Let it Snow

JAI #178- Just Add Snowflakes

Another Christmas card and I'm pretty pleased as my stack is growing.  This one is for the Just Add Ink#178 challenge - Snowflakes.  I created the background by using the wax paper negative from when I die cut the snowflakes and used them as stencils, sponging over the wax paper...it's look really effective, much better and softer than the photo.  Hope you're having a super weekend, thanks for taking a peek

Christmas trimmings

So friend Vikki and I thought today we should add a card or two to our Christmas pile...so we're playing along with the Merry Monday #70 using their layout and the theme at ABC Christmas Challenge ..."P" is for presents.  Thanks for taking a peek

Smell the Flowers

One of the following themes:
Flowers  or  Seashells  or  Friends
OR
One of the following products:
Dies or Punches
Well finally I have my card finished for the Card chain challenge at SOS for August.  I tried to stick with the colour theme but toned it down a lot...and flowers are always a favourite for me, I even managed to use a couple of die flourishes.  The background is created by sanding the embossed paper...I'm liking the effect.  Thanks for taking a peek

WOYWW #219

Hi there fellow WOYWW lookers... here's my desk today, not too much going on - I'm making a purple shades Christmas card there in the centre of my desk, with my spellbinder case on the left. I have my embossing folders out too on the other desk.
Following I have some pics of the activity over the weekend when our kids were visiting.  Jacalyn and I made a butterfly/heart mobile - so my cuttlebug was busy using up the coloured scraps, I cranked and she stuck three pieces together and then we spaced them over little knots on the ribbons. Then I actually got to finish the quilt- it's different on both sides and then of course we had to finish up with two pillowslips...everyone's happy...The rainbow quilt is still in progress.
If you're new and wondering what this is all about - pop on over to Julia's (here) and she'll explain - it's heaps of fun checking out other crafters desks.

PS   thank you everyone for your encouraging thoughts last week....I tried commenting on as many as I could but that wasn't even half so hopefully I'll visit a few new WOYWW's desk this week. Happy Crafting

Floral Vellum Happy Birthday

WHW Tutorial #112–Colored Vellum Flowers

I enjoyed making my Christmas Vellum card for the Inspired by Stamping WHW#112 challenge so here's my second attempt with flowers.  I even left the petals free as they curled slightly when I coloured them. Thanks for taking a peek

Vellum Holly Christmas

clip_image008WHW Tutorial #112–Colored Vellum Flowers  - I love Leahs card (left)

Hi  there at long last from my desk...it seems like ages since I made a card, but it's been worth it to see our kids - they drove down together for a visit as it was Ryan's 26th birthday on Saturday. And also I've been busy sewing for Jacalyn's baby due in October.
I've made a card using the WHW #112 tutorial at Inspired by Stamping to make another Christmas card...I made holly vellum leaves and coloured them with Versa Color inks and a damp brush....I'm definitely going to make a few more.

Whats On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

Hi there visitors from sunny Yeppoon this beautiful Wednesday....and what's on my work desk today...if you're new and wondering about this WOYWW then click here  and Julia will explain.
So as you'll see my desk is sooooo clean - I have been at my desk a couple of times this week - made a few more Christmas cards (on the rights side with my stack of stamps I've cleaned but ready for more use) and on the left two sheets of embossed paper that I was experimenting with sand paper - really like the effect and made a purple card for a friends birthday. Second pic is to show how I store my inks - nice and handy; they're in frozen pastry keepers by Decor, one for each - distress, pigment, chalks.
Now for the rest of the week I've been busy making a big mess in the living area with my sewing machine set up on the dining table from last week.  I'm making a rainbow quilt using the Bargello technique - my first one ever but I've had these pieces of material for a very long time and so I got started.

First cut the strips.                          Second stitch them up

Third cut them again and rearrange                                Four sew again into one piece, just got to wait for some daughter input on the border colours.
These are the two pieces of the quilt I was working on last week. First one I'm still blanket stitching the butterflies on, second the butterflies are padded - PS this is a store bought panel
My desk and room is really tidy today because both our kids are coming for a visit this weekend as it's Ryan,s 26th birthday. Hopefully I'll get one of the quilts finished so Jacalyn can take it home for the nursery.  Thanks for taking a peek and hope you're having a great week too.Robyn xx

Happy Birthday Babe

US_FlashbackSketch56Hi there on this sunny Wednesday and here's a fun card from me for the Unscripted Sketches - Flashback Summer #56 and Addicted to CAS: Summer.  Most on this card comes from my prestamped drawer stash; the background paper is made with the shaving cream and die inks and I have a stack of them - these are really hot summer colours just right for my bikini babe.

Christmas present card

Purple must be my thing today, I've managed to make a quick card for the Merry Monday July Challenge - Anything goes card. I stamped the background with words and then it looked to heavy for the whole card so I ended up choppin' it up a bit and bright pink came to me so I layered it and made a gift tied with ribbon and a cute tree tag.  Thanks for taking a peek...

Swirly Happy Birthday

Hi from my desk this late Sunday afternoon....not much card making going on this weekend but I do need a special birthday card for a friend so I'm posting this one which I've made using the layout at Cardabilities #80.  I did have some fun with my scorepal making the diamond grid for the background paper and then sanding it lightly and dressing it with tiny pearls. I really like how it's turned out and hope my friend will be too. Thanks for taking a peek and hope your weekend has been a happy one
