Hello Friend

Today I am playing with my Brushos - I love the vibrant colours and you never know how the panel will turn out.  I am playing along with Stamplorations - Cutplorations October challenge and decided to use the colour theme from the inspiration pic. Stamped and embossed my Stamplorations Helenium flower in white.  And then sprinkled on four colours of Brushos and spritzed madly...came up beautifully. I layered the panel on white and red before mounting on a black card.  Then to finish I added a black card strip to display my my die cut "hello" that I coloured with the same leaf green Brushos... then a final small "friend" stamp.  Thanks for taking a peek

Thinking of You

A final card today and....it's not a Christmas one... I thought I'd like to have a go with the Embossing on Vellum challenge at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge for October.  I chose to dry emboss my mauve coloured vellum with a floral embossing folder to see how it would take... not bad but now what to do with it.  I decided to use the second die cut frame that Greta sent me in with her card swap for Society of Stampaholics. I cut a window and then trimmed around the vellum in a rectangle but also leaving some embossing to overlap. In the end I decided not to use markers to shade the back of the flowers - I know I'd mess it up and I'm glad I didn't.  To finish I adhered some ribbon across the corners, added a few flowers and leave and finally a sentient.  Thanks for taking a peek

Wishing you Peace now and always

It's been a busy week and next week we're off for a few days break so I'm trying to make a few cards this quiet Sunday afternoon.  This is my second - for the Merry Monday #219 challenge - use a bird on your card.  Well a quick card was needed and I  can't go past this peace dove stamp - so I stamp and embossed him in white on navy card... then it just look too much blue.... and there on my desk are these lovely die cut frames Greta included with her card for the Society of Stampaholics card swap. I cut my image from the center and used the used rest as the backing to the lattice. Then simple mounted it on a cream card and added some Interference gold to the leaves.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

I looked back through the the past sketches at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown and selected the July 2016 Sketch for my inspiration.  I had stamped and embossed this Christmas tree last weekend with my friend Vikki's stamp and love how it turned out and fitted quite nicely with the sketch. Then I created a round mask and sponged Distress Ink for the night time sky, and stamped on a couple of trees to create a small scene.   Attached my panel to a metallic blue layer, added a glittery star and gel pen twinkles, and a touch of white gel pen snow, then finished off with a stamp embossed sentiment. I am also posting my card to Shopping Our Stash week 275 - the theme is Three Trees and my card sits nicely with this challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

Hello there on this fine windy day here in Townsville and I have a quiet free afternoon, so I'm at my desk to make a card or two.  My first is for the Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies.  It's not very often I have a card with no stamping but I got this poinsettia flower die free with a mag and just had to see how it looked.... I cut two of the smaller dies and while still in place inked up the internal cut to give veins to the flower.  I cut an extra larger flower in green for the foliage. Then I had this scrap of DP and love the different colours so matched it with a layer and onto a beige metallic card.  Just finished off with a cream die cut sentiment and tiny gems for the flower center. Thanks for taking a peek

Friday Smiles

So it's been one crazy busy week keep - but all full of good fun and lots of smiles.
As you may know it was Sophies 3rd Birthday on Wednesday, so there was a family dinner with cake to celebrate ...

and here are the doll cots I was working on last week
complete with mattress, pillow, sheet set and blanket.
And of course with the leftover material I made nappy bags
Then Thursday they visited Nannys house and found these waiting for them.... but silly Nanny left the SD card out of the camera and only now realised I have no pics to share.
Of course Sophie loved hers, Mia is a bit a little but she copies everything her big sister does...
Afterwards we took them to the waterpark, it's just been refurbished and the girls had a lovely time.
Well I'm late again but best get moving as the double party is on this morning - so I'm making sure the camera is all set up... ha ha dumb Nan.
Hope you've all had a wonderful week with plenty to smile about - as we know life is too short to not be happy.... join in and share over at Annie's blog .... and have a fabulous weekend .... whoopie - 13 little kids at the Minnie Mouse party and maybe a pic or two next week

Christmas - the most wonderful time of the year

This week Christmas Card Challenges #46 and also the October Rudolph Days challenge are both "Anything Goes".  So here is a santa card for the challenges....I really like this stamp but have struggled to ink it up nicely to stamp but discovered that if I use a brayer to apply the ink I get a lovely even cover and perfect stamped image.  Because the image is quite finely detailed just inking with maroon is very effective....so I just layered the panel onto a celadon green coloured layer and a matching maroon onto a white card and then finished off with a gold embossed sentiment that I also layered and 3D mounted.  Thanks for taking a peek

October Rudolph Days Challenge

Christmas Wishes

This card is so unusual for me as it doesn't have a stamped image just the sentiment.  I created the background panel with a lovely Christmas swirl embossing folder and chose to just insert the top and bottom in to the folder. Then I dug out a very old Kaleidacolour ink pad and using a brayer applied the ink to the raised sections of the embossing. Then I used the brayer to colour some diecut swirls and a snowflake. I positioned these around the stamped sentiment panel and finished off the card with some gems.  I am posting to 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown - use embossing, and the Happy Little Stampers October Christmas challenge who also have the theme - Embossing. Then as I've used dies on my card I am also posting to Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies.  Thanks for taking a peek

Tis the Season to be Jolly

I had a great day on Saturday stamping up  a few images from my friend Vikki's stamps....she has some real nice reindeer - so while the stamp was already inked I decided to make a 'flock' of reindeer for the Jingle Belles latest challenge - theme While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks or add an animal or bird to your card.  I stamped the swirly reindeer in brown ink and inked the edge of the panel in gold to match with the designer card - this unusual piece is from a Christmas pack by Kaiserkraft and I really like the dusky pink with the gold. Some glitter pen on the antlers, a few gems and a sentiment to finish the card.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

My card today is for the Muse: Christmas Vision #67 challenge and we are casing a card by Cornelia.  I am also playing along at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge and this month the inspiration is "Embossing".  I stamped this lovely scrolly Christmas tree in green and then just sprinkle gold embossing powder on one side and heat embossed it.  Then I made a mask and stamped the prancing reindeer.  I added a sentiment and then a few red gems, a punched glittery star and finally a narrow red ribbon between the top panel and the antique gold card - it looks great on the cobalt blue card.  Thanks for taking a peek

Friday Smiles

Share a smile... FRIDAY SMILES WEEK 192
Well it's Saturday morning here and I've just come in from watering the garden - we're only allowed to  hand hose water between 6 & 7 am and 6 & 7pm Tuesdays and Saturdays and that will be down to buckets if we don't get rain soon - and while I'm out there I remember that it's Saturday and I've forgotten all about Friday Smiles - where did yesterday go.   mmmmm I know - I have cut fabric all over the dining table and a half hemmed lace curtain....because my sewing machine decided it needed some attention and just stopped - it's in getting fixed.
Thought I'd better at least share a photo - so quickly here are my projects - it's the girls birthdays this week, so hubby and I are making them doll cots - you'll have to check back next week to see the results.
So here's the picture (because there's no actual photo), me out enjoying the fresh morning and really loving being out in the garden with my two girl friend chookies close by in-case I scare up a few juicy bugs in my water sprays and to my surprise my wonderful hubby quietly walks up behind me with a lovely cup of tea....yeah  ...... that cheered my heart and bought a big thank you smile to my face.
Hope you've all had a wonderful happy week, share with us over at Annies blog... cheers

Wishing you Joys of the Season

Well I'm hoping that birds classify as critters as this week I'm playing along with the Theme - Christmas Critters at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown.  I did a fair bit of fussy cutting with this stamped image - used brown ink to stamp the top half and black on the bottom, then coloured it in with Brushos and Distress Ink and 3D mounted the birds, pie and top of the perch.  I then oval die cut the image and smooched the edges and 3D mounted it on a piece of maroon card.  I matched this as best as I could with the only Plaid paper I have in my stash - of all the  paper and card I have just this  but it worked well with the colours. I had to mount it on a green card as white looked terrible.  I  finished with a die cut 'Christmas' and stamped sentiment with a couple of fussy cut holly sprays.  I am playing with Merry Monday #218 - Nina would like a card using Plaid.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

Well I decided to make another card for the Jingle Belles challenge - (gah!) Pink Christmas - which is in special memory of one of their dear friends - Leslie who lost her battle with cancer last Dec.  I am a BC survivor and thought it might be special to use this mini pink ribbon stamp I have.  So I stamped them on pink card and fussy cut them.  I stamped the sentiment on the pink front panel and embossed it in white,  then I used a die cut tree from my stash  but as it was a different colour white to the sentiment I decided to emboss it with white EP too.  I attached my tree to the pink panel which I'd mounted on a white layer and then decorated it with my ribbons and a few sequin stars.  I am also posting to Happy Little Stampers October Christmas challenge - Embossing.  Thanks for taking a peek
