Butterfly kisses....

Today my card is for the Double 'D' challenge - Butterflies and also Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  I used a background piece from my stash...Distress Inks on gloss card and then stamped on my sentiment.  I die cut my large butterfly and inked it with blue and black DIs and used Versamark and clear embossing powder to give it a real glossy finish. Then I inked up some card in purple and yellow and embossed that too and re-diecut the butterfly and used the negatives to fill in the wings.  To finish I die cut some mini butterflies from the leftover background and framed my panel with dark aqua card.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Happy BIrthday

Last Friday Elaine posted some gorgeous cards for the 5th Birthday celebrations at Stamplorations where they're asking us to case some of the cards the design team are sharing... I just love Elaine's card (below) and have created this card using one of the Bloomtangle dies.
First I cut the die in white card and then used the die with my tan mat to achieve an embossed panel which I watercoloured with Distress Inks... the raised impression was used as a guide on where to colour.  Then I glued the die cut in place over the coloured panel and onto a white card.

To finish I stamped my sentiment and rough cut around it and the to give it a lift I rough cut around this with orange card.  I attached the sentiment with foam tape.
I am also playing along at Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Bright and Cheerful.   Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Congrats

I have cased lots of elements of Anita's card for the Muse Card challenge #269 this week.... the colour palette, die cuts, layout - her card is so fresh and cheerful.  I used Gelatos to blend my blue ombre background, choosing to have the darker shade against the white die cut landscape. Then I added some die cut foliage and die cut my sentiment in white and yellow for a layered effect... to finish I added a few bright yellow die cut butterflies.  I am also playing along with Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anniversary/Wedding, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

The World is your Oyster

I've been busy with my blue/green water colour backgrounds  this one made by blotting up the leftover Twinkling H2Os on my plastic sheet  I love the shimmer .... today I have teamed my ocean/sea background with an oyster clam stamped with Versamark and embossed with pearl gold. I watercoloured the shell with Distress Inks, fussy cut it and added some pearl white paint to the pearl.  Then to finish I stamped my sentiment.  I am playing along with CAS Watercolour - Ocean theme, Addicted to CAS challenge #137 - Sea theme, Addicted to Stamps and More - Clean and Simple challenge #294 and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

Be happy, Be bright, Be you

I had some messy fun yesterday with shaving cream and Brushos and made a few backgrounds... so used one piece for my card today.  I stamped my PB Blush floral three times in Distress Oxides and the stems separately, and added some white gel pen to the centers.... the shaving cream and DO inks reacted a bit and the photo doesn't show the softer colours.  Then to finish I stamped my sentiment and attached it with foam tape to a layered strip.  I am playing along with Penny Black Saturday challenge - Anything Goes using the Option of Spring Flowers too. And also playing at Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Happy Birthday

Well I'm over the moon with my new die and have had some fun and experimenting with it today. This card is for the April challenge at Stamplorations... focus on Sentiments.  So I kept the background to just two shades of apricot and decided to leave some of the die cut pieces in place as I removed the card from the die, so I quickly added some glue so as not to lose any more bits and adhered it to some darker hand made texture paper.  Then all it needed was a white card base and a stamped sentiment in black on white so it would 'pop' on the card... I used a stitched die to frame it.  I am also posting to Stamplorations Never Ending challenge. And also to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Birthday where they are celebrating their 9th Birthday - well done, congratulations and party on team.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Birthday Wishes

Some time to myself today and I've watercoloured this Power Poppy Orchid, using the colour palette from Power Poppy Hues to Use - Maroon, Salmon Pink and Olive Green.  I also used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches FMS#330.  I fussy cut my image and in my stash found a strip of Distress Oxides for the background. I decided to add a die cut scribble behind my image which I mounted with foam tape.  Then to finish stamped my sentiment on a die cut label and sponged the edge.  I used a spotty embossing folder to change the card base from just plain and I really like how it has come up.  I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers April Watercolour challenge - Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Best Wishes

I just love Fuchsias and living in the sub tropics one doesn't see them very often but I would love to see them in my garden....mmm, one day maybe.  Anyway these blooms are a result of my trying out the use of Distress Oxide ink direct onto the shadow stamp... and were supposed to me just my try outs... I liked the look of them so 'touched them up' with a little watercolouring. .. roughly cut around the two sprigs and then simply arranged them on a stitched die cut background and added a stamped sentiment displayed on a a matching pink tag.  I am posting my floral card to Stamplorations March challenge - choosing Spring as my theme and also to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Floral Frenzy.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day
