Vintage Travel ATCs

Today I finished off my set of Vintage Travel ATCs for a small exchange with friends... they just so happened to fit nicely with this weeks Simon Says Monday challenge - Road Trip, so I thought I'd share them.  I used a combination of stamping and images from a Designer sheet.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Happy Easter

This wicker basket has been in my stash for a very long time... today it has become my Easter Egg Basket... I stamped it in brown and clear embossed onto beige card and fussy cut it.  Then I used an oval and a round die to cut my spotty eggs from hand made paper.  My background panel is a piece of designer paper and I stamped on my sentiment, and used foam tape to arrange my basket and eggs.  I am Inspired by the soft coloured speckled eggs at Just Add Ink #400 challenge and am also posting to Simon Say Monday challenge - Easter /Spring and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Easter.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

'Twas the night before Christmas

I love this PB stamp - Pine and Star, and don't think I've used it this year - so time for something different.  I had this watercolour background using Brushos in my stash and thought it looked like a night sky so I stamped the tree three times - twice in two greens of DOX and final stamp in dark green DI as it wasn't showing on the dark background. Then I used white pigment ink to create the snow bank and embossed it in clear, it didn't show too well either so I used the edge of the ink pad again and used white embossing powder - I like this and added some to the tree.  I stamped on my sentiment in white and embossed it in white, and the same for the star which I moved from the left on the stamp to the center....I added some silvery gel pen to it too.  And finally I spritzed it very lightly with Perfect Pearls for some falling snow and some tiny dots of white gel pen. Peace to the World

I  have definitely had fun this month with CAS Mix Up - Watercolour Wash and CAS Watercolour - Silhouette.  I also used the theme at Muse: Christmas Visions 85 with Stephanie's card (below) as inspiration for my card... Peace.  I created this watercolour wash background with Brushos and lots of water.. love the soft colours.... then I decided to hit it with my Perfect Pearls Mist to add some shimmer.  I used a die cut word - Peace and finished off with a stamped sentiment.. To complete the card I added a white silhoutte die cut bird (dove) and sprig (olive branch).  I am also posting to Simon Says Monday challenge - Shimmer and Shine.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

The lovely lily on Bev's Inspirational card at Time Out Challenges #91 had me making this card. Instead of a rainbow affect I painted the background of the stamped lily in gradual shades of yellow and added a slight touch of coral to the flower center, with minimal extra colours on the stem and stamen. I stamped the sentiment across the bottom and decided to include it with the image panel.  A lovely bright yellow background layer on a white card to finish.
I am also posting to Simon Says Monday challenge - Stamp It and also Simon Says Wednesday challenge with the same theme as the celebrate 'STAMPember'.  Thanks for taking a peek

Be Brave, Be Bold

Had some fun time making some ATCs to swap and play along with the Simon Says Monday challenge - Make an Artist Trading Card.   I gold embossed this large background stamp and used bright colours of Brushos to give this pattern a rich feel.  Then mounted the panels to a matching card back and stamped my sentiment.  I cut up the sentiment and sponged the edges, mounted them with foam tape and added a few gems to finish. Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes

I am definitely going to try this style again... love how the Brushos came up so rich against the gold embossing on this background stamp. I cut a white card frame and gold embossed my sentiment and then attached to a teal card.  To finish I added s floral die cut.  I am posting to Simon Says Monday challenge - Happy Birthday and Watercooler Wednesday challenge WWC#131 - All About Birthdays.  Thanks for taking a peek

On Christmas night ...

Today I have another Christmas card to add to my stash which I'm happy to say is looking good especially with 21 weeks to go.  I am playing along with House Mouse and Friends challenge #246 - Christmas in July, Just Us Girls week 404 - Use something old &/or new, and Simon Says Monday challenge - You've Got the Edge - have your project draw your eye to the edge.
I used a very old House Mouse stamp, and stamped my image three times so I could do a little bit of paper-tolling to add some interest to the card. I coloured my images with Brushos and then fussy cut them out and used foam tape to mount them.  I chose this designer paper so I could cut around some of the berries and cone and slip my panel under to give some interest to the edge. Then I layered onto deep red card and checked paper to match the ribbon on the dp to create a frame. I used a new die to cut a couple of pine cones, coloured them and adhered dark brown card to the back and attached them with a matching bow.  To finish I added some shine to the candle stick with silver gel pen and gold inference powder around the flame.  I am also posting to Watercooler Wednesday challenge WWC129 - All About Christmas and to  Merry Monday - Christmas in July Summer Link-up - as inspiration challenge #246

Summer.....

Each month I'm always wanting to play along with the CAS Watercolour Card challenge and I always seem to leave it till the last minute - determined not to miss out today with only a few hours till close. So I've made a 'summer' card - I chose to use colours in yellow and blues to represent the sand and the beach - a favourite place to spend our summer vacations as a youngster.... now it's not a problem we live in the tropics on the coast.  I swiped my Distress Ink pads on my plastic mat and spritzed with water then smooched my panel in the ink... of course one never knows how the water and paint will react with the card but I was really happy with the blotchy effect.  I flicked a few drops of glitzy orange ink across the card too ... then stamped on my palm tree silhouette.  I decided to die cut a bicycle and make up a beach sign post to finish the card.  I am also posting to Rubber Dance challenge - Theme is Summer Holidays, Happy Little Stampers CAS June challenge - Smoosh, Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies June challenge,  and Simon Says Monday challenge - Vacation and Victorine Originals challenge #9- photo inspiration. Thanks for taking a peek
