Sending you Sunshine, Laughter and Hugs

You might not believe this, but this gold embossed sunflower has been in my stash waiting patiently for years to be coloured and made into a card.... I mean before I started blogging in 2012, so up to 5 years prior to that.... and I was holding my breath as I wasn't sure how the white card would take to being watercoloured.   And isn't it funny how we all think "Sunshine" when we think of Sunflowers - they make me happy.  So I just used Brushos to paint my flower and added a slight green grey for the background, then used a marker to add an edge to the painted section, so it created a part of a frame.  Then I finished with a gold embossed sentiment and decided on a pale green card.  I am playing along with CAS Watercolour August challenge - Sunflowers.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Via a couple of friends... Ros and Ina, I saw that Just Us Girls #453 challenge had a new technique for me to try... Fast Watercolours.... so here's my effort with a Hibiscus stamped and embossed with white EP and watercoloured with Distress Inks.... it's a very old stamp and the rubber is a bit hard so the stamping wasn't up to scratch but in the end I still thought it was ok to use on a card.  I dry embossed a border on the front of my card and stamped my sentiment and embossed with gold EP.  I am also playing along with Addicted to Stamps and More #304 - Clean and Simple. Happy Little Stampers August ATC challenge - WATER

This month I am "happy" to be the Guest Designer

for Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge - WATER

I have made three ATCs for the water theme... 

First my Fishy Tale ATC..... I used an embossing folder with whirls of water with a blue water wash to add depth to the scene. Then stamped and embossed my 'splash' with green ink and fussy cut this. Next I stamped my fish and coloured him with Twinkly H2Os so it has a sparkle like a wet fish and to finish stamped own sentiment... Fishy Tale... (not tail) - like the 'big one that got away' or for the fish 'a leap of hope'.

For my second ATC I created some long drips on my background with Hot Glue and the sprinkled on some blue Brushos and misted with lots of water.  I stamped, colour and fussy cut my lady with umbrella image and to finish printed off my sentiment and outlined the edge of the pieces with ink - who doesn't enjoy a walk in the rain especially when you live in the tropics/

I'm a fan of Waterlilies and sunrises so have used them for my third ATC.  I stamped the large background image and used Distress Oxides to colour this, then misted it lightly with Perfect Pearls.  Then I stamped my waterlily, coloured with DO and fussy cut it. And from the same stamp cut my sentiment.

Hubby's birthday in a few weeks and he loves his golf so I'm happy to be a head of myself and have his card made already.  I coloured my stamped image with markers and silver gel pen and framed it with sparkly silver card. I teamed it up with a great background piece - very golfy the colours and diamond pattern and to finish added my stamped sentiment to a red strip of card.  I am playing along with The Male Room challenge #91-- Birthday, where they are celebrating their 5th Birthday... congratulations Design Team great effort and lots of inspiration.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Celebrate in Style

My birthday card today features a silhouette ona watercolour background made with Distress Inks...I let the ink seep under the masked off border just a little bit so it wasn't a defined outline.  Mounted my panel on a black card and finished off with a stamped sentiment.  I am playing along with Shopping Our Stash SOS366 - Silhouettes , Watercooler Wednesday WWC182 - Tristan's "All About Occasions" challenge and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Distress It.

Happy Everything...

A few spare moments today to print off  and colour this sampler from Stamploration Blossom Bliss collection, celebrating National Coloring Book Day with a Blog Hop and Linky Party.  I used Distress Inks on this panel and simply added a red card layer to frame it and to finish added my stamped sentiment.  I am also posting to The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge, and Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day


  

Happy Birthday

An interesting technique for the CAS Mix Up challenge this month.... Stencil Monoprint, so I've been playing about with stencils.  I made this background with Distress Oxides on glossy photographic paper.... it works really well because the ink dries quickly.  I inked up the stencil with wild honey, twisted citron and lucky clover, a bit of water misting and turned it onto the gloss card... using the DO inks gives you a soft finish until you take a baby wipe to it and out come all the bright colours.  Because it's so bright I had fun trying to add elements to it.  Decided finally to use a die cut leaf stem and finished off with a foam tape mounted stamped sentiment. Some more watercolouring from me today... this one with watercolour pencils.  I used the Stamplorations Blossom Bliss sampler and when finished colouring die cut a heart.  I arranged this on an embossed background with a strip of metallic ribbon and a stamped sentiment.

 I made this card with the leftover flower from the panel.... arranged on a lilac background with a strip of embossed white card.  Finished off with some metallic cord and a stamped die cut sentiment.
