Merry Christmas

Hi and hope you're enjoying your week....today I made another Christmas card for my stash following the prompts at Merry Monday #121 - to include pinecones, green and plaid ribbon.
Well it seems in all my stuff I didn't have any plaid ribbon so lucky for me hubby kindly stopped at the Lincraft shop on our way home yesterday. Then in all the stamps I only have this one Hero Arts from the Greenery set of five...so I coloured it with markers and stamped it a few times. I tried to match the bright green of the ribbon in the card stock so it wasn't too dull and used a few different greens to layer beneath the tag sentiment and bow.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friday Smiles - week 82

Share a smile...Hello Friday Smilers....from wet, windy Queensland....YIPPEEE!!! So I'm smiling and happy today because it is raining, not heavy but wet and cold like winter....but mostly I'm pleased because not only is it raining on the coast but inland across the east coast where they've been in drought for years  - our place in Yeppoon just now at 5pm.
News headlines
It is raining on parched communities in Queensland's outback, some of which have not seen a drop in half a year.
National Radar imageAbout 27 millimetres fell in Windorah in the 24 hours to 9:00am (AEST), 19mm on Thargomindah and 8mm on Longreach, but farmers say more is needed to green their grass.

Qld drought-declaredThey need so much more.  We live at the very bottom of the light grey area on the coast.
I did have a wonderful time visiting the kids and celebrating Ryans birthday - he's my baby at 27. The cake - well his sister and I had some fun and made him a Settlers of Catan cake (it's a board game we play)
Why not join in a 'spread the good times' -over at Annies blog and in the meantime, hugs and happy smiles Robyn

Whats On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

..in my opinion! WOYWW #271....wanting to know more just pop over to Julia's blog to read all about it. I do so enjoy visiting the lives of people I don't know and missed being part of it all last week - being away visiting gorgeous Sophie and celebrating our sons 27th birthday.  Here's my desk this morning displaying two lovely cards from my stamping buddies in Townsville.  On the left you can see I did a spot of shopping with a ream of new white card stock and some spray bottles. You'll also see a card I made and flowers Vikki and I made.  The major thing happening on the desk is me searching the net for rental properties as we're visiting Gladstone tomorrow and need to sign up for a new place real soon, less than a month left in this place....so guess I'll need to start packing soon.
Here's Vikki my stamping skyping friend in her wonderful craft room. I didn't expect to catch up but found a few hours on Saturday so we made flowers.
Well it's about time to think of dinner as hubby has just arrived home, I'll be around later to check out a few desks. Cheers and have a wonderful week Robyn

Our Beautiful World

Team member, Ros has suggested AROMATIC, as the theme for week 59 at Our Beautiful World. This week only a couple of photos from me as I'm am away visiting family.  I thought of many things around the home that create pleasant aromas - the smell of fresh bread cooking, apple pie and cinnamon, the tangy zest when you peel and orange, freshly brewed coffee... then I settle for a photo of scented candles and infused reeds we use at home to lightly scent the air.
I spotted these bunches of lavender while out shopping this week - it's a favourite of mine.
Thanks for taking a peek and if you'd like to join in a share a photo with Our Beautiful World pop over to the blog for details and see also the links to other team members. Cheers Robyn

Friday Smiles

Share a smile...Hi Friends and here's wishing you a Happy Friday Smiles  - week 81...pop over to Annies blog and join in the good times. This is the first chance I've had to check my email and blog for the week...as I've away visiting the family in Townsville while hubby's busy with meetings - happily I picked him up this afternoon from the airport and we're staying for a few more days as it's our son's birthday on Sunday. Now my photos will show you just why I'm happy and smiling...I get to spend some lovely time with gorgeous Sophie...9 months old now too cute and happy for words.
Of course her mum and I took her shopping and to lunch on Thursday - she just smiles and waves to everyone
- it was a big day out and she had a snooze in the stroller.
Then we had to go grocery shopping and she loved sitting in the trolley ... you can see more!!  She got lots of comments from other shoppers and rewarded them with more smiles.
I'm one happy nanna and getting in lots of cuddles.

Our Beautiful World

Hello fellow bloggers and welcome to my post for Our Beautiful World  - Week 58 and our team leader Kirsty has suggested the theme CHOCOLATE

I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate and that can mean there could be chocolate in the fridge for ages, but when I do feel like a hit I might go for a Cherry Ripe....mmmmm dark chocolate surrounding cherries and coconut.
BUT....my favourite chocolate would be White Chocolate - just plain, I love the  creamy texture, it makes me smile thinking about it and that I will enjoy a piece of this tonight with a coffee after dinner.
I snapped these chocolate treats in the display cabinet at our local coffee shop...they look delicious.
Are you a chocolate lover?  Why not join in with Our Beautiful World and share a photo or two. Now you can pop over to the other team members and see their Chocolate inspirations...

Just for You

Well this afternoon I asked my friend Vikki if she'd play along with the new colour challenge at Chocolate Baroque - I love their stamps so was eager to play and I've thoroughly enjoyed making this card which came together so well. Must say I made some Distress Ink backgrounds and the first card trial was a disaster...anyway I'm just so happy with these softer colours and the fine lines of the stamps work beautifully...then I simply coloured them in with DI and my waterbrush. and stamped the CB sentiment in black.  Thanks for taking a peek and maybe you can try out this new challenge too...Robyn

Sending you a Smile

A bright happy card this afternoon, so my sentiment is appropriate. I'm using the layout at Freshly Made Sketch #147 and the palette for Just Add Ink #225.  I made the background with Distress Inks on watercolour card, stamped my Chocolate Baroque image in grey and embossing in clear, then restamped the butterfly in black, colouring it in and used Dimensional Magic. Finished the card with some twine, a sentiment banner and one of the flowers stamped and embossed in yellow. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friday Smiles

Share a smile...Hi everyone, join in Friday Smiles, week 80 and share your smiles for the week. This week has been a quiet one for me with hubby away again, but I've been busy getting things ready for our trip up to see the kids this Sunday. Our sons' 27th birthday next weekend and hubby will be away again so I'm having some time with our family and in my garden. Can't wait to give gorgeous Sophie a big nanna hug she's 9 months old now. Made her some colourful long pants today now she's crawling everywhere - pics next week.
My smile photo this week is something I saw in Pinterest...and think it's a fab idea....each of you can take a smile and pop it in your pocket for the day. Cheers and have a lovely weekend Robyn
ps - I'm smiling lots because I also won Judy's giveaway....how beautiful  is this lace needle case.

Happy Birthday

SOS #162: Triple Threat

I found a few minutes this afternoon to finish  a card I've had in my 'to do' pile...loved this background I had created with mists so teamed it up with some matching ribbon roses, a couple of paper rose buds and leaves, two die cut flourishes and some scattered white pearls. I framed this top card on a matching layer and finished with an embossed sentiment. I'm posting my card to Merry Monday challenge this week as they are celebrating a special birthday for LeAnne with an Anything Goes Birthday Card, and also to Shopping Our Stash #162 - they want you to use at least three items from the following listribbon, flowers, lace, pearls, sprays/mists, punched elements or die cut elements, rhinestones, doilies (stamped will work too), dry embossing or scoring. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
