Season's Greetings

Nice to be growing my Christmas card stash again this month... with the
- with a lovely photo prompt I was inspired by

Some time ago a friend gifted me this die cut Sled from Elizabeth Crafts and it was just perfect for this challenge.
  • The sled with die cut in light grain wood card, so I added some depth with Distress Ink gathered twigs and glued silver micorbeads in the spots directed, then tied a red and white twine for the rope
  • Found some nice pale green patterned paper for the background and cut some snow slopes from white glitter card.. attached to a white card
  • To finish I added some holly and a poinsettia flower from my stash and a stamped and silver embossed sentiment from Clearly Besotted: Simply Said Christmas set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.... have a Wonderful Crafty day,    Cheers Robyn

A Couple of Christmas Cards

Hi there and thanks for popping over to my blog...
End of the month so time to join in the Christmas stash building over at
Rudolph Day March Challenge
And I tried my hand at some loooooose watercolouring, not too successfully either as the front panels both got wrinkles

This Pinecones background stamp is from Simon Says and was a gift from a special friend... first time I have used it as it is quite large.  Chose one corner and inked and stamped with Versafine vintage sepia...then attacked it with Distress Inks.. mown lawn, rustic wilderness, brushed corduroy, gathered twig...  Then stamped the sentiment - Penny Black: Dot Christmas Wish, with Versamark and red embossed with Sizzix holly berry.

For my second card... I stamped and silver embossed the image from Stamps Happen: Joy.  I attacked this one with Distress Inks too... candied apple, crackling campfire, mown lawn, rustic wilderness, black soot..... not much else to do as the sentiment is part of the large stamp.
Hope you're enjoying your week with some creative time
hugs Robyn

NOT Another Birthday

Some quiet moments before our NRL team the Cowboys play their match....  just enough for me to finish this card and post it, for the Let's Squash It!! challenge #18 - Emboss/Deboss

Felt a wee bit lazy after I embossed my panel and found this way old stamped image in my stash...
  • Jo inspired me to use some of those border EF we all have... I selected these two different ones and cream card and flipped both once and the diamond one a second time for my rows of embossed/debossed patterned panel
  • Blended Distress Ink twisted citron around the edge and attached the panel to a blue card.
  • I used coloured pencils to colour the frazzled lady image, trimmed the panel and layered it with lime green card then fixed it to the card
  • To finish I generated the sentiment on the computer, stuck to white card and then onto the card

The embossing folders are from Papercraft Essential - Totally Tropical (diamond one) and the floral is from Australian Simply Cards - Floral Flutter

Three Floral Cards

Enjoying some time finishing off a few more cards this afternoon.... after finishing off the latest Hexie Motifs for a CAL that I've joined...

These are this weeks motifs

and these are last weeks.

I haven't made hexagons before so it's an interesting project

Now for my cards.... I'm playing along with four challenges with these

Using a new stamp from  STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #5, stamped with Versafine smokey grey and watercoloured with Distress Oxides - kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry, twisted citron, mown lawn, trimmed the panel and attached to a white card.  Stamped and black embossed sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Dandelion Wishes set, on green card and attached with foam dots.

I used a new stencil for the flowers on this slimline card... Bloom Collage stencil from ARTplorations,  and blended over Distress Oxides... carved pumpkin, fossilised amber, mustard seed.  Then added some mustard seed DO stencilled dots with Kaisercraft Spotty stencil.   I die cut a large Birthday from yellow card with CUTplorations die and attached to a black card strip with a mini stamped 'wishes' from Hero Arts Petite Birthday set.... assembled the elements on an orange card

I die cut the elements in white card... the lattice is from Uniquely Creative and the flowers are Sizzix - Wildflower Stems #1.  Watercoloured the flowers with Distress Oxides - fossilised amber, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon, twisted citron, rustic wilderness.  Chose a patterned paper from my stash and attached the elements with a stamped and clear embossed sentiment - Happy Little Stampers - Fun birthday sentiment set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a Wonderful Weekend

Cheers Robyn

Happy Birthday

Firstly I must tell you we have had a reprieve from the heat with a few days of rain spilling 2 inches of rain and bring some cloudy overcast coooooler days, so everything including myself, is feeling refreshed.

So as promised I'm back with another card for the Let's Squash It! challenge #20 Emboss/Deboss  and this time I've used the same embossing folder

Recently a friend passed on some unwanted items and this EF was included...no name, but it lay on my desk and I just thought to see if I could run it through the Cuttlebug both corners with the EF flipped
  • Embossed/debossed the white card.... and seeing that some of the debossing was a bit flattened I took out my old embossing stylus and placed the card back in the EF and went over the flattened parts with the stylus
  • Using Distress Oxide bundled sage I blended colour over the whole panel, so the top half highlighted the raised pattern and the bottom left it white, I also blended some DO mown lawn around the edge
  • Die cut some leaves and flowers from Sizzix Flunky Floral #2 set and added some colour with Distress Ink fossilised amber and spiced marmalade, to the flowers
  • Stamped and gold embossed the sentiment from Dark Room Door Happy Birthday set, on strip of black card
  • Attached all the elements to a white card and added the green leafy cutouts too

Thanks for stopping by my blog,   have a Wonderful Creative day,

Cheers Robyn

Five Spring cards

If you know me, you know I just love Flowers and making floral cards.... so ...

at last I've finished five cards to share with you today......

With these cards I am joining in with the SPRING challenge at Four Seasons challenge

Stamped this image Blossom Sprays #2 from STAMPlorations, with Versamark and silver embossed, also the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers: Dandelion Wishes set, then watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Trimmed the panel and attached to white card with foam sheet.  I am also joining in the STAMPlorations Never Ending - Anything Goes challenge

For a change I stamped this image from STAMPlorations In Bloom: Darling Dog Roses, with Versamark and Gold embossed, then watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Stamped the sentiment and gold embossed too - from Cardmaking & Papercraft - All Seasons Wreath set.  Trimmed the panel and layered with matching orange border on a white card.   I am also joining in the STAMPlorations Never Ending - Anything Goes challenge

Stamped this Morning Glory image from Chocolate Baroque with Verafine smokey grey and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Die cut the panel with Stitched die from CUTplorations and mounted to a white card with dark purple border.

A little bit of masking with this card using Altnew Christmas Rose set, silver embossed and watercoloured with Distress Inks, sentiment from Close to my Heart: Joyful birthday occasions, stamped with Versamark and silver embossed. Also added some dots to the flower centres with embossing pen and silver embossed these too.  Layered the panel with an aqua border onto a light blue card

This image is from Power Poppy: Everything's even Rosier set - stamped with Versafine smokey grey and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Stamped sentiment from Cardmaking & Papercraft: All Seasons Wreath set, and embossed with silver.  Layered the front panel with lemon border and attached to a dark aqua card.   I am also playing along with Double 'D' challenge - Something with a Handle.

Wishing You a BERRY Happy Birthday

A bit of fun with Embossing Folders this afternoon for the

Let's Squash It!  challenge 18 - Emboss/Deboss

Firstly I selected that very old Cuttlebug EF - Swiss Dots and embossed on white card.  Then I flipped it to the debossed side and used a brayer to colour the whole surface with Distress Oxide: kitsch flamingo.

Then I embossed the panel coloured side up with Rose Leaf EF from Ultimate Crafts.   Then coloured the raised leaves and berries with Distress Oxides: bundled sage, mowed lawn, festive berries.  Used scraps of paper as masks to try and keep the pink areas cleanish.

The printed a sentiment on the computer and attached to the panel with a red card layer and fixed this to a white card

Then I read the brief properly and I was supposed to use the same EF.... oh well, thought I'd still join in the fun and I'll have another look at my EFs and create another card.... sorry Jo and Gail
Thanks for stopping by my blog,   enjoy your day,   Cheers Robyn

Tis the Season.... so ... Let it Snow

Three cards today to share with you for the following challenges

I ended up with two cards - after I trimmed the lovely wintery scene pattern paper for the first card I had a long strip left which was perfect for a slim line card

First I decided to make a shaker card..
  • Die cut the Snowflake Frame (Dies by Chloe) from white card
  • Attached clear cellophane to the back
  • Trimmed winter scene patterned paper to fit and with foam sheet sandwiched between - added some die cut snowflakes... various dies, from sparkly glitter cards, also added some sequins
  • Attached to a white card and finished by stamping sentiment (a magazine freebie-winter wonderland) with Versamark and Silver embossing powder

Slim line card much quicker to make
  • Spritzed the winter scene PP with Mister Huey's Shine Mist and attached to white slim card
  • Die cut the sentiment from Avery Elle: Let it Snow set, from blue glitter card
  • Added die cut snowflakes from my stash... adding glitter glue to them and few dots on the scene

My third card is for Peace on Earth challenge
  • Die cut the wreath from Tattered Lace: Festive Wreath & Bow in white card
  • Watercoloured the wreath with Distress Inks: candied apple, fired brick, mown lawn, twisted citron, rustic wilderness
  • Die cut some more holly leaves from Card Making Magic: Yuletide Wishes set, from green card
  • Trimmed red and white spot PP to it white card, attached the wreath with foam tape, arranging the extra leaves behind it.
  • Found a stamped sentiment in my stash and glued that in place
