Just for You

A 'pretty pink' floral card today for the Watercooler Wednesday WWC215 - Donna''s Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge and The Rainbow Card challenge #4 - Perfectly Pink.  This is a digital image in grey and coloured with pencils...I like how it overhangs the edges of the panel.  I mounted it with foam tape to a stitched die cut square, used two strips of pink card to add interest and attached to a white card after silver embossing the sentiment.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it -- happy card making.

CAS Stencil April Challenge

and this month Barb is asking us to create and share CAS cards
using Embossing Pastes/Gels with our Stencils.
There are some helpful video links over on the CAS Stencil blog and we'd love to see you get
'paste-y' with your choice of medium and stencil and share your cards.

For this card I created a coloured textured stencil background to go under my vellum layer bearing my sentiment.  I mixed textured paste on my plastic sheet with four shades of Distress Oxides - mustard seed, dried marigold, carved pumpkin and ripe persimmon... using a palette knife I scraped the different shades over my flourish stencil onto white cardstock and left it to air dry....
I cut down the panel and cut a frame in white card.   Then gold embossed my sentiment on vellum and attached that the to back of the frame.  I used foam sheet under the frame to give it a lift and raise the vellum off the stenciled panel.

Close up view of the softening effect with the vellum overlay.

Hope you are able to join in with the April challenge at CAS Stencil.... pop over to the blog and checkout the gorgeous cards the design team have to share and check out their blogs to find out how they went about their embossing paste stenciling.
Thanks for visiting me, I really appreciate it - happy stenciling

Merry.....

This afternoon I have a Christmas card using and embossing folder.... I dry embossed the tree on white card, then lightly dabbed Versamark ink over the raised area... I used post it notes to mask the white card and an anti static pad to help - I sprinkled on gold EP and heat set it. Then to finish I added a metallic red die cut sentiment and a glitter gold layer to border the panel.  I am playing along with Just Us Girls Wild Card Week #481 - Embossing Folders and also The Holly and Ivy Christmas challenge #46 - Anything Goes.   Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it... happy card making

Thinking of You

I was rapt when I saw that Loll had chosen "Poppy" as the theme for the April CAS Watercolour challenge... I do love these bright cheerful flowers, and ANZAC day here in Australia is April 25, we can all relate with them as Remembrance for those who lost their lives at war.
I used the Misti to stamp my poppy image and left the card and stamp in place so I could overstamp at the end.  I used Antique Linen DI first and Distress Inks to watercolour the image, then used Distress ink in Frayed Burlap to overstamp...wish I'd taken a photo of before and after to share, it really adds dimension....next time.  Next I chose the stitched frame I had floating in my stash and decided to fussy cut the bottom of the image so it could escape the frame. It was all a bit 'white' so I lightly smudged on some blue and added a shadow with the blue pencil too. To finish I assembled the card and stamped on my sentiment...this card is for my friend who has been undergoing radiation and chemo for a brain tumor, yesterday we heard a positive result from her MRI - unbelievable and so very relieved.
I am also playing along with Double 'D' challenge - Watercolour.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy watercolouring.

Happiness is.... Tag

Very handy when you have a stamp in the shape of a tag AND then one that matches the theme.... over at TAG, You're it! #84 the theme is Coffee Break.
I stamped my image in Antique Linen DI so I would have a light outline and then watercoloured it with DI.  I decided to leave the card in my Misti along with the stamp and then when I finished coloring it, I re-inked the stamp in Brushed Corduroy and overstamped to redefine the outline and details.  I fussy cut a wide edge and added some ribbons, then to finish I stamped my sentiment and attached with foam tape.
I am also joining in the STAMPlorations Spring Fling..  and Stamplorations Never Ending challenge   using Coffee and Dog roses.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping

Keep in Touch ATC

I sponged blue and green Distress Ink on white card and used pearl white acrylic paint to create a faux mother of pearl effect, the stamped some swirl corners with grey ink.  I used a letter set to stamp the sentiment, used green card as a backing layer and lastly added a collectables old fashioned telephone mounted with foam tape.  I am playing along with Shopping Our Stash #392 - Make an ATC.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it.... happy stamping
