Wishing you Peace now and always

Whoopppie - we've been enjoying some long needed rain overnight- with even some serious lightning and thunder, and with intermittent showers this morning... our farmers along the central east have been in drought for 6 years, lets hope they're getting a good dowsing too.
Anyway my card this morning is for the CAS Christmas October challenge - Birds.  This is an old wood mounted stamp that I innked with Versamark and just added Turquoise Sparkle EP (it's so old the turquoise is missing)  - I love the shadow feel it created as a background.  Then I restamped and embossed in Silver EP and fussy cut the dove - added a tiny bit of colour and used foam tape to attach. I thought I could add a silver metallic border - wrong colour but this matt dull gold paper looked great (it's only shiny from the side - bottom pic).  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for Everything

Tracey has created a lovely autumn wreath for the Muse Challenge #286 so I was inspired to make this card.  Instead of stamping my wreath I chose to use die cuts... cutting my 'twig' circles twice and removing the centers.  Then from some shaving cream panels from my stash I die cut four types of leaves and arranged them around the 'twig wreath'. To finish I stamped on my sentiment and added an extra leaf.  Elements of Tracey's card I've focused on are - wreath, autumn colours, layout.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Floral card for any occasion

After so many CAS cards it is weird making a card with ink all over... but at Power Poppy Creative Confetti, Julie challenged us to make our image POP, making a statement with a background... so here it is.  I stamped my HLS image with green Distress Oxide and let it really dry before I coloured it with both Distress Inks and Oxides... though it might run, all good. Then I stamped and cut a mask and sponged Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Tattered Rose and Chipped Sapphire, then I misted it with water... it blended nicely but it wasn't till it dried that I felt happy with it... I sponged in some Tumbled Glass close in around the middle and finally flicked on some water droplets... more drying.  It looked ok but the outline and detail looked awful, so I carefully repositioned my image and stamp with the Misti and stamped with grey ink - it lifted the whole image beautifully - I'm real happy now, to finish I used a red card to enhance the colours .  I am also posting to Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday to You

Autumn colours are all the rage at present and I have a card today for the Addicted to Stamps challenge 167 and Stamplorations Theme and Sketch October challenge .... using some yellows, orange and browns on my card.  I stamped my image with brown ink and coloured the image with pencils, then I die cut around it with a stitch circle die. I layered the image onto three shades using a grey blue to bring out the shading behind the flowers... I also dry embossed the orange tan layer and to finish stamped my sentiment on a strip and assembled the card using foam tape.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Christmas the most magical time of the year

Slowly adding to my Christmas card stash.... with a card today for the Happy Little Stampers October Christmas challenge - Optional Twist: Ribbon, Watercooler Wednesday challenge #191 - Charlotte's All About Occasions and also for Addicted to Stamps and More challenge #313 - Holiday.  I cut a long triangle in white card and scrounged through my ribbon stash to wrap layers around my 'tree'.  Then to finish simply stamped my sentiment onto my card base and attached my tree.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Peace on Earth

A white dove with an olive branch - the symbol of Peace... I'm using this as my birds theme for the October CAS Christmas challenge.  I stamped and gold embossed the dove and fussy cut it out, then die cut a branch from a green DI scrap.  For my front panel I used a round acrylic block smooched in a puddle of blue DO ink and twisted it as I applied it to the card.  To finish I die cut 'Peace' from gold card and stamped on the rest of the sentiment and used foam tape to attach my dove.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Go after your Dreams

I cut my metal element from a drink can and ran it through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.  Then I swiped black permanent ink over the raised areas and heat dried it. Then I swiped Versamark over the surface and sprinkle on  gold, silver and copper EP - my copper is very old and didn't work too well, but I like the result.  To finish I just added a stamped sentiment to a die cut circle and attached them with foam tape to a white card.  I am playing along with the CAS Mix Up October challenge - my elements are metal, stamping, dry embossing, heat embossing and die cuts.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Thank You

When I checked out the Muse challenge #285 today, Anita's card really caught my eye with the fresh white and lovely mix of green and yellow colours.... so I had to join in - especially because this cool stencil arrived in the mail today.  I thought Anita had sponged colour through a stencil but on reading her post she had coloured texture paste... so I tried this out too... using Distress Inks with my paste. I decided to frame my panel with white on a white card and to finish added a die cut sentiment.  My elements are landscape orientation, thank you sentiment, greens and yellow colours, stencil and coloured texture paste. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday

This month they are enjoying 2nd Birthday celebrations over at CAS Watercolour - congrats to Bonnie, Loll and the team...
...... and this month there is a colour challenge - use Orange, Green and Brown on your car.
For my card I have chosen to use a butterfly - I used markers to colour the stamp and then after stamping on cream card, I cut out the image and added a touch more colour with Distress Inks and markers.  My watercolour element is the foliage - used the smooching technique in different greens of Distress Inks and then die cut two different sprigs.  For my front panel I cut my cream card down and ran it through the Cuttlebug with a stitched die and a tan mat to give an embossed effect, then rounded off the corners of the panel and card.  To finish I stamped my sentiment in brown ink and clear embossed it and then arranged my pieces.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Merry Christmas

A Christmas card today for Heidi's "All About Holidays" challenge WWC189 at Watercooler Wednesday.  I stamped the ornament and embossed with silver EP and then watercoloured the image with Brushos.  Then when it was dry I stamped and silver embossed my sentiment and also I added a wash of water around the outside and used a wet paintbrush to add a few purple Brusho crystals... and more water.  To finish the card I added a purple frame and a bow.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day
