Love and Best Wishes

Middle of the month already and I'm here with a reminder card for the

I used a small teardrop swirl stencil and white gel medium on white for my background, after the gel swipe, I lifted the stencil, let it dry and then replaced the stencil and spritzed with silvery colour mist - it leaked under the stencil a little but I'm liking it.  Then I stamped and silver embossed, watercoloured and fussy cut my sweet pea stem - that took longer than making the whole card and then chose a matching coral card to die cut a stitched frame. I finished the card with a stamped and silver embossed sentiment.

There's lots of fabulous inspiration from the DT girls over on the CAS Stencil blog.... pop over and check it out, visit the girls - they love comments.... and hope to see you join in the fun --- here's a hint - if you don't have paste or gels... you can colour up PVC glue to use through a stencil (here for a tag I made) - just make sure you remember to wash it up before the glue sets.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stenciling.

Spring Wishes

Using a Penny Black stamp - Ascent -- I used Distress Oxides directly onto the rubber stamp- Dried Marigold and Mowed Lawn, I stamped three times, very lightly misting with water between stamps.  Then added some dimension with deeper shades of DO and a paint brush.  Next I die cut the sentiment in yellow and orange and layered these together and used the same colour for the card and a framing layer.  I am playing along with Penny Black Saturday challenge - Anything Goes with the option "Fresh Spring Colours"....also Addicted to Stamps and More challenge #337 - Make Your Mark and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Spring Mood Board.

Happy Birthday

Trying to stir up my mojo today...so I've finished off this birthday card - the floral has been stamped and watercoloured for a few weeks and I wasn't sure of the colours but have teamed it up with a golden yellow background, trimmed the image with the stitched rectangle die and to finish stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.  I am playing along with Happy Little Stampers Watercolour April challenge - Anything Goes option Bright colours, and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - No Designer Paper.  Also with Seize the Birthday challenge #163 - Anything Goes.   Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping

Merry Christmas

A quick and easy card with a modern twist for Christmas this morning.... Jingles Belles theme is Peace on Earth and so they are encouraging us to  re-use, re-cycle on our cards...so I have used a colourful patterned piece from a Twinnings tea box as background and an old gold Christmas card for the die cut sentiment.  I cut a matching aqua card piece to cover the labelling on the box and also die cut a second sentiment to added depth to it.  I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday challenge WWC#216 - Dawn's "All About Occasions" challenge.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making.

Live for Today, Dream of Tomorrow

Hello again, I've another poppy card to share for the CAS Watercolour April challenge.... after my first browse through my stamps I found five or six images but today I'm looking again and it seems I really do like poppies... another six or seven, so the tricky part is selecting just three...
I going with this one showing how the outline looks when Distress Oxide ink is used - gives a nice soft finish and quite different to Distress Inks.  I used Pumice Stone DO on the stamp which includes the background and then colored with DO and added more definition with pencils.  I tried to choose a grey card stock that would work with the card colours as a frame and then stamped a mini sentiment strip and attached with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, have a great week

Happiness is Homemade

Well I'm off to visit my mum and other family members with our daughter and the little granddaughters this evening, for a week ... the girls are so excited to be flying in a big plane, so I thought I'd add this post for the CAS Stencil April challenge - Embossing Paste/Gels, before I go.
While playing around with my texture paste for the design team post - I mixed up  toooo much paste with Distress Oxides and had leftovers - I quickly mixed all the colours together with some Pearl Powdered Pigment (- that didn't show too well) and applied it to my cream card over this stencil... removed the stencil, let  it dry, replaced the stencil and inked with Versamark and added Super Sparkle embossing powder, I carefully heated it and it melted nicely to the paste...it's quite sparkly.  Of course then I didn't have a clue how to use it and after staring at me for ages and trying different coloured card against it I decided on the kraft card.  Then thought it did look a bit like a patchwork wall hanging, and this fancy die looked a bit like a hanger... I die cut and glued two for the top and trimmed two for the bottom rail and to finished stamped my sentiment in brown and clear embossed.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - have a great week, I know I will
