Just because....

An oval shape is my feature to display my sentiment on this card for the Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge  Get in Shape.  I used an oval mask to help position my stamped images on the cream panel and watercolored the magnolias with Distress Inks.. Then I die cut my oval in cream and with the die in place lightly sponged purple  to give a light border to the die cut. After stamping on my sentiment I used foam tape to lift the shape and positioned it over the area masked off underneath.   I cut the panel to suit my purple card.  I am also playing along at Watercooler Wednesday WWC185  Anything Goes Challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek

Let your Dreams Set Sail

My 'Water' ATC for the August Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge features a yacht - stamped in black on a scrap of gloss card with Distress Inks sponged on but because of it's gloss finish it dries rapidly so there's no blending.  I added some marker and gel pen to the image and stamped on my sentiment to finish. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Hello Friend

For my card today I have used some school supply elements - for the theme It's Back 2 School at Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge.  I really delved into my boxes to come up with element seeing as my kids are adults with kids... so I found my old school colouring pencils, a manila folder, paper clip, page from a notebook and to finish a piece of washi tape.  I stamped my image on the note paper and coloured with pencils, and stamped on the sentiment.  I cut down the manila folder leaving the tab and attached the notepaper and a second stamped sentiment with a paper clio - I love how Julie added a tie of ribbon to her lovely card - so did the same here bringing the colours together.  Then to finish attached my front to a matching purple card.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Thinking of You

A card using a Stencil for the AAA Cards #122 CAS Game.... I used a stencil and three shades of Distress Oxide ink sponged onto my panel, to display my die cut floral.  I sponged colour on the die cut before attaching to my card and added a few spots of glitter glue for stamen.  To finish I stamped on my sentiment and used a green card base.  I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Two cards featuring Diamond Shapes

Well again I'm joining in the fun at Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge #8 - Geometric.  So this month I decided to use a stamp featuring a Diamond shape pattern on a Birthday card and a Fathers' Day card.
For my first card I stamped the diamond pattern with Versamark and heat embossed it with Pearl Gold EP.  Then I sponged Distress Inks over the stamping.  I stamped two sentiments on my card panel and to finish added my stamped and DI watercoloured 'dancer', fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

For my second card I stamped the Diamond pattern in black and cut them out individually and  sponged on Distress Oxides to colour them.  I arranged them in a border on the edge of a Distress Inked panel, drawing a black marker line frame to connect them.  Then I stamped my tool box, used Distress Ink to watercolour it and rough fussy cut it out.  To finish I mounted the panel on a blue card and stamped on my sentiment.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend...

O' Christmas Tree

This is my second quick card for the CAS Christmas August challenge - Tree.... I needed something easy for my card with my mind being elsewhere with spending some lovely relaxing time with my mum... and when I spied this tree in a DP pack - the lovely soft beige and blue colours caught my eye, so I simply trimmed the image and used foam tape to added it to a stitched die cut rectangle.  From the same pack with matching colours I added the music strip for some interest.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Merry Christmas

This morning I've grabbed some early time at my desk while my mum who's visiting has a sleep in, and I managed to make a couple of quick cards for CAS Christmas August challenge - Tree..
For this card I die cut some snowy slopes and then arranged my Christmas Trees triangle shapes which were hand cut from some sparkly Designer Card on the slopes.  I cut a white frame and mounted my panel on a white card and to finish added a stamped sentiment label.  I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC184 - Helen's "All About Holidays" challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday

A little more playing about with stencils and ink for the CAS Mix Up August challenge - Stencil Monoprint.   I used my starburst stencil with Distress Oxide ink.... first I coloured my card strip with Peacock Feather DO and then inked the stencil with Wilted Violet - a light water mist and onto my strip.... I love how it turned out.  I used a die cut 'happy' as a template to fussy cut a shadow in white card and brayered it with the purple ink, then used foam tape to lift the white 'happy'.  To finish I stamped and embossed my 'birthday' sentiment in black. My elements are stencil monoprint, stamping, heat embossing, die cuts and fussy cutting. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Birthday Wishes

I squeezed in some quiet time to watercolour this card today... trying to achieve a 'Glow' for the Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge... I'm happy but think I'll need to practice.  I used Distress Inks to watercolour my stamped image and then a curved stitched die to cut my panel. Then stamped on my sentiment and framed the panel with DP and dusky pink card.  I am also joining in the fun at Shopping Our Stash challenge #367 - Leaf it to me, and Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Wishing You Happiness

After I delved deeper into my stamp drawers I did actually find two more sunflower stamps... So I used those mini Distress Inks to add ink to this stamp and then spritzed it lightly with water and stamped onto watercolour card...on the smooth side - then I started to watercolour in the background blue... but the smooth side bleeds toooo much so I decided not to chuck it but cut around the affect area leaving some of the white card where I stamped my sentiment.  Then to finish I framed the panel with orange card onto a cream card.  I am playing along with CAS Watercolour August challenge - Sunflowers.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Thinking of You

Some more colouring from me today. An image from Power Poppy, water coloured with Distress Oxides which have given the panel a lovely soft finish to the bright colours... (the pic is a bit brighter than it really is).  I mounted the panel on a white background with foam tape and onto a white card.  To finish I added a die cut sentiment.  I am playing along with The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Happy Birthday

My birth stone is the beautiful blue sapphire.... which is the inspiration for a new challenge over at Power Poppy - Creative Confetti.  I stamped my image with grey ink and embossed with White Pearl EP then used Distress Oxides to watercolour.  Then I stamped and silver embossed my sentiment and used a stitched die to form my label.  I used a corner die, cutting it twice on opposite corners to create my background panel and strategically attached the two elements to cover the center where the die didn't cut.  To finish I added a few blue gems just like sparkly sapphires.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.
