pixie's Snippets Playground - this weeks challenge #344,  because I have stacks of snippets and it didn't take me long to put this card together.  I had on my desk the background panel made with the reverse sponged stencil (that's when you sponge over the stencil and then have ink everywhere so you flip it onto card with a slight water spray and presto you have another background). Remembered seeing the stamped and embossed and fussy cut floral in my stash, so hauled that out and then the sentiment, just needed a trim and to help the floral pop, magically I had a circle frame and a light aqua die cut circle to add behind it...done. I'll be back to Pixie's because this year that's been my plan - use up my stashes.
I also used the sketch at The Paper Players PP426, and am joining with Addicted to Stamps and More #326 - Anything Goes.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it,  - happy card making.

ps on the side Darnell has arranged a Thank You Di Blog Hop to celebrate Di's seventh anniversary at Pixie's Playground and I'm joining in...
