Just for You

I have three small drawers of stamped images that I've collected from friends and stamped extras myself over the years and often when I'm running low on ideas I scrounged through them.. so this little image is one - I watercoloured it with DO inks and fussy cut around the frame...just to use up a heap of ink on my plastic work sheet.  Then it sat in a pile... until in the middle of the night when I'm supposed to be sleeping - an idea popped into my head... I remembered this background I made last week sopping up the left over inks (same ones I used for the flower) and just the right colours to put together a card... all I needed with a stamped sentiment and some foam tape.
I am joining in challenges at Just Add Ink #448 - 'J' for my sentiment. and also Watercooler Wednesday WWC212 - Tristan's "All About Occasion" challenge.... I like this sentiment because you can extend the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Birthday Wishes

Third Birthday Celebrations at CAS Mix Up this month... congrats to Loll, Bonnie and the team, a wonderful effort and lots and lots of inspiration.

 This month the challenge is Faux Stained Glass at CAS Mix Up, so after watching a couple of videos available on the blog - I gave it a go....

I die cut my panel three times with the last one I was able to give it a quick run through the Cuttlebug without cutting through entirely (my plates are getting a bit worn)... so adhered some double sided tape to the back and a backing piece. Next I coloured that panel with DO inks (you don't have to be too careful but make sure not to get colour on the background) and also gave the background a very pale blue wash to help highlight the white on the die cuts. Then I adhered one die cut on top and used Nuvo Crystal to fill in the coloured areas for my stained glass (here I found you need to be sure the ink is dry or the colours may bleed) - that's why we have a second die cut to finish it off - to hide messy bits - you can add more layers of die cuts for a more dimension.

To finish I used a rich cream card and stamped and embossed my sentiment in black and then attached my stained glass panel.  I am also playing along at Watercooler Wednesday WWC#211 - Kath's Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciated it - happy stamping.

Time for a quick post this morning for Watercooler Wednesday WWC210 - Heidi's "All About Occasions" challenge, and using the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch #311.
Stamped my image with grey ink and used Distress Oxides to watercolour it, then trimmed it and curved the corners... selected a matching red to layer the panel and some pink DP for the background. To finish simply added a stamped sentiment and attached with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it... happy stamping

  

Birthday Wishes

A quick card this afternoon for a male birthday...  from my experiment stash, this piece made with Distress Oxides and the cling wrap technique... blues and browns very manish.... so all that was needed was a die cut sentiment in light grey card and attaching my panel to a bright blue card.  I am playing along at Watercooler Wednesday WWC209 - Marsha's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge and Seize the Birthday #159 - "Anything Goes".

Happy Birthday

Siiggghhh ... maybe this should've have been a Be Thankful card, I'm so over the flood clean up but it continues with mould now growing and this morning I'm seeing that I'll have to have a clean up in here before anything else happens... and shake myself and be oh so thankful that our problems are minuscule compared to whole flooded homes and businesses that have lost everything...

First I die cut my flowers from scrap leftover from my heart card earlier this week, then some white leaves.  Decided to go with a red background panel and stamped and embossed my sentiment in silver.  I used the moulding tool to give the flowers and leaves some dimension and added the die cut flower centers and arranged them on the card.

Thinking of You

Nice to have some pieces in your stash to put together a quick card... the background panel made using the plastic wrap technique with Distress Oxides (I think) and my flower is stamped and embossed, and today I watercoloured it with Distress Inks and fussy cut it.  I attached these both to a cream card and finished it off with my die cut sentiment..... this I made with three layers of card - black, cream and shiny gold and glued together slightly offset to achieve some depth dimension.

Reach for the Stars

Well I decided to run with a different take on the 'Winter' theme at CAS Watercolour and made a male card with a football player - seeing as Aussie Rules Football is played in winter here - in the cold and the slush and the mud.  For my watercolour element I sponged Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide onto white card and then when it was dry I sponged damp baby wipes through a stencil to achieve this Bokeh effect.... the water drew the ink from the card and varying the amount got me the effect.  Then I watercoloured my footballer (from my stash) with DO ink and fussy cut him out.  To finish I stamped and embossed my sentiments and die cut one with a stitched rectangle die.  I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC204 - Gail's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge

Winter Wishes

Can't believe I'm making Christmas cards, but of course there's been a lot of Christmas stamps in stores over the last couple months, so there's always a must have bargain.... This new sentiment came at the right time.  I started with masking off the sky and snow drifts and sponging in the colour, then stamped my large tree in DI and with the darker layer quickly added some clear EP and heat set that.  With the mask in place again I stamped the tops of a tree stamp in two shades of DI and then with flicked white paint across the panel for snow.  To finish I stamped, coloured and fussy cut my robin on a post and stamped my sentiment on a banner and embossed with glittery clear EP and sponged the edges and used foam tape to attach to my pole.

Happy Birthday

Well I've recently started playing with stencils and have used some sponging over a stencil for the background on this card...I lay my stencil on white card and used a circle cutout shape over the top before sponging with two shades of aqua Distress Oxides, darker on the outer and lighter for the center. I had first checked that my circle shape would fit with this die cut circular frame I had cut, and proceeded to colour this with the darker shade of DO.  I chose to die cut my sentiment in sparkly raspberry glitter card and also a few punched flowers.  Cut down my panel to a square and framed it with matching cardstock onto a white card... I assembled the elements and added a few white pearls as highlights.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC202  Dawns Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge.
