Another card I finished today is using the layout at Sketch Saturday #335 suggested by Debra and at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything Goes for the month of November. I stamped and coloured in the House Mouse image - which I think is real cute - I used Silver Gelly Roll pen on the candle stick and flame so it has a lovely shine. I framed the image with a die cut label which I cut middle out of and finished the image with holly leave and pearl berries. It was all mounted on some nice background paper and a diagonal strip of matching ribbon and finished with a simple sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Trimming the Tree
Today I'm using the sketch at Fusion Card Challenge and have stamped up my only holly wreath for the Festive Friday Challenge #44. I stamped and embossed the wreath with green ink and coloured the holly in light green and add pearls for the berries and a red bow over the one on the image. Then embossed a matching green strip with a holly EF and found this lovely designer paper strip with sentiment to finish the card. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
Our Beautiful World
This fine Sunday at Our Beautiful World, our blog hostess Kirsty has suggested the theme be
BLUE
So of course my mind went straight to flowers...and then the search was on because there doesn't seem to be too many blue flowers
Found these two flowers in the bush in Western Australia, love the orchids fine details which contrasts to the frilly more delicate flower (unknow) below.
The blue skies here certainly make this dead tree and home to a pair of galahs...love birds nearly as much as flowers
Thanks for taking a peek and please pop over to the Our Beautiful World blog and visit the other team members blogs, they'd love you to leave a comment, and join in, share your photos.Cheers Robyn

Season's Greetings
A Rustic Christmas card from me today for the Merry Monday #133 challenge. I've used an olde world image from my 12x12 stack and layered it on a tiny margin of white and blue to bring out the colours. Used a die cut edge and a co-ordinating strip for the sentiment and finished the card with a pearl and some matching twine. I'm also posting to Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#87 - Colour inspiration and have used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#139, also the theme at The Paper Players#220 is Vintage or Antique. Friday Smiles
Happy Friday Smiles - for week 92, from me on this very fine evening here in sunny Queensland...really it is a glorious evening, the sun is just setting and there is a lovely breeze to cool the 26 degC. I'm smiling because we are home after 3 weeks with the family...love visiting but everyone knows there's no place like home or your own bed. Lovely to come home and see my pot plants all looking healthy and flourishing - got new pups on my bromeliads and a big bud on another.
So the mojo has been a bit lacking so far but today I got out a very cheap set of watercolour paints and had a play - they're not too bad but don't 'swim' easily...but have two cards to show, so I'm pleased. I make lots of cards and pass them onto my mum to use - she was eager for more when I phone this morning...so maybe she egged on my mojo.
Have to also show you this incredible vine we saw on our recent weekend away....called Fraser Island Creeper - a native to our area...a lady had it growing in the caravan park - it's on my must have list.

A Very Merry Christmas
V is for Very Merry Christmas
A second card today for the ABC Christmas Challenge - to include Very Merry Christmas on your card. I scrounged through all my stamps and nope not one with this sentiment...but then I spied this background I had recently stamped up when visiting my friend...and it just happened to have 'very merry' and 'merry Christmas'....so hope that counts. I stamped it in dark purple and then die cut a matching Christmas tree and again in metallic light purple and fitted the reverse cuts together. Finished off the card layering it on light purple and a few sparkly gems. Thanks for taking a peek RobynMerry Christmas
This morning I have made my first shaker card in years with a Christmas card for Festive Fridays #43 challenge...this lovely red and white photo for inspiration. I have had this present stamp for a very long time and I suppose when I bought it thought it was wonderful, anyway then I found it very difficult to suit my style, so cutting out the middle and res-tamping it in reverse colours proved a cool idea for a shaker card with pearl white sequins inside. What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?
So today I have just unpacked my crate and the mail...whoopie some new goodies. A selection of stamps and some new dies, as well as some freebies attached to magazines. I also found a newsagent that had parceled up the freebies from unsold mags and sold them for $5 so I did well with some patterned papers, a stencil, 3 piece embossing folders, micro beads, two packs of color-core cardstock, some ribbon and gems...I do like a bargain. Now I have to find a home for the new bits.... and then somehow find my mojo. Thanks for taking a peek, now to visit some desks. Cheers RobynSunday, 2 November 2014
Our Beautiful World
HISTORICAL MONUMENTS
- is the theme I selected this week 71 at Our Beautiful World
Recently we took a long weekend break to visit somewhere new....which turned out to be a very small town on the Queensland central coast - Town of 1770.
A pretty weird name to give a place...so we find out the story.
Here is a cairn erected in 1926 to celebrate Lt James Cooks second landing on the shores of Australia
which occurred on 24th May 1770
This is a panoramic view from Bustard Head of the land and estuary they would have seen as they charted the coastline (click on the pic for a larger view)
I admire greatly these adventurers who sailed off into the unknown and to have found a new landmass and that to become my home is awesome.
Thanks for taking a peek, Robyn
Be sure to pop over to the other team members and players to see their monument photos and please join in and share your pics.
