Merry Christmas bag and tag

E is for Enclosed, = a box, a gift bag or something like that..

CH#38 * More than 3 Embellishments *

  Anything-But-A-Card

This afternoon I made this cute Christmas bag and tag - it's one of those gift bags you fold from a 12x12 sheet, so I selected a Christmas theme add some ribbon handles and recycled an old Christmas card parts for the whimsical tree and trimmed the sentiment to make a tag which I finished with ribbons and buttons.  This project fits with the ABC Christmas challenge 'E' is for Enclosed, also with Inspired by Stamping - Anything But a Card and adding some buttons for House of Cards March 'cute' project and Sparkles Christmas Challenge CH#38 - More than 3 embellishments

Fill Your Life....

SOS #142: Sentiment(s) Only

This afternoon I'm enjoying some skyping time with my stamping friend Vikki... she's on a roll and I'm bouncing along behind.. We've tackled these three challenges and I bet they are worlds apart... Shopping Our Stash SOS#142 would like the sentiment to be the focal point of the card and to do that I've used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches FMS#127. For the colour theme I'm running with Color Throwdown #283 - grey, celery and tangerine.
Thanks for taking a peek and hope you're having a great weekend Robyn

Remember when.....

When my friend Vikki said today to try this layout from Fab Friday #37 I didn't know where to start - anyway I've made this male card combined with the Colour Q cQc#232 pallet and I'm very pleased with the result.  I've used those little labels that come with designer packs (these are from Kaisercraft) and the only stamping I did was the 'It's Your Birthday'....aannnywaayy!! Our Beautiful World

At Our Beautiful World this week #37 the theme is 'ROAD'. This road photo is of the Eyre Highway which runs some 2700km between Perth and Adelaide, Australia and crosses the Nullabor Plain which is about half of that distance.  Travelling this road is mighty boring at times with some very long stretches of straight road.  The Caiguna to Balladonia stretch is 182 kms and according to Wikipedia "while the road contains the longest straight section of tarred road in Australia (146.6 km, 91.1 mi)." The countryside is sparsely vegetated and there are very few people and petrol stops need to be planned.

Here's my hubby Stephen - thinking about driving now....he had clocked up thousands and thousands of k's and hours not counting those he's driven for work.
This part of the journey is along the Great Australia Bight which opens out onto the Indian Ocean. The Eyre Highway travels close to the cliffs of the "Bight" and we stopped for some photos.

Fabulous

Shimmery elegance - that's what the Runway Inspired Challenge photo ric#55 reminds me of this week...well really it's my first week at playing along with this blog challenge. I've tried to capture the gorgeous bodice work against the shimmer of the lurex fabric - by dusting over Brilliant Gold inference powder on the black stamped design, then I embossed the ancient gold background paper and dusted it lightly with just Inference Gold along with the sentiment. Finished off the card with a ribbon and tiny buckle.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

We Wish You...

Morning Christmas card makers....well for me making a card with Brown, Green and Gold for the Merry Monday #99 challenge, was more difficult than I thought, even when I decided to use this pre-printed piece from a large Christmas pad I bought at the end of last season (there's 6 on a 12x12 page so I'll make some more). Even though I'm a stamper at heart I hate to see these lovely panels go to waste. I actually stamped some green holly around the edges and the gold holly leaves are metal garlands from Dusk designed for decorating candles. I also picked this olive-ish green ribbon to get away from the normal holly green we use.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Love and Best Wishes

Good morning and happy Thursday to you.  My card today is for the Cardabilities #94 challenge and I love their sketches, also the layering and inspiration from the DT girls. I really love these colours together and the floral banner piece helped bring it all together.  I had fun making all the aspects - yellow wax embossing, dye coloured piece, my hand made flower that I've for the first time layered with d/i dyed gauze, my dyed string and cool flower centre from a button and gem. I'm smiling and pretty happy with my card....thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

Happy Wednesday everyone.....I'm playing along again with Julia and many other crafty beings who love to snoop about and spy what's going on at desks all over the world at What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday #249 (click here to go to Julias blog to read what this is all about....Fun really.
This is my desk today, not too mess but I have had a fab week trying out different techniques. Here you can see my empty morning coffee mug next to my distress inks which are out of their box because I've been making background cards...see my plastic sheet on the right with dry ink still on it - I'm wondering if I re-mist this if it'll still work, think so. Anyway I'm nearly finished the card in the middle (it's posted here now), the ribbon bag is out and the stamps and inks I've used. And on the left is another card I'm working on - just still playing with lace, string, ribbon, flowers to tie it all together. Here in Yeppoon it's a lovely autumn day, lots of breeze for the washing, hope it's at least comfortable where you are.  Thanks to those who dropped by last week and now I'll go browse a few desks and hopefully leave a few more comments.  Cheers and thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Best Wishes

SOS #142: Sentiment(s) Only

Posting for three challenges today and I'm so happy with how this card turned out. I used the layout at Case Study #181 and the colours from Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#80.  Shopping Our Stash SOS#142 would like the focus to be the sentiment with no other stamping. The background for this card was created by swiping versamark over an embossing folder and running my brayer over the card and clear embossing the raised surface. I then sponged sand and coral coloured inks to fill in the background. To finish the card I layered a few dies cuts and a die cut tag from a designer card pack with a sentiment from the Inspired by Stamping All Year Wishes set, dressed it with gems, a ribbon flower and bows. Hope you're having a great week, thanks for taking a peek RobynIBSIC-#80

Be Yourself....

Inspired by Stamping, Irit Shalom, WHW Tutorial 130, Gelli PrintWHW Tutorial 130–Gelli Print

Hi there on this windy Tuesday in Yeppoon, well I must've really enjoyed playing around with my Gelli Plate and paints last because I've made another card for the technique challenge WHW #130 at Inspired by Stamping.  Irit made such a lovely tag (right), I loved the colours and her embellishments.  I used my credit card to squish paint about on the Gelli Plate and after pulling 3 cards I I rubbed an embossed piece over the leftover paint and got my background piece. Finished off my tag with some threads, a couple of butterflies and sentiment label.  Thanks for taking a peek...I had fun Robyn
