How pretty is this candle - It's the inspiration for Festive Friday challenge FFC #28. So as my candle card wasn't inspiring me I chose to concentrate on the pine cones and that was because I had bought these wooden ones in a pack after Christmas last year ....you know - thinking that they might come in handy....so I'm real pleased to have used them on this card..once again I am using the card sentiment base from the 12x12 pack, some lace, jute and a few pearls. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Love is the Thread that Binds Us
Hi there again, for this card I tried to think a bit differently incorporating stamps with a theme...hence the sewing items. I'm playing along with the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch CT#71.So I did some coloured ink stamping, lightly watercolored the items added a sentiment and tiny buttons as embellishments. Thank You Rose

A Merry Christmas
Spirit of Christmas Past
Friends are the Sunshine of LIfe
Yeah!!!! it's Friday... I'm happy for everyone who works and has the weekends off...my hubby included.
Yesterday afternoon I was playing around some old drawing ink I have to see how they worked compared with distress inks -and they're not too ; this is a bright orange one dripped onto wet watercolour paper and then I diluted it heaps and painted in the white space, and masked and stamped my sunflower Finished off by inking the edge and adding a sentiment. So the bright orange fitted just nicely with the monochromatic theme at Colour Me CMCC#14. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?
Happy WOYWW #252 from sunny Yeppoon, and thanks for stopping by to check out what's on my desk...if you're wondering what this is all about pop over to Julia's blog for an explanation.
My first pic is of myself and grand daughter Sophie. We drove up last Wed for our daughters birthday leaving behind a very wet town...and as it panned out they ended up with 500mm (20 inches) over 48 hours and flooded part of the main street shops. It's all good now and the garden sure loved it.
This is my desk this morning ....
trusty laptop on the right, new notebook for doodling peeking out from under my makeshift shelf - lately I've been seeing lots of talented artists "doodling". I'm not real good but you have to have a go and I'm recording some ideas too. A jar of nut snacks next to a pile of stamps I need to put away. Middle - my latest card I'm just taking a photo of - so figured I might as well take my WOYWW one too. Do you see the container of micro beads - all the rage years ago anyway I have heaps and they come out now and again. Empty glass and my paintbrush water pot. Then - smiling broadly now - four new stamp packs I got at 50% off and the stamp shop in Townsville (where we were visiting), just waiting for me to use. Two new magazines I'm also about to browse. And on the very edge 3 more Christmas cards just waiting to be completed.
Now surprise, surprise....and welcome to Arthur,

He's a 13 week old kitten from our sons litter and we decided to adopt him, so he came home with us on Sunday. He's been investigating my rubbish bin seeing as I busy adding things to it. And now he's quietly curled up under my desk .. snoozing. So I'm joining the ranks of many of the WOYWW bloggers with a friend to keep me company. I've had to move a few things but I'm "going to train" him...I hope. Thanks for all those who checked out my desks last week and left comments, I'm off now to check out as many as I can...so take care, enjoy your craft and thanks for taking a peek today Robyn
Thinking of You
I'm posting this card today for the CAS(E) this sketch CTS#70. Just a quiet, simple, no fuss card - just stamped a shadow orchid on a scrap of background gloss card I found in my 'treasures' drawer, mounted on yellow and a few gold micro beads in the centers. At times it's refreshing to your mojo to make a clean and simple card and I feel happy with this card. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

On Your Special Day
Hi and hope you're enjoying your day...I've been busy at my desk making a card for the Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique tutorial #132 over at Inspired by Stamping. Joanna has a video tut on how to incorporate a larger stamped image into a die. I have done this before but it's a great way to display an image and add dimension. I played along also with the Pals Paper Arts PPA197 card layout, used some soft pink DP as background, watercoloured the lovely Rose image from IBS Flowers Bloom set and the sentiment, and dressed the card with some ribbon, lace and pearls.
