Floral Decorated Small Tin

I had such fun decorating a box with flowers in challenge 1 -- at Beautiful Blossoms,  that I've been collecting other items I can turn into pretty objects

I just love some recently acquired pattern cardstock and decided to use this piece with a lovely floral border ----- then got busy with my Cuttlebug and die cut some layered flowers from Sizzix Small Tattered Florals set, and arranged the flowers around the patterned paper flower and on the lid... and to finish I added some white Crystal Drops

Double embossing resist

Here today with a couple of cards I made using the backgrounds I created with the
Deboss Inky Resist Technique the ladies at Group of Seven Cardmakers
have shared with us this month

This background with created using the Embossing Folder Flower Pod Background from Darice, white embossed the raised areas and smooched with Distress Inks and Oxides - Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Storm Sky.  Finished with a die cut sentiment (Curly Sue) in dark teal blue and layered with an old gold border on a white card

My second card features Distress Inks and Oxides in Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac and Mermaid Lagoon smooched over the white embossed Embossing Folder - Flourish from mprress.  Finished with a bright pink die cut sentiment from CUTplorations

And here are my latest crochet projects ... a knee rug for a friend made with yarn she gifted to me and I regifted back to her....  and my 5 afghan squares so far for the 2023 Moogly CAL .

Embossing, Stenciling and Birds

Afternoon and hope you are enjoying your Day.   I've been at my desk putting finishing touches to a few cards.

Happy Little Stampers challenges resume this month and I have two cards featuring Birds

For my first card, I combined an embossed background with and stamped image...  I watercoloured the kingfishers (Stamploratins - Small Birds set) with Distress Inks and fussy cut them out.  To add interest to the background I used white core blue card and lightly sanded the water ripple and blended darker blue ink over the fish.  Finished with a stamped sentiment and attached the birds with foam tape. I am playing along with the HLS Watercolour Challenge + optional: Wings, I am also joining in the March challenge at Stamping Sensations -Anything stamped with option Wings and Tails

My second card is for the HLS March Stencil Challenge - Anything Goes, and features stamped birds on a stenciled background... I think this looks a bit like feathers. Used bird stamps from Stamplorations - Small Birds set, stamped in black, watercoloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut out.  I used Kaisercraft Stencil Arc and blended over Distress Oxide inks in yellow/orange colours.  Stamped the leafy branch with green ink and watercoloured too.  The black stamped sentiment is from Impression Obsession - Anytime Sentiment and the birds were added to finish the card.

A New Challenge ... Birds and Flower cards

The Ladies at Double 'D' have a NEW Challenge... right up my alley...

Here's my card for their March Challenge

Attached this sweet little die cut bird (Uniquely Creative - a friends die), which I watercoloured with Distress Inks,  to the background that I created using Distress Inks blended through Splash Stencil (from Craft Essentials).  Stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts- Petite Wishes) with black ink on a strip of lime green card and attached this with foam tape.    I am also playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge- ctd733.. pale blue, yellow and lime
My second card is for the

Love the pastel colours of the Moodboard (my card is a lot softer in real life).  Stamped the floral cake image (Stampin' Up -Happy Birthday to You set) and white embossed it... then watercoloured it with Distress Inks and fussy cut it out.  Stamped and white embossed the sentiment (Close to my Heart - Joyful Birthday Occasions set) and pale green card and attached to the pink patterned paper background with a zigzag die cut edge... finished the card using foam tape to attach the cake.

February Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Another month has flown by and I'm here today to reveal the February card I made and sent to Kati in Germany  for the Card Chain Challenge

For my card I combined the layout - inverted, with the colours - aqua, sand & brick red.
Created the background panel - stamping swirls and script over aqua card.  Then layered the bird images on dark red card and teamed them with some sand coloured patterned papers.  Used foam tape to achieve a layered look, and finished with a stamped and clear embossed sentiment... and a couple of embossed circles.

Thanks for stopping by my blog... have a Wonderful Day,  cheers Robyn
