Holly Jolly Christmas

Hello today - thanks for popping in and are you enjoying some creative time??
I am, and I'm adding to my Christmas stash today with this very bright shiny embossed card.

Before Christmas I shouted myself this 3D embossing folder and of course had to see how it impressed straight away.. but then the panel sat in my pile not knowing what to do with it - SO shiny on silver mirror card.   Today I decided to emboss and fussy cut three of the ornaments in different coloured metallic card and pop them up with foam tape..... it looks very cool, but very tricky to photograph.  Finished off attaching to a white card with a stamped and black embossed sentiment.

Hope you have a wonderful creative weekend and stay safe

Make a Wish

Firstly I just had to share some pic of the tiny cute little green tree frog I spied this morning in the ferns... he's all of about 1.5cm (1/2").

I used to love Dandelions as a kid - you know pick them, blow the seeds to the wind and make a wish.
I thought some splatters could represent the scattering seeds.
I found a nice smooched background in my stash with a fine silvery sparkle to it...
and stamped on my Dandelions in black, then splattered some black ink (not very well done either and I attempted to add some tiny stems to a few of the dots) and stamped and silver embossed the sentiment.  The panel didn't stand out against the white card so I ran the edge along a blue ink pad.  To finish I attached to a white card with foam sheet.

I am playing along with CAS Mix Up January challenge - Splatters ---  Mixed media elements:  stamping, heat embossing, splatters.
Thanks for popping over, have a wonderful creative weekend

Gnomes

So here I am again today with my attempts at some fun in my journal.

I happened to have a Gnome stamp set from a magazine freebie....  so stamped, masked and stamped some more, then used torn paper masks for the hills, masking for the stamped trees and lots of coloured pencil work. ....  then to come up with a fun comment.
Thanks for popping by, have a wonderful creative day.....     ROBYN

Happy Birthday

I haven't made a fun child's card for quite some time and this cute House Mouse Cupcake stamp is perfect.  Stamped and watercoloured the image with watercolour pencils and die cut the image using part of a hexagon die.  Used a Numbers embossing folder on blue card for the background and layered this with a red border.  To finish I added a die cut sentiment in red mounted on yellow card and a die cut '4' - then of course kids all love a bit of glitter so I added glitter glue to the flames, the 4 and big dobs around the image.

Hope you're enjoying some fun time making cards too  --  Cheers

Love from all of us

Hello and thanks for popping over, I hope you are enjoying your weekend
With this card I am combining silhouettes and splatters for two challenges...

I used Alcohol Inks in blues and purple on Yupo paper to create this night sky background.... I used a circle die to cut a mask and used a baby wipe to lift some colour for the 'moon' and lightly added yellow AI...I didn't want it to turn green.  I die cut three trees from black card and some snowy banks from white glitter card... after these were in place I added some white 'snow' splatters --- I am so not good at this but this time I went slowly with my brush tapping and I'm happy with the results... usually I have it all over everything on my desk.  To finish I attached the panel to a white card and added a stamped sentiment strip.

I am playing along with CAS Christmas January challenge - Silhouette   ...  and also CAS Mix Up January challenge - Splatters -- my MM elements are alcohol inks, acrylic paint, splatters, die cuts, masking and stamping,
Hope you get to enjoy some creative time this weekend, cheers

Hi, thanks for popping in....
I used one of my sunset photos as inspiration for the background watercolouring on my card today
A couple of days ago I shared a card made with this embossing folder and the technique to stamp directly onto the EF and mentioned that I did a few prints as I did enjoy the effect.

Stamped the image onto the EF in black, ran it through the Cuttlebug and then watercoloured the background with Distress Inks.  I decided to frame this image ... so used my largest oval die with white card and then ran that through the Cuttlebug with a dotty EF to break the starkness.  To finish I used a burnt red/orange card and stamped the sentiment on a strip and heat embossed in black, mounted this with foam tape and added some hand cut reeds.

Have a wonderful creative weekend

"B" Journal page

Something new from me today....   A Journal Page .....
I swap ATCs with a friend from Western Australia which is the opposite coast to me and our acquaintance is a bit of a story so we'll forego that --  Hi Catherine...  but I do try some mixed media elements on my ATCs with Catherine's encouragement.
Well I'm a card maker who sort of has strict guidelines I subconsciously follow - like everything has to be straight and matching - no free flow, mixed media type of style at all ...
now blogger friends Jo and Gail have inspired me to break out and give it a go...
and rather than make cards, I'm starting a journal....
.....and joining in the fun at Lost Coast Portal Creativity

I tore up a "B"ook page and attached them to my pages and then  basically stamped images - Birds, Butterflies, Borders in Brown and Blues ----  It's a start!!!
Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful day

Happy Birthday

Hi and thanks for visiting ......
I have a rare "Male" card for you today
and
thanks to the ladies at Let's Squash It challenge -
some more use of my embossing folders

I saw this technique ages ago and made a sample and then it disappeared into the UFO pile... but with the theme of Animals I thought to try it out.   This embossing folder lends itself beautifully  -  I stamped the 'trees reflection' in black Versafine directly onto the EF and with white card ran it through the Cuttlebug - I made a few examples so there will be some more cards and I really like how it turned out.   Watercoloured the background with Distress Inks, framed it with navy card.  Stamped and white embossed the sentiment on the bottom and to finish added a die cut bird that I coloured with pencils

Hope you have a wonderful creative day... cheers
NOTE: I looked through my Pinterest saves and found the technique that inspired me.. here is the link

Two Cards featuring Flowers

Sharing today some garden flowers that are blooming at present... Beehive Ginger, and hanging baskets of begonias.
And it's time for the first 2021 Twofer Card Challenge of the year - #34 - Flowers .......  right up my alley
AND they're celebrating the fourth year of challenges  - well done Darnell and your design team

Today I've chosen to use a flower die on both my cards - birthday and get well cards

For my birthday card I die cut the flower on white card and used a brush to apply some Versamark to the petals and added peony scarlet Magical Micas with a light spray of water - I did the same to the flower centre using a tiny dots stamp and Versamark and gold Perfect Pearls.  I watercoloured the stem with Distress Ink.  Next I created the pink background - stamping Picked Raspberry DO using bubble wrap.  I die cut a stitched rectangle in matching pink card and used an oriental script stamp and Versamark with gold Perfect Pearls, the stamped and white embossed the sentiment.

For something different for my Get Well card I used a long slim design using three die cut flowers - tops only from an Alcohol Ink background and then the stems from a green AI piece.  I used the bubble wrap to add black ink to the flower centres and heat embossed with black EP.  Next I die cut the vase from vellum and added some detail with Iced Spruce DI....then stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and die cut the label shape to fit.  Lastly I assembled all the elements with foam tape on a cream dry embossed background.

I am also playing along with The Flower Challenge #52 - Heat or Dry Embossing --  I have used both heat and dry embossing on my Get Well card
I appreciate your visit and have a wonderful week with some creative time
