Happy Mothers' day

I have used this floral stamp from the Tulip Bouquet set from Inspired by Stamping to make my "Spring" themed card for Mothers' Day which is next weekend here in Australia. I watercoloured it and then die cut it to for the center piece overlaying a die cut lattice with mauve card to to highlight the cuts and edge.  A stamped tag, bow and pearls finish off the card - I do think my MIL is going to really like this (she's just had her 90th birthday). I am posting to Inspired by Stamping WEEKLY CARD/PROJECT SHARE THREAD April 25TH ~ This Week’s Prompt ~ SPRING THEME. Also at Crazy 4 Challenges C4C #333 the theme is Spring. And finally I'm posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Hello Dear Friend

I hate to waste anything - so I have a stash of 'scraps' of card and paper, etc. And then when I'm using ink/paint the same applies...so when I read this months Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge - Stencil Monoprint, I knew I already had a few backgrounds made with using the leftover ink on stencils - I chose this one using the Roses stencil from Kaisercraft. At Shopping Our Stash #249 the challenge is Think Ink, no colouring, so using two die cut flowers and a few scattered sequins over the background worked perfectly.  To finish I'm joining in with Virginia's View April 'Link-up Party' - a card for a Friend, so my sentiment was to die cut 'hello' to expose the base layer and stamped the Dear Friend on a background scrap.  Thanks for taking a peek

Thinking of You

"So long between cards", but today I've enjoyed an afternoon in the 'craftavan' and made a card from my SIL who is very sick in hospital with undiagnosed health issues, lots of pain and she keeps on a brave face....this is for you Linda.
Some off the edge stamping and soft colouring and stamped sentiment...have you ever tried inking with colour (I used dark purple) and then using pearl gold embossing powder - great soft colours.
I've made this 'simple' card for the Curtain Call challenge - Simplicity, and also posting to Simon Says Monday challenge - Butterfly Beauty, and also at Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Make it Girlie.  Thanks for taking a peek

Oh now isn't this photo for the Fusion Card challenge - Orchid Occasions, just stunning .. can you guess I love orchids. So of course I have made a floral card - a simple stamped and coloured image, layered on card with a slash of ribbon to highlight the sentiment and a few gems to finish.  Thanks for taking a peek

Sending a Smile your way

April Happy Little Stampers CASE the Designer challenge  ... well the minute I saw Joyce's gorgeous card for this months challenge I knew I wanted to CASE her card - I love the white on white with the lovely pop of pink of her rose... so I chose a bouquet from Inspired by Stamping and some bright Brusho colours. But mine definitely looked dull so I added the layer of yellow and finished off with a sentiment and fussy cut butterfly.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just to say ...

A bit of masking and watercolour paints on the feature circle and then overstamped with a bird flourish and then I restamped the bird and fussy cut him to mount over the image. A piece of gauze and sentiment to finish the card.... hope Helen enjoys receiving this.  Thanks for taking a peek

Time....

I just love this sentiment - In such a rush and bustle life we all live; time just seems to fly on by - so when you have some breathing space it's nice to notice the things that bring you joy... at this time for me it is my family - they are so precious and I'm so glad they are in my life.  I made this card for challenge #244 at Shopping Our Stash - use clocks.  Inked up the raised surface on an embossing folder in Distress Ink Stormy Sky, then inked the raised surface of the card in DI Antique Linen - to create the background. SOS #244 - Cuckoo For You - Use Clocks

EDITED 1 April 2016
Today I am posting to Darnells bloghop....April Fool's Day Boo Boo Hop  - post one of your oopsie-boopsies - where we're to share a card with a mistake, or something funny that happened in the making - can you see my mistake ... the clocks in the embossed background - they're back to front.  I inked one side of the embossing folder with green and I didn't like how bright it was so I quickly inked the other side with blue and the result is that its all about face. I liked the effect and didn't realise till later the oopsie.   Thanks for taking a peek

Cup of Cheer

A bright cheery Spring card for the latest Coffee Lovers Bloghop - Spring Edition.
I am so out of the swing of things with my card making lately ... just a few other things going on in our lives at the present ... but it was nice to find some time to make a card for this 'hop' - appropriate maybe as it is Easter.  I used my Brushos on these stamped images - I think it says it all simply ... just need to find a quiet spot to enjoy a cuppa.  Have a lovely Easter and thanks for stopping by

Friday Smiles

Share a smile...Good morning Friday Smiles visitors.... from damp Townsville, Australia.
This is a photo heavy post (you can click on the pics for a larger view)
My first photo I couldn't resist... sunrise this morning - clouds with a promise of more rain. We're in drought here so this past week of rain is wonderful although the back your is very soggy and work on the build slowed considerably, tarps have been pulled over the extension to the right side of the house....

A view of the back extension shows a completed two room structure ready for the plasterers on Monday, and our extended deck roof - see the shorter one still underneath that will be cut away.
 A couple of street views..

And part of the building mess under our carport.... as you can see ladders and scaffolding everywhere
I was away last week on a sudden visit south to see my mum and very sick brother
So this gorgeous rose in mums garden certainly has me smiling
 Me and mum
Thanks for stopping by and if you have some happiness to share, please pop over to Annies blog and join in ..... have a wonderful week, Cheers
