What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

..in my opinion!Happy WOYWW #266 everyone!!!!! Yes, don't the Wednesdays come around quickly.  Firstly thanks to all the lovely visitors last week and I too enjoyed snooping on quite a few desks. Secondly if you've no idea what we're talking about pop over to our hostess Julias blog and read all the good guff and then maybe you'd like to join in and share your craft and work space.
Here's my desk today, reallllly tidy as is the rest of the house, as we are on the move again and had some prospective tenants inspect today. I hate cleaning showers!!!
So on my desk pad is a card with hot air balloons I made for a challenge. On the left are the stamps from last session needing to be put away and behind that my sample colours for cards that may or may not happen. Back is a blue card just needing the last details figured before I glue it all together and then send off in a card swap. See also my birdie card holder displaying the latest card arrivals in my mail box.
Now for two finds at the second hand shop this week.....top not sure what this is meant for but I'm using it to hold folders where I will place my cards in progress...don't lose any bits then. And below is what I thought was an index file, but I think it is really just a butter container from an old fridge but it'll suit me to hold my chipboard pieces.
Lastly, here are my boys today....sleeping together....
Thanks for taking a peek and happy WOYWW, Cheers Robyn

Hi!

Happy Wednesday and hope you are enjoying your week. My card today is for Inkspirational 60 challenge using the picture for inspiration.  I chose to use the hot air balloons as my focus and added a few flags and a Hi tag. My background is from my drawer of distress ink experiments and it fitted really well with the colours on the picture.   Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Our Beautiful World

The Our Beautiful World
FIRST YEAR CELEBRATIONS
 continue for the second week.
Our photo prompt this week is to include the number 1 or the word ONE in your photo

I have made this card in a box to display my number 1
And to follow along with my baby photo of last week....here is a snapshot of me with my first birthday cake - I suppose the photo was taken outside as the old Brownie camera didn't have a flash. I don't remember it but I bet that was a yummy chocolate cake. Following are a couple of birthday cards from the 1950s - cute (these are not actually mine, but I do have very similar ones stored at home)

The blog hop continues for the second week so if your haven't played along and left a comment for each of the team please do as there are prizes from some of the team ...

Discover

My second card this afternoon is a 'beach' theme so I am playing along with the team at City Crafters, week 218 - Let's go the the Beach. I have had this little girl stamped for quite a few years so it was time she got some colour (this turned out to be a bit difficult because back in the day we just used any old white card and this one sops up the colour fast and patchy). Add some sand and a few shells (from a stash I have collected on my walks) to give the card a real beach feel.

Hello

Kathy's card bA lovely sunny Saturday and I'm chatting with my friend Vikki via skype while we "create". I've been wanting to try out this watercolour technique along the lines of CeeCees friend card that I saw on Pintertest. So I'm posting my card at Friday Mashup 167. I made my background by stamping foliage with versamark and clear embossing it then gave it a watercolour wash of Distress Inks and also coloured my little bird with DI. Then I stamped a few more sprays of foliage with some of the colours from the background. My sentiment is a die cut and coloured with DI. With my cute bird hovering there I am going to also post the card to Just Us Girls #248 where the word for the week is BIRD

Friday Smiles, week 76

Share a smile...Happy Friday, fellow 'smilers'.  Had to smile at myself today - while shopping in BIG W in the haberdashery aisle another customer was trying to find some ball point sewing machine needles - they weren't obvious but I helped her find some and saved her a half hour drive into Rockhampton...I did a good deed and I felt good and learnt something for myself as well.
Now meet our boys - brothers Henry and Arthur, they're best mates.

Here's Henry on the railing outside my craft window...checking out everything that moves. Then he heard me clicking away with the camera
As I post this they're sitting on the recliner with hubby and all three are asleep ..  so much for watching the football.  Cheers and hope you've had a special week, Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

..in my opinion!Hello WOYWW desk snoopers, from sunny but quite cool Queensland - got down to 6 deg C overnight a few times this past week with the days in the low 20s - don't laugh that's cold for us.  If you'd like to join in the fun pop over to Julias blog and snoop a few more desks on WOYWW week 265 - a big thank you to all who visited my desk last weed and left friendly comments...I'm addicted and thoroughly enjoy 'meeting' other crafty inspiring people.
Here is my desk this morning - a work in progress desk. (Click on the photo for a larger view)
On the left a free mag I picked up at the Craft Expo in Rockhampton last weekend...along with a couple of new dies. Either side of that the usual pile of 'what I may be playing with next' - some colour themes and distress ink backgrounds. On my work pad, a round card in the final stages (finished card here) and behind that a folder in which I keep die cuts - that pile on the right needs to be sorted into it (I often cut one and it doesn't suit the project  or kind friends send me some). And then there's my world communicator (laptop).

And thank you Morti who sent me an WOYWW ATC this week, :-) with some lovely extras...thanks to everyone who swapped with me, I'm trying to think of a way to display them so they're not lost in a box.
Well I have to start that blue card with the chipboard frame so I'd best post this and over the next days will visit as many desks as I can...Cheers and have a wonderful crafty week Robyn

Happy Birthday

Today I was inspired to make a round easel card as the challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches #80 was to make a shaped card not square or rectangle. It's been ages since I made a round card and decided to use my newish Sizzix die I haven't yet used and then used it also to create the tags. I love soft green designer paper and found these two flowers I'd made in my stash and just finished off the card with a few scattered pearls. I'm very happy with the card and I think my friend will be too. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday

A last minute post for my Birthday card today. I was so inspired by Kristinas card and technique I had to have a go. The colours initially caught my eye as purples are easily my favourite and so I am playing along with the challenge at Shopping Our Stash #157 - Colour Our World. I also challenged my stamping mates the two Vikkis to try the technique so it's a RobVikVik challenge too.  I thoroughly enjoyed this watercolouring and will definitely be using it again. I didn't have a foliage stamp so used Versamark ink through a leafy die cut and white embossed that. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
