Mini Tags

For the challenge at Power Poppy PPWCMD01 to celebrate World Card Making Day 2014 - to be inspired by one of the Tutorials on their blog I chose Pretty Little Tags. I have never done this before so it was fun.  I selected a stamp I could use to colour in with my markers and then arranged various dies over the image and whellllaa!! 5 tags. I mounted them on colour card and sponged the edges, I will keep them blank until I'm ready to use them either on a gift or onto a card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

WOYWW #279.....back again for some desk hopping - where do the weeks go!!! If you'd like to know more please visit Julia's blog for all the details.
Today my desk is showing three cards - a Christmas one I've completed, a pink one on my work pad and one with a black cat, in progress....still thinking on this one.  Top left is my new bear Louie from the family for my birthday he's there to keep an eye on the eraser I'm always losing.  You can see my set of Derwent watercolour pencils resting on the open drawer, a bag of pink ribbons on top of a soon to be used stamp set. I've had a productive day and am off now to check out some desks. Cheers and enjoy your week Robyn

G'day Friend

On a roll today, my "Spring" card featuring the Australian Golden Wattle is for the Power Poppy PPWCMD02 challenge....Spring Forward, Fall Back - as part of the World Card Making Day 2014.  As I'm an Aussie I thought this stamp was a true display of our native spring flowers - they look glorious en masse along the roadsides....I just coloured the image with Distress Ink and layered it onto a lovely piece of designer paper and tied twine and a sentiment tag to finish.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Just for You

In my browsing yesterday I came across the Power Poppy blog and they are running some challenges over the week to celebrate World Card Making Day 2014 - challenge three  PPWCMD03...so I thought I'd join in for a chance to pick up some of their wonderful stamps. I've  made a PINK card to support the Breast Cancer fight....I'm a survivor and my sister-in-law has just finished her chemo and recovering from breast surgery...thinking of you Julie, this card is for you. The lovely designer paper inspired me to use this floral die cut a card maker, Joy sent me - I fussy cut some pink card to highlight the flowers and touched them up with some watercolour pencils. I sponged light pink around the center of the die cut doiley and stamped an Inspired by Stamping sentiment and finished with a bow. I'm also posting to House of Cards - with their October challenge to use Punches and Dies.   Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Be Merry

Well making a "Neon" coloured card for the Merry Monday #129 challenge, worked out to be quite fun. I have a bright and cheerful abstract tree with a simple sentiment and a few scattered sequins. This week my special friend Vikki sent me some of these die cut trees - aren't they magic and just right for my card today... just tricky cutting coloured circles for the tree ornaments.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Our Beautiful World

Kirsty has suggested the theme for Week 67 at Our Beautiful World
Under the Sea

For me to have underwater photos would be amazing as I am not a good swimmer and never go out of my depth.
But I remember taking so photos about 10 years ago when we visited Reef HQ Great Barrier Reef Aquarium in Townsville, Queensland, Australia...which houses the world's largest living coral reed aquarium. It's a great place to visit with lots of interactive things....like my hubby checking out this deep sea diving suit.

I didn't take very many photos and through the thick glass the colours aren't as vibrant but there are all sorts of marine creatures....
 even Nemo...hiding in the coral.
Then when we went to live on the opposite side of the country in Western Australia - one afternoon we were fortunate enough to spot this large turtle swimming just below us off the cliffs - the tide was high so he was quite close...

Thanks for coming to visit my OBW photos, do hope you join in and share some pics relating to Under the Sea and please pop over to the other team members blogs to view their photos, cheers Robyn

Wishing You Christmas Joy

A Merry Monday challenge #128 card from me this morning - got to get a couple of cards made this morning as we leave this arvo for a 4 day break; caravaning down the coast.... stripes or polka dots are Katie's challenge this wee and at Jingle Belles Rock with the theme of We Three Kings they would like us to use three different patterned papers ... so I set out to do this.  Lucky for me the colours in my Kaisercraft 'Mistletoe' paper pad helped me out. Then a Stamp-It sentiment became to focus and framed in red with a recycled tree trinket to finish the card. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

..in my opinion!

Whooops, I nearly forgot to post my desk today - its week 278 at WOYWW...I took the photos this morning and now it's dinner time. Not a very productive day today, yesterday was a lot better. Just a bit messy with all sorts of stamping bits about. Top pic...on the right is my box of dies neatly contained on magnetic sheets except now I have a few more and now sheets left. Next to that is a folder containing die cuts I've made with friends dies or they have been kindly sent to me or I've cut them and then decide nope that that shape. Main desk pic, you can see I've been doodling some more zentangles on the left, check out my card I made last week (here), friend Vikki's birthday today so I posted it late last night. On my work pad is a card from Janet in Mauritius for the Card Chain Challenge, along with some lovely die cuts. Also my new ornament die is out again and you might see that card base in yellow and blue - using the old blow the paint technique (card here). Well I hear hubby mashing the spuds to have with our corned beef so I'd best post this and will be back later to check out some desks.  If you're wondering what this is all about pop over to our hostess Julia for details - it's fun and addictive. Cheers and enjoy your week Robyn

Happy Birthday

I've made this card for my friends birthday, she suggested we try Zentangles last week....so over the week I played with a couple of designs from You-tube and have made this card for her. I had fun and will probably dabble again. I'm posting my card to Seize the Birthday (without the pennants or banners topping), and also for Addicted to Stamps #114  - a CAS card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Challenge #114 CAS

Happy Birthday

So for my final card this afternoon I have had a go at the Ink Blowing Technique at Friday Mashup #FM179 and combined it with the colour suggestions - Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Black. I used a die cut 'Happy' and stamped and embossed 'Birthday' to create my sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek
