Thanks tag

A mixed media tag from me for a change.... I started by smooching my card in a Distress Ink pool - Spun Sugar, Antique Linen, then using the stencil I sponged on Abandoned Coral, and Ripe Persimmon and in the center I used gold Gelato.  I die cut my panel with the stitiched tag die and sponged the edges with Brushed Corduroy and splattered on some black ink. Then I die cut my sentiment twice..one from the leftover from the tag cut and one in black.  I used Brushed Corduroy to colour the top layer and when dry glued them in place.  To finish my tag I added some threads in autumn colours and a wooden leaf embellishment.
I am playing along with three Stamploration challenges - Mixed Media - Anything Goes, TAGplorations - All About Fall and Cutplorations - Fall colours.  Also as I have used the ARTplorations stencil Peony No2, I am posting to Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Happy Birthday

Today I've been finishing off some cards and tags and here is my first for this months
CAS Mix Up  challenge - Glitter.... there is still time to join in the sparkly fun, so pop over to the blog and check out what the design team have been creating.
I made the glitter panel by using the negative of the die cut or the bits left in the die when you peel away the die cut - the little pieces were all neatly just sitting there so I cut a large piece of double sided tape and pressed it on the die.   Then when I peeled it off the little bits all stuck there with the sticky gaps just waiting for me to add the fine purple glitter.  That was the easy part - now what to do with it to make a card...
I positioned it against a white card base in my Misti so I could figure where to stamp and heat emboss my sentiment in silver.  Then I couldn't get the protective backing off the glittery panel - so I stuck on another layer of double sided tape and trimmed around it.  That worked well and to finish I stamped and fussy cut a flower on scrap from my stash - made with drawing inks on glossy card and added some micro beads to the center.
I am also posting to Stamplorations November Cutplorations challenge -  I love purple shades too.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy 70th Birthday

A special friend is having a very special birthday next month so I've made a special card - pop-up box card.  These are fun to make but can be tricky to fill....so I used lots of die cuts...balloons, stars, the sentiment and big 70.  I am posting to Watercooler Wednesday WWC124 - Masculine, Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes and Stamplorations CUTplorations June challenge - I was inspired by the number 50 and colour scheme.  Thanks for taking a peek

Have a Beautiful Day

An Aussie themed card from an Aussie girl... my card today bears - gum (Eucalyptus) leaves and blossoms, in two dimensions....Inspired by the stem of pink flowers in the photo below. Firstly I stamped my background foliage in lightly with Distress Ink and used pencil to colour in just a few pieces. Then I die cut some gum foliage in two shades of green card and also the small sections of the flowers in crimson and green again to make my flowers 'pop'. I smooched the edges of my image panel and stamped on my sentiment, then adhered the layers on a green card, finally I added my die cuts. I am posting to Stamplorations CUTplorations May challenge,  also Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies.  Thanks for taking a peek

Hello Friend

Today I am playing with my Brushos - I love the vibrant colours and you never know how the panel will turn out.  I am playing along with Stamplorations - Cutplorations October challenge and decided to use the colour theme from the inspiration pic. Stamped and embossed my Stamplorations Helenium flower in white.  And then sprinkled on four colours of Brushos and spritzed madly...came up beautifully. I layered the panel on white and red before mounting on a black card.  Then to finish I added a black card strip to display my my die cut "hello" that I coloured with the same leaf green Brushos... then a final small "friend" stamp.  Thanks for taking a peek
