'Merry' bauble tag

My tag today is for Day 8 at Twelve Tags of Christmas ....
I love this large ornament stamp - I stamped and heat embossed it with Golden Sunshine embossing powder, then I watercoloured it with Seedless Preserves DOX and Fossilized Amber for the star....then fussy cut it and sliced off one side.  Took me a while to decided to just attach it to a dark purple tag and add a die cut 'merry' in soft gold card.  To finish I rounded the tag corners and for some reason decided to off center the tag and cut corners lopsided and positioned my tag hole over the bauble top, then added some gold twine and a soft gold bow.
Thanks for taking a peek

We Wish You a Merry Christmas tag

A few days behind now with my tags - so for Day 7 of Twleve Tags of Christmas my own creation -  I've been in my leftovers stash again and found this offcut with gorgeous Christmasy colours.  I created that background with Brushos - lots of water after stamping and gold heat embossing my image and then polishing off the ink once dry. Then a couple of layers to enhance those rich colours and a stamped and glitter gold embossed sentiment, and to finish topped off with a double bow.  Thanks for taking a peek

Joy, Love, Peace tag

I have created my own tag for Day 6 at Twelve Tags of Christmas... using one of my pre-stamped images - stamped in rose red and clear embossed and then I went over the words with sparkly silver gel pen and drew a border around the panel.  Mounted my panel to my die cut tag and to finish added some gems and a bunch of tied ribbons.  Thanks for taking a peek

Christmas Wishes tag

My last tag today for Day 5 of Twelve Tags of Christmas.... and I was inspired by Christine's tag (below) which caught my eye because it was just a bit different using stencils and a different colour palette.  I created my tag background by firstly smooching with Distress Oxides - which I wasn't too happy with but was able to add a few more smooches and some sponging with stencils.  Then I coloured some texture paste and added some holly leaves and stamped on my sentiment.  Next I stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut my poinsettia twice and added some micro beads for the center.... then attached it to the tag with foam tape, and finished off with a twine thread.  Thanks for taking a peek

Joy to the World tag

Another casing of Loll's wonderful tag on Day 4 of Twelve Tags of Christmas.  First I did some smooching with Distress Oxides to create a panel to use for my die cut tree.  Then on my tag (die cut the top with a Spellbinder Label die), I sponged the sky line (love how Loll left that little patch of white sky) in three shades of Distress Inks and sprinkled on a few drops of water for my 'ghosting'. Next I die cut my snowy hill and stamped on my sentiment before attaching to my tag along with my tree using foam tape.  Last added my Distress Ink dyed ribbon. Thanks for taking a peek

Season's Greetings tag

I have been enjoying a peaceful Saturday at my desk catching up with my Tags.... here is my Day 3 tag for  Twelve Tags of Christmas. I have cased Loll's lovely poinsettia tag (below). Using my die cut tag I stamped the floral background and embossed in white.  Then I watercoloured the poinsettias with Distress Oxides - no gorgeous vibrant medium that Loll has used.  To finish I attached my vellum strip with it's white embossed sentiment and added a ribbon tie. Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas Holly tag

When I saw Loll's tag (below) on Day 2 of Twelve Tags of Christmas I just had to case it.... white embossed background with sponged DOX ink on the top and bottom of my die cut stitched tag.  Then I stamped my holly image twice and used Twinkling H2Os to colour it and roughly cut around it. I stamped my sentiment in red DOX and used foam tape to mount the image and sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas tag

Here I have my first tag for Twelve Tags of Christmas..... inspired by Susan's tag (below) ,,, Susan used Gilding Flakes so as mine have been idle for years, what a lovely chance to see how they would present as a Christmas tag.  My mixed media elements are - gilding flakes, die cut stitched tag and tree - coloured with Distress Ink and white glitter for snow, stamped and embossed sentiment and to finish a gold ribbon.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Merry Christmas stocking tags

Well I continue to use up re-stamped bits from my stash and today I have found these two stockings that are so old I had to add modeling paste to the tops and they were off-white...I spruced them up with some glitter too. I can't remember how are created the red part of the stocking but I did over stamp with Versamark and them brushed on some Brilliant Gold Interference powder - so there is shiny swirls and stars over the boots. I found some mini sentiments and trimmed them to tag shapes and inked the edges. Then I die cut some reddish pink coloured card for the base tag and tied all three together with shiny cord.  I have been inspired a little bit my Mary's tag (below) on Day 4 at Twelve Tags of Christmas.  Thanks for taking a peek

Wishing you all the Joys of the Season tag

For this tag I was inspired by Linda's tag (below) on Day 12 of Twelve Tags of Christmas. Wasn't I happy to find this great sheet of DP with a log cabin scene.  I stamped and embossing a tree and the sentiment in white and layered it with two tag bases. Then I added a drift of snow cut from glitter card and my stamped deer is from my pre-stamped stash ... he has gold embossed antlers. To finish the tag I added a few gems and threads to the top.  Thanks for taking a peek

Be Jolly tag

My tag this afternoon is inspired by Karen's tag (below) on Day 8 at Twelve Tags of Christmas.  I was inspired to create my own 'jolly' die cut word - I placed my letter dies next to each other at angles on a large piece of card and ran that through the cuttlebug.  Then I hand cut around the negatives of the die cut card (see pic above), then for my 'be' - I die cut the word 'best' from a set and cut off the 'st'.  I really like the colours Karen used so this piece of Brushos background became my tag which I layered onto a bright blue card. So my die cut word would pop I mounted it on a turquoise coloured card (similar to Karen) and finally added a die cut snowflake, a few gem and ribbon.  Thanks for taking a peek
PS - overnight I realised I hadn't used any stamping on my tag so this morning I have added some snowflakes, stamped in Versamark and dusted with Interference Gold

Merry Christmas tag

Now this tag for Twelve Tags of Christmas  event has been made from scratch, no delving into my pre-stamped stash...but I really lived Loll's tag on Day 7 (below) and have achieved a similar effect even though I haven't used alcohol inks -for mine it's the Brushos. I stamped the image in Versamark and white embossed it and then applied pools of water sprinkled with Brushos - I did help the colours move about with a really wet brush. Then I stamped my sentiment on a separate piece of white card and attached it to the bottom....finished the tag with some ribbons.  Thanks for taking a peek

Peace, Love, Joy tag

On Day 8 at Lolls Twelve Tags of Christmas event, she made this lovely tag (below) and I've been inspired to make my tag.  I used some leftover Brushos background and framed it with the negative of a tag die cut (which I made by positioning it so I could cut around it to form a frame, I left the section at the bottom to display my sentiment). Then I used this lovely white die cut ornament - removed all the inlaid pieces and added glue and glitter to the larger pieces before replacing them when it was attached to the tag and added a couple of gems to finish.  The only thing I haven't added is a hole and threads at the top because I wasn't really sure how it would look.  Thanks for taking a peek
