Just for You

What a fabulous challenge this month at CAS Mix Up..Embossing Folder - so many ways to use an EF..... so first I got out my folder with pre-embossing panels... all sorts of experiments and I selected this one - embossed vellum.. also lightly sponged ink to the raised areas. I decided to use a cream card base as it showed the colour best and is it was pale pink I sponged up some scraps and die cut three sprigs of foliage and while the die was in-place sponged ink through the open sections. Then I punched out some mini flowers from those scraps.  I die cut a stitched circle and stamped on my sentiment.  Then as I was about to assemble the card discovered that having the raised embossed areas towards the back against the card showed the colour more...  lastly I added mini pearls to my punched flowers.
Elements I've used... Embossing folder, dry embossing on Vellum, stamping, die cuts, punches, sponging.    Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Merry Christmas

This weekend I've added a few cards to my Christmas stash.... here I have a floral card for the Jingle Bells challenge - Mele Kalikimaka.
I used a stencil and sponged with Distress Oxide inks for the floral background panel.  Then with the same inks sponged up some scrap and die cut my poinsettia flower to use with my stamped sentiment.
I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC19 challenge - "Anything Goes"
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Mele Kalikimaka is a tropical Hawaiian holiday greeting - making cards featuring flowers

Merry Christmas

Today I am playing along with CAS Christmas November challenge - Santa.  I have a couple of large Santa face stamps and so I thought to reduce the size.... I die cut a circle in paper (I use a thin metallic paper, it's great for stamping and sponging as it doesn't absorb the ink) and positioned the negative over my cream card panel and used brown ink to stamp the image, so he has a a nice trimmed off beard.  Then I used Distress Inks to lightly watercolour parts of the image.  I used a mix of silver and sparkly gold embossing powders with my stamped sentiment and to finish the card used a brown card layer onto a cream card.   Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Joy

New month - new challenges and at CAS Watecolour the theme is Christmas Florals and Greenery.
I stamped my poinsettia and embossed it with white EP... then used Distress Inks to watercolour it. I decided to watercolour the background so the white embossing would show through.  Then I cut a thin strip for the left side and fussy cut the foliage and added a matching green strip of card underneath.  To finish I attached my panel to a white card and added a shiny red die cut sentiment.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Merry and Bright

Day 2 at 12 Days of Christmas at Addicted to Stamps and I thought I'd case Kylie's card from day 1 - and how quick and easy was that - out with a Designer Paper pad and use up the offcut scraps - even the sentiment and top shaped border from the pack, in nicely matching Christmas colours... I just framed the sentiment in red card, ink the edge in red and added a few sparkly gems

Wishing You a Warm and Wonderful Christmas

Kylie at Addicted to Stamps is hosting a 12 Days of Christmas event... so of course I'm always wanting to add to my Christmas card stash and I'm playing along.  I stamped my HLS poinsettia in red DI and watercoloured it before fussy cutting it out.  Haven't used any of my label dies for ages so decided to cut one in silver glitter paper and a larger one in red.  Arranged my bits on a white card and used foam tape to attach my flower and stamped sentiment.... just added a few punched silver glitter dots at the end.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day
