Home Sweet Home

I sent my mum this card on her return home having been away for 9 weeks recovering from a broken leg.... and not living nearby to bring her a bunch of flowers I thought this card would brighten her days.
Stamped the image in grey ink and used pencils to watercolor it.   Then for something different die cut a stitched frame and positioned the stamped panel at an angle... to finish added a stamped sentiment.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC#240 - Kath's "All About Occasions" challenge.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping

Two cards featuring "Critters"

Time for a couple of cards for
Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge - #20 ... Critters... and I've chosen FROGS,
you see the beautiful green tree frogs now and again in our garden

For my first froggy card I stamped the image in grey and watercoloured it with Distress Oxides and then fussy cut it out..... I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut three large leaves.  Miraculously I found this cool Designer Paper in my stash with water droplets on a leaf - perfect,  then cut myself a rock from brown card, sponged on some brown ink for the frog to sit on.  I stamped the sentiment in black and clear embossed and the used yellow card for the die cut 'hello'.... attached all the elements on a green card.

For the second card I stamped the frog in brown ink and watercoloured it with Distress Oxides...then only fussy cut the bottom around his legs..  Found some cool green leafy DP and die cut a round opening so I could slip the legs through.  I stamped the sentiment in black and clear embossed and then the same for the 'get well soon' on matching green card.  I painted on a few green leaves to the background and assembled the card.

I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC239 - Helen's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge... I think this little Get Well card would so suit a bloke feeling down in the dumps.

That was fun.... I had no idea to start what critters I could use, but I'm real happy I found this long unused stamp in my stash.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it.... happy card making

Merry Christmas

The second card I finished off today is for Power Poppy Creative Confetti - Out of the Ordinary - a Unique background....  Also for Addicted to Stamps and More #358 - Holiday, Anything Goes challenge ... and .... Watercooler Wednesday WWC238  Tristan's All About Occasions challenge.
I first made my background panel using Distress Oxides and cling wrap technique, then used the same colours to watercolour my image which I stamped in grey ink.  I fussy cut it out and used foam sheet to mount it to the trimmed panel on a square card.  To finish I die cut the sentiment in silver metallic card and added a second white layer to lift it from the background and then a few shiny silver gems.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making

Wishing you a Special Day

With some time up my sleeve now to finish and post a few card.... this pretty floral I stamped in grey ink and coloured with watercolur pencils.  I die cut a window in a card front and positioned the image in the top corner after I stamped a silver embossed my sentiment.  To finish the card I added a die cut acetate butterfly from a pack I won ...it's gorgeous and shiny and just the right matching colors.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC237 - Michelle's Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge  ....   and Addicted to Stamps and More #357 challenge - Make Your Mark.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping

Twofer Christmas cards

On an off chance sometimes I buy those gorgeous 12 x 12  DP packs - and at the end of last season I picked up this lovely Christmas pack on sale... I can use lots of the paper as card backgrounds but there still remains a heap of sheets with lovely designs... so I decided I should CUT THEM UP!!!  If you look closely you'll see these two were a corner design.. I trimmed them to fit my  6 x 4 cards and added a die cut shiny gold sentiment to one and the strip on the other is part of the header strip on a page from the pack.  I just noticed that Heidi at Watercooler Wednesday WWC#236 - "All About Occasions" Anything Goes challenge made a gorgeous cardinal card with DP background... I do like to put stamping on my cards but I'm happy today to be using these lovely papers.  I am also playing along with Rudolph Days August challenge.   Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy to add to my Christmas stash.

Thanks for Everything

Lately I've been using my pencil more often to watercolour and I have used them on this card.... stamped the image with grey ink and after colouring, flicked a few spots over the panel.  I made up a square card and die cut the center out, then fixed the panel behind it, like a frame.  To finish I added a stamped sentiment.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC234 - Dawn's "All About Occasions" challenge ---- Thank You.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy card making.

Happy Birthday

This afternoon I've a bright fun card using a scribble circle die.... cut in white and backed with a piece created on photographic paper with DO inks - I used a dry baby wipe to apply circles on four colours and when it was dry, buffed off the powdery finish to reveal the bright colours... then I fussy cut around these to fit the die cut circles.  I used a die cut lattice behind my circles mounted with foam tape and stamped my sentiment on black card and embossed with white EP.
I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday Karen's Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge WWC233, and Seize the Birthday #171 using the Toppings - Flowers - I think these circles look like abstract flowers. And lastly with Just Us Girls - Trend Week Challenge #500 - Circles... and congratulations design team on your 500th challenge, what a wonderful achievement.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, Happy Stamping.

Ho Ho Ho!!

Another couple of Christmas cards to add to my stash... created a 'Twofer' actually
First I die cut my HO HO HO from red card as this was the idea to use the panel as negative space, decided to add a Santa and sleigh in a silhouette across the bottom and backed the negative space with bright greens and red holy DP.  Attached this to a dark green card and glued in my 'O' centers.

Then I decided I'd use the die cut letter to make another card, so simply used the same DP, bordered with dark green onto a red card and then die cut 'merry christmas' sentiment and attached this with a fussy cut stamped and coloured sprig of holly.

I am playing along with The Male Room challenge #115 - Christmas in July, Watercooler Wednesday WWC230 - Kath's Masculine "Anything Goes"challenge and Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge - Use Negative Space.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - Happy Christmas card making

Joy to the World

I've used a new die today for my CAS Christmas card....playing along with AAA Cards CAS Game #144 - Maxi White Space + Christmas in July... also with Watercooler Wednesday WWC229 - Helen's All About Occasions challenge.   I  die cut the candles in white card, from my stash I found this cool background made years ago with Marvy Metallic Markers and die cut a circle to fit behind.  I removed the inner parts of the candle and coloured them with Twinkling H2Os, also the flames and added some glitter gel to them. To finish I stamped and gold embossed my sentiment to the front of a white card and attached the image. Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making.
