What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

..in my opinion!Hello WOYWW desk snoopers, from sunny but quite cool Queensland - got down to 6 deg C overnight a few times this past week with the days in the low 20s - don't laugh that's cold for us.  If you'd like to join in the fun pop over to Julias blog and snoop a few more desks on WOYWW week 265 - a big thank you to all who visited my desk last weed and left friendly comments...I'm addicted and thoroughly enjoy 'meeting' other crafty inspiring people.
Here is my desk this morning - a work in progress desk. (Click on the photo for a larger view)
On the left a free mag I picked up at the Craft Expo in Rockhampton last weekend...along with a couple of new dies. Either side of that the usual pile of 'what I may be playing with next' - some colour themes and distress ink backgrounds. On my work pad, a round card in the final stages (finished card here) and behind that a folder in which I keep die cuts - that pile on the right needs to be sorted into it (I often cut one and it doesn't suit the project  or kind friends send me some). And then there's my world communicator (laptop).

And thank you Morti who sent me an WOYWW ATC this week, :-) with some lovely extras...thanks to everyone who swapped with me, I'm trying to think of a way to display them so they're not lost in a box.
Well I have to start that blue card with the chipboard frame so I'd best post this and over the next days will visit as many desks as I can...Cheers and have a wonderful crafty week Robyn

  5. Funnily enough that origami photo cube on my desk yesterday? That originally became an obsession when someone in a bookmaking group I belong to asked about a version that she thought might work to display ATCs. Not sure her original idea WOULD work, as the folded corners would cover some of the ATCs, but it was an interesting thought. Mine are in a book I made with baseball card sleeves slightly cut down as the pages (some portrait, some landscape) but that does mean they are still "hidden away" - what about joining a number of the sleeves and creating a sort of hanging display for the wall? Better than sticking them in a frame, as you could still access the backs, where the info is :) I might have to play with that idea myself! DOH! WOYWW always gives me a NEW obsession.....

    Happy WOYWW!

  6. My ATCs are in a book too - but I'm thinking of copying another WOYWWer and running some string/something across my room and pegging them up..gotta be the best sort of bunting, huh! I continually have the same pile...usually because if I don't leave it on my desk, I forget!! So grateful for the invention of world communicators!

  7. Your desk has lots of colour but it is not overpowering. Love those pastel painted drawers.
    Have a good week.

  8. Good morning, Robyn. What a lovely ATC and some great goodies there form Morti. Your desk looks busy - mine is currently filled with hubby's breakfast tray - he tends to still have that upstairs before he gets up. That circular card is lovely - something really different.
Thanks for already visiting. You have no idea the relief I feel at having nearly got there with the first dress. I was quietly having a nervous breakdown over it - but I got there in the end. Fortunately the second one should be much easier. Not so fitted. You don't have to pour the bride into it!!! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for John. He has a mixture of days - some better, some worse. we are trying to make the most of the better ones!
    Have a great week.

  10. What a lovely package of stuff from your friend - I love the Union Jack stickers - I must look our for some of them. I had a peep at your finished card and I must say I think it's one of the prettiest little cards I've seen - so delicate and so pretty - I love the colours and the little flowers and the die cut circle with the fancy edge is just beautiful. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, I hope you have a great week.

  14. How funny! I was thinking about Queensland just the other day when I posted a layout I did! We held a koala at Steve Irwin's zoo and I scrapped about it. We also stayed in Rockhampton briefly - happy days! #26

  16. Lovely colourful desk, Robyn - I love all your jars of pretty flowers! I also enjoy creating backgrounds with distress inks. Great ATC from Morti, too.

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. If you do end up doing the 5:2 diet, it's nice to have people to encourage you! I feel I'm off to a good start, losing 5 lb in the first week - OK, I may not maintain that level of weight loss but whatever I do is going to be in the right direction, and the great thing is that it's so painless to do. One gets fed up with other diets, having to watch what you eat all the time, but anyone can cope with only 2 days of that a week, and eating normally for the rest. It's the first one I've come across that I really feel optimistic that I can continue with. My other health issues (apart from the M.E.) are now being adequately treated which is great - I can only feel better!!!

    Happy WOYWW,

  19. Hi Robyn

Lovely desk this week, how's the garden work going? You also got a chance to go to a craft show in Rocky lucky you all I seem to be doing is work. The end of the financial year makes it more work with taxes and book work, but hey life goes on, just wish I could craft. I love those little roses you got they look so pretty, I'm sure you will find the perfect creation for them.

    Happy WOYWW

  27. It's been a long day full of fun for me but that means this has been my first chance to call by at my blogging friends to see what they have all been up to so I'm sorry for the delay this week.
I put the last two years of my ATCs into a tag book and will probably do the same with this year's once we get moved to our new home.
