Best Wishes

Burnt Umber ... Honey ... Butter

mmmmmmm....what yummy colours from Play Date Cafe #190 and soooo inspired by Jaclyn Millers card (check it out here)
So Vikki and I are having a rather weird day as our skype is playing up but thanks Vikki for pointing out Jaclyns lovely card, it's nice to just create an abstract kind've card instead of my usual florals. I'm quite happy with the result using my Chocolate Baroque stamps
and thanks for taking a peek

Just Saying Hello

Well it's turning out to be a creative Saturday...skyping with friend Vikki we've made quite a few cards and I'm always getting encouragement and ideas from her even though we're 720kms apart....thank you Vikki.
Here's my card using the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch #35 and the interesting colour combination at Play Date Cafe #189 - I like these colours    Burgundy ... Terra Cotta ...Icy Blue.
I find it a real challenge to do less on the card I'm usually a bit more complicated than this one.
Thanks for taking a peek

Celebrate...enjoys life's moments

SOS #96 Not Your Normal Paper

A new challenge blog today for me today over at Addicted to Stamps & More #40 and also the gorgeous colours match with those at The Play Date Cafe #177- Midnight, Aqua and Terra Cotta. Remember quite a few years back we had a go at making our own paper - well I have a stash of it and the terra cotta shade is some of it - we used to wet the edge and tear to get a frayed look :-) anyway at Shopping our Stash #96 they want you to use some of those papers you've had saved away.  This comes together with the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#23 ..... might just have to go mix myself a G&T pretty soon and put my feet up and relax....hope you're having an enjoyable weekend and Thanks for taking a peek

Just for You

SK174 US205

Pleated Medallion Happy Birthday

My last card today is using the gorgeous colours - Fuschia, Sprout and Canary at this weeks
Play Date Cafe challenge #167. I also wanted to try making a pleated medallion using two scallop edged circle die cuts, scoring them through and accordion folding each, with one radius cut and joining the two together - it worked just beautifully and quite easy.  It was lovely to spend my time today with friends Vikki and Estelle - we each inspire the other and it's great to have company ...thanks ladies.  Thanks also for taking a peek

CAS(E) this Sketch, the Play Date Cafe

Oh wow I'm sure making some different kinds of cards this weekend....I love the layout this week at CAS(E) this Sketch #11 and the gorgeous cards made by the design team were a huge inspiration
AND then the colours at the Play Date Cafe #165 are soooo nice,  but then to select the shades to use was a challenge in itself.  Anyway they're not as soft as I'd probably normally do but in the end I'm very happy with the result....thanks for taking a peek

The Craft's Meow Sketch, The Play Date Cafe, Shopping Our Stash challenge

Oh I so do like purples...missed them recently with  most blog challenges after autumn and Halloween anyway I'm loving the colours at The Play Date Cafe #157 challenge and I've used them with the sketch from The Craft's Meow Sketch for November.  I also love the  piece of lace I found this week at the craft shop and of course I just had to have it which also fits with the challenge at Shopping Our Stash #76 -

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 76: Best Deal Ever or I had to buy it, it was on SALE!.

My lace wasn't on SALE - but it was so gorgeous I couldn't resist. Now I must be having a great week because I also got a collection of buttons.

I decided to go to the Salvos to see if I could scrounge some old interesting buttons...nope...only on garments and that wasn't the idea to get cheap buttons..but I was chatting to a lovely lady volunteer and she asked what I wanted them for...so to cut a long story short she said she'd look into her button box at home if I'd come back....so I did, on Friday - and I was amazed to find lots of wonderful buttons...thank you soooo much Diane they're just perfect... Thanks for taking a peek.

Less is More, Play Date Cafe

This is my take on the Less is More sketch challenge for week 91. I also struggled with the colours for this card...not sure the Play Date Cafe #156 colours - (Cinnamon, Squash, Vanilla, Sage) best suit the cute little bird house, then I embossed the white background because it looked stark and I layered it too.  Thanks for taking a peek

Play Date Cafe, Sweet Sunday Sketch

.....two cards today,whoa...big smile on my face....

It was interesting trying to combine these lovely colours from the Play Date Cafe #155 - Mint, Gold, Leather
I used them with the sketch from Sweet Sunday challenge #170....I'm not sure about the final card...I tried different papers/colours with the vertical strip and decided on the embossed strip which gets a bit lost...
anyway...thanks for taking a peek    Robyn

The pics a bit dark but it's fresh and cheery....thanks for taking a peek

retro sketches, The Play Date Cafe

A windy, overcast, showery day outside just ideal for staying indoors and STAMPING....
so I've used retro sketches re#29 layout combined with colours from the Play Date Cafe #149. I don't generally make cute cards but the Hero Arts stamp set words lower and another small set had the other little birds - I coloured them with my twinkling H20s.  Thanks for taking a peek
