Have a Beautiful Day

An Aussie themed card from an Aussie girl... my card today bears - gum (Eucalyptus) leaves and blossoms, in two dimensions....Inspired by the stem of pink flowers in the photo below. Firstly I stamped my background foliage in lightly with Distress Ink and used pencil to colour in just a few pieces. Then I die cut some gum foliage in two shades of green card and also the small sections of the flowers in crimson and green again to make my flowers 'pop'. I smooched the edges of my image panel and stamped on my sentiment, then adhered the layers on a green card, finally I added my die cuts. I am posting to Stamplorations CUTplorations May challenge,  also Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

We are rapidly nearing the end of the month and I find myself making another Christmas card... one for 52 (Christmas) card challenge with colour theme of Yellow, Kraft and Gold. I found this a bit of a challenge and in the end decided to keep it simple and have created a card wrapped in ribbon as a gift with tag attached. I die cut a stitched tag and trimmed some pale yellow card to fit which I spritzed with Perfect Pearls then stamped on my 'To".  I die cut my sentiment in shiny gold card and attached it to the tag.  Then from  my stash of backgrounds I found this soft creamy pearly piece and smooched the edges in pale yellow.  I attached the sparkly gold ribbon and bow and finally the tag.  I am also posting to Rudolph Days challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

Over at Muse Card challenge #218 this week, Ardyth is celebrating a special birthday and we are to CASE one of her delightful card creations - I love her style.
I have selected the card (below) for my card...focusing on her layout with her flowers arranged along one side and also the colours - blue, pink and yellow.  I stamped and embossed my flowers a number of times using a mask and silver embossing powder and then used Distress Inks to colour the image.  I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and to finish add a silver embossed stamped sentiment and a few scattered sequins.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Merry Christmas

Here I have another Christmas card for this week - my stash is growing!!
ABC Christmas challenge for May is the letters "J" and "K"... I'm choosing "K" - for Keep it Simple.  And for this week the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday WWC120 is Christmas inspired by Gail's cute photo below - I've stuck with the 'cute' image and red and brown colour theme .... So I've made a simple cute card. I thing this stamped image is rather nice - the reindeer with the little robin which I've watercoloured with Distress Inks and added some glitter glue to the snowflakes and snow. I smooched the edge of my panel with red ink and to finish add a spotty red ribbon and stamped layered sentiment cut on a stitched label.  Thanks for taking a peek

Crazy Birds 'pop up' in a box Garden

I love fun, interactive cards so when I saw Kims inspiration (below) for the Muse challenge #217, this week I just had to make on of these pop up box cards.  I made the box and covered the flaps with DP with birds so thought it would be great to add some Crazy Birds.  I stamped each of them in a different colour Distress Ink and then coloured them in with the same. I fussy cut them and then die cut some different flowers and foliage and arranged them with the birds on the insert layers of the box. To finish I added some gems to the flower centers.  I haven't added a sentiment but left it off till the occasion to use it comes by.  Thanks for taking a peek

Wonderful ... fabulous

Last night found me back at my desk not wanting to watch football.... and with a panel of soft watercolours, I masked off a section and stamped on my background alphabet script in three shades of Distress Ink.  Then I stamped my bird image in black and used Distress Inks to colour it.  To finish I stamped the sentiment and added a few sequins.  I have used both the layout and theme from the May Stamplorations Theme and Sketch challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek

Pretty Posy

Good morning on this beautiful sunny Autumn day and for me my card is quite meaningful as this week I have spent some lovely mornings digging and re-arranging my garden.  I love the soft pretty colours on this card....and I think the blues could be seen as 'feminine' for the May Stamplorations CAS card challenge - option Feminine Colours.... Also the added splashes of Red flowers fits nicely with Happy Little Stampers May Watercolour challenge - option - Red.  I stamped and embossed my posy image in soft gold and watercoloured with Brushos. I used an oval die to mostly cut around my image and hand cut the overlap. Then found this lovely soft blue DP and ribbon to finish my card. I have left the card without a sentiment so I can use it for any occasion - which just might suit my mum who is recovering from a knee replacement.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Kissmas

When I saw the theme; Mistletoe, for this weeks #249 Merry Monday challenge I knew right off I had this little House Mouse stamp to use, and then found I also had a mistletoe branch.  I stamped my images in brown and coloured them with Distress Inks, then fussy cut the mistletoe.  I had this cute embossed sentiment in my stash and just smooched the edges with pale blue.  Then I assembled the card with two layers and to finish arranged the mistletoe sprigs.

Merry and Bright

This month Kimberley has a lovely card for the Muse: Christmas Vision #80 ... and here is my interpretation - the elements of her card that I was inspired by are - firstly the two blue birds, and the blue background. red (berries) spots of colour and the red bow.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut my birds and then used a scalloped die for my wreath shape - I stamped some pine foliage on it on which to sit my birds. To finish I added a 3D mounted sentiment and mini bow.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

Some quiet watercolouring this afternoon and I have made this floral birthday card.  I haven't used this wood mounted stamps for a very long time and am happy that I decided to colour the flowers in different colours as I'd normally make them all the one colour - I used my Brushos and then I stamped on this old sentiment and used a zigzag border die to emboss around my image panel. To finish I mounted it on a textured card. I am posting to Muse challenge #216 - inspiration by Jenni Murray; I have used her layout and floral images for my inspiration. And also to CAS Watercolour May challenge - Flowers.  Thanks for taking a peek

Hello

Hi and hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend...lots of sunshine and nice temperature here.... my card today bears my  Tag for the Tag You're It!! #71 challenge inspired by Lindsey. - the beautiful contrast with the red and white really caught my eye and of course I just love flowers so there was my image. First I cut my tag with one end of  Scalloped Label die and lengthened it a bit and rounded off the ends. Then stamped my image on a smaller rectangle of card and coloured it with Brushos and smooched the edge in red. I stamped the sentiment and hand cut around it so I could 3D mount it to the corner.  I usually leave my tag as is, but today decided to mount it to a card.... so I die cut a dotty strip to a white top panel and layered a red card underneath then attached my tag.  I do like how it has turned out.  I am also posting to Rubber Dance Theme challenge - Rule of Three.... I have incorporated three layers - a red background, a die cut top panel and a tag, also three flowers on my stamped image. Thanks for taking a peek

May the Spirit of Christmas bring you Joy

Seems this month I've been otherwise occupied as we've had some visitors and I think this Christmas card is the first.  So today I am playing along with 52 (Christmas) card challenge CCT09 sketch which incorporated multiple layers.... haven't made one of those for a while either.  I hunted through my stash of die cut shapes and this maroon one took my fancy so then I sought out some matching designer papers.  I stamped on my sentiment in silver and found some more pine cones to fussy cut and finished the card with some gems and jute thread.  Thanks for taking a peek
