What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

..in my opinion!Hi and welcome to a view of my workspace today....I am still visiting with our son so the dining table is where I'm at.  I've just finished the card on the right and photographed it to post and then remember it was Wednesday....so snapped a quick pic to post for WOYWW #292.  Wondering why I'd want to display my mess well pop over to our hostess Julia, read all about it and join in the fun.
Today I made this card using old sheet music (my post here for more)...you can see the workings - water pot, brushes, distress inks, guillotine and work pad and the laptop with my new look blog page.
Thanks for taking a peek, I'm off to make dinner now - Chicken and Mushroom Risotto tonight, then I'll be back to visit some desks....thanks to all those who visited last week, Cheers Robyn

With Love & Best Wishes

Today my card image is stamped on old sheet music I picked up at the Op Shop yesterday. For a while I have been wanting to recycle a book page or music sheet but found it quite difficult to ruin the original...but I did it today. I stamped the Chocolate Baroque honeysuckle image in black and coloured it in with distress inks...I love how they age and worked really well with this old paper. I torn the edges a little and backed it with a matching card then attached a sentiment tag, I aged with DI and double stamped the words. I'm posting to the Paper Players #226 challenge - a project using recycling.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friend

I've been having some fun with a couple of techniques I noticed on the net....this one uses stencils to create a shadow effect (here)...it didn't work for me but I like the finished result. I stamped over with text and decided because it was so bright that a simple white die cut would look effective.  I am posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge....I can't believe at this stage there are 1050 entries, so why not join in. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

ANYTHING GOES..Wednesday challenge, Simon Says

Happy Birthday

Saturday I had a full fun day of stamping with my friend Vikki and I created three cards that I have just finished and photographed.  This card is using the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch #104. I sprayed the background panel and stamped the floral spray in black. Then using a technique - Bleach Out (I found on the net here) I 'water' brushed out the centers of the flowers and leave and then re-coloured them, finishing off the flower centers with a white gel pen. Then stamped on the sentiment and scattered a few sequins to finish off.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Our Beautiful World

Week 78 at Our Beautiful World and team member Ros is kicking off the new year photos with the theme PRICKLY

I love bromeliads and have quite a few....but you do need to be careful...they all have prickles - quite nasty ones that are difficult to remove....but oh they do have lovely flowers

This cactus I found abandoned in our garden...our daughter figured she would start a collection as they are pretty hardy...not...half of this one is dried up in the bottom of the pot....still very prickly.

Our neighbours Bougainvillea is out in flower.....masses of white flowers with just one growth of purple, and as you all know underneath are those big thorns
So these are my Prinkly photos, now pop over to the team members for some super interesting photos. And then we'd love for you to join in at OBW and share your photos.

Friday Smiles

Share a smile... Friday Smiles #100,  whooopie - well done Annie on the one hundredth post and first post for the new year (well I'm a little late but love to share pics of what makes me happy and smile for the week).
For a smile I can't go pass the smallest member of our family ... gorgeous Sophie. We've been able to spend quite a bit of time with the little miss over these few weeks. Here she is looking gorgeous in her new dress.
And on Christmas morning - she loved tearing the paper off her presents.
And her she is with step-sis Bella who is visiting for the holidays - lovely to see them together, they get on well and enjoy each others company.
Then some lovely surprises in my garden this week....my bromeliads decided to put on a display...love those red, pinks and purples.
And today I sure a smiling because the humidity here is broken as we've had rain nearly all day and life is much more comfortable.
Why not pop over to Annies blog and share your happiness for the week. Cheers Robyn

Happy Birthday

I was so inspired by Marikas card below - I absolutely love it - that I gave it a go using Distress Inks - I stamped the Stamplorations flower outlines in DI and then used them to water wash the colours onto the flowers. I'm posting my card to the January STAMPlorations challenge - Stamps and Inks.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday

A clean and simple birthday card for Seize the Birthday - first challenge fro 2015, using the options at Friday Mashup FM190 (too late to post)... but I do like how this card turned out....need to improve my 3D foam tape sticking though!!!  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
This week's Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a project using the "Sketch".
  • Create a "2 Layer card with a grungy element in the background".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project "using the sketch that's 2 layers only".

Forever Friends

Yesterday I enjoyed a few hours with my friend Vikki in her craft room and we decided to try out this sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday #199 - Friends  ...which we both thought was quite a challenge.  I used a panel of background that I created last week and overstamped with a 'friends' verse and then cut into the blocks. Then finished the card with a butterfly stamped on sponged card and a flag sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday

So I found a wee bit of mojo and enjoyed an afternoon yesterday making this card. I used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#146, coloured in the image with Twinkling H2Os and used some pretty designer papers. Thanks for taking a peek.......and HAPPY NEW YEAR, Robyn
