A large crochet project finished, so time for some card making

Jingle Belles challenge - "Twas the Sketch before Christmas

Rummaged around and found some patterned papers that would go together, then in the leftovers pile I found the die cuts for the sentiment and a circle - together they looked like an ornament -  so I went with this theme and stamped and coloured some onto white card and assembled the pieces to match the sketch - finished off with a die cut sprig and gold thread for a hanger

My second card, was an easy one... this front panel was in my stash... the background colours are much deeper and the silver embossing shinier and all I needed to do was add two layers to frame the panel and finish off with a stamped sentiment...  Perfect for week 4 of

Final card fits with two challenges:

Stamped this lovely floral bunch and watercoloured with Distress Inks, added a darker purple layer to frame the image and attached to a purple card.

Birds and Baubles

Some fun on my desk this week with BIRDS being the theme at a number of challenges and as my friend recently lent me her quirky bird stamps (Ranger Dylusions) I just had to use them...

Darnells IDEAS prompt this week is A = Anything Goes

Triple B March challenge  - have a lovely mood board in Greens for their Birds, Blooms & Butterflies

Just Us Girls challenge #767 - have a Green/White and butterflies theme

Double D challenge - is also Birds

Stamped and silver embossed my two birds and fussy cut them out, then watercoloured with my Twinkling H2Os... still on my desk from last week... I made up extra wings so I could attach them with double sided foam tape.  On my first card I embossed a piece of patterned paper and them lightly added green distress ink on the raised area and finished off this card with a die cut butterfly and sentiment.

On my second card I embossed white card with a leafy EF and then fussy cut around the leaves to create a border across the bottom of a piece of pattern paper and finished with the stamped sentiment from the same set.   I am joining in the challenge for March at Can You Handle the Pressure

My next two cards are for Christmas.. make one - you might as well make two and I'm using the sketch at Just Add Ink challenge #743
also it's end of the month a Rudolph Days Christmas challenge

I've made a few of these bauble cards for my Christmas stash so far this year... they're fun and easy to make.   This time I stamped on a fit of foliage to hang the baubles... these are made with the top of a small container dipped in Distress Ink and loosely watercoloured, then add a hanger and thread with sparkly gel pen.

Well with the very wet, rainy weather we're having (so far over 2600 mm this year - that's 3 months - so we've broken all sorts of rain records) and lots of time inside, I've also managed to finish a crocheted lap-rug, made with squares joined together and a fancy border to finish

Using Embossing Folders

Been playing with my embossing folders and Distress Inks this week...

for Darnells IDEAS prompt

For some reason I thought to embossing patterned paper and then use my inks to highlight the raised embossing... REALLY HAPPY with my result.  Layered the panel on red and green to help lift the colours and then finished with a sentiment tag from the same set of papers I used for the embossing/

My second card came about by using a smooched panel from my stash, embossing it with a little bird themed folder and the used the nearby colours to highlight the birds... to finish I add this already to use fun bird from my stash and a sentiment I think you could use for a number of occasions.

I am going to join in the Triple B challenge for July

Thanks for stopping by my blog
have a Wonderful Day

Butterflies and Florals

Well I am enjoying being back making cards... and there's all sorts of them too

This butterfly one is from a gorgeous book of cards and envelopes gifted to me and then I've coloured this one with colouring pencils..

I'm joining in the March Triple B challenge

I've been at the Cuttlebug again cutting out dies  --- as prompted by Darnell's IDEAS.
Watercoloured the flowers on this Kaisercraft Posy Circle die cut, using Distress Inks and used an embossing pen to add silver embossing to the circles.  Added some layereing with patterned paper and a stamped silver embossed sentiment to finish.

This last card is made totally with Die Cuts prompted by Darnell's IDEAS week 2 Die Cuts...... Sizzix Mixed Media for background over a smooshed background from my stash.  Kaisercraft Vine leaves and an unknown Vase.... finished with sentiment CUTplorations - Everyday Sentiments

Two Bird Cards

Already the first month of 2024 is whooshing by, and sadly I've not spent much time at my desk.  Two cards today that I had started and happy to have completed and add to a couple of challenges. Glad that I've pushed my lazy bot to post these today because we have a cyclone forming of the Queensland coast heading straight at us - so we're getting ready for some fierce winds and lots of rain.

First card for the Triple B January challenge... inspired by this Mood Board.. not snowy but with pinks and blues.

Second card for the Stencil Fun challenge for January - Featuring Birds.
A stenciled leafy background for my die cut bird - using Distress Inks for both.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a Wonderful Day,  Cheers Robyn

This is my Briar Rose crocheted blanket (by Hooked on Sunshine), that my mum asked me to make for Chloe - her granddaughter (my niece) who is to be married in a February.
