Winter Scene

It's kind of weird making Christmas cards with wintery snow scenes for people like me who live in a tropical climate.... but we do and here I have finished a card that has been waiting in pieces for some time... of course when I got this freebie snowflake die I had to die cut it to see how it looked and then from my stash this sky background - smooched Distress Inks - and there they sat... then recently visiting my friend for a stamping sessions I die cut some cute deer for her stash.... and they came in handy with a light sponge of brown DI, to complete my winter scene...I added some torn card for a snow drift at the bottom.

Sparkle this Christmas

Today my leg isn't giving me as much 'curry' - less swollen and minimal pain (probably because I've spent a few days with it up resting) and I really felt like making cards....  SOOO I experimented a bit with my baby wipes and stencils... truthfully I haven't had much luck with lifting colour with BW but today I'm happy.  I smooched a good layer of blues Distress Inks on white card and then decided to lay a new Baby Wipe on top of the starry stencil and used my brayer to 'lift' the colour...yeah it worked.... I really liked how it turned out (last pic) but notice how much the DI soften as the panel dried.  Then I trimmed the panel, curved the corners and used a silver glitter gel pen to add sparkle to one of the stars and added a border of silver glitter card to match in with the star and my die cut sentiment... silver embossed the die cut and glued on extra sparkly glitter.  To finish I stamped the rest of the sentiment on the card and attached my front panel.

Merry Christmas

Sometimes it's fun and relaxing to make a card with no stamping and so today I have a CAS card using an embossing folder and die cuts....all white with maroon.  I embossed the white background panel, die cut my sentiment.. in maroon metallic paper and with the accompanying die to shadow in white and attached this with foam tape to the card... then to finish I added a die cut tree with maroon pearls for decoration.  I am playing along with Jingle Belles challenge - Text Me. This afternoon I have a Christmas card using and embossing folder.... I dry embossed the tree on white card, then lightly dabbed Versamark ink over the raised area... I used post it notes to mask the white card and an anti static pad to help - I sprinkled on gold EP and heat set it. Then to finish I added a metallic red die cut sentiment and a glitter gold layer to border the panel.  I am playing along with Just Us Girls Wild Card Week #481 - Embossing Folders and also The Holly and Ivy Christmas challenge #46 - Anything Goes.   Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it... happy card making

Jingle Bells

With March well underway, I'm happy to be sharing my second card for the March CAS Christmas challenge - Deer, and adding to my small stash. First I created the sky background on my front panel by masking off the edges and using a 'slope' mask and sponging with blue DOX..  Next I die cut my deer in browns and his antlers in dull gold, then die cut my sleigh in shiny gold card and red for the body.  Attached all my elements and added some gold thread for reins and a stamped sentiment.

Merry Christmas

A late afternoon card for the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge CCT20 - use canvas or wood from you stash.  I have selected a background panel of artist canvas from a pad way back in the bottom of a drawer, which I edged with gold ink.  Then found a stamped sentiment in my stash in pearl gold embossing and layered it onto a light gold paper.  To finish I die cut a poinsettia from from cream and gold card and added a touch of gold ink and a few pearls.  I am also posting to The Holly and Ivy Challenge #18 - Anything Goes. Challenge # 18 - Anything Christmas Goes

Today I have a 'pink' Christmas card for the current Jingle Belles challenge - Pink for a Cure.  I used DOX to make my background as they give a softness to the colour.  Then I laid my tree die face down on the same ink pad and carefully onto white card to give the cutting edge some colour when I ran it through the Cuttlebug.  I die cut some snowy slopes and glittery stars and my 'peace' sentiment. Finally I mounted it to a white card and to finish added a silver glitter star.  I am also posting to Holly and Ivy Challenge #17 - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Winter Sports theme at Christmas Card Throwdown CCT19 .... I found this olde fashioned snow scene on some DP - it has a glittery finish so it's all sparkly.  I teamed it with some matching red and green papers and found the sentiment in a paper pad too.  I am also posting to Anything Goes challenge at Holly and Ivy Christmas challenges.  Thanks for taking a peek

Wishing You Joy

A Christmas card for a change this time.... this one is for Merry Monday challenge #255 - Joy.  I stamped this Christmas tree image in navy on white card so the snow looks quite good - to add a lift I coloured the baubles with Twinkling H2Os and also added some green under the snow for the branches. Used a dark red back panel to bring out the colours and also to display my die cut 'JOY'.  I attached to a white card and added a stamped sentiment and mini snowflake. Wishing You the Joys of the Season

Of course Robins would have to be a favourite bird for me from a very young age seeing as I'm Robyn too... so I do enjoy putting a wee red Robin on a card.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut my bird image. Then created my scene with a masked sponged snowy skyline sprinkled with water to achieve some falling snow and then stamped on some pine branches in green Distress Inks. To finish I layered my panel on red, foam taped on my Robin, tied on a red bow and stamped my sentiment.
