Life is a Gift ATC

Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge for February is to use Stencils....
so today I have had some fun with Distress Oxides on shiny photographic card and a large medallion stencil, then used a baby wipe to bring up the colour.

I stamped a flower on the offcuts and used markers to colour it and fussy cut it out.  Then I printed off my quote and trimmed it to fit the ATC, and assembled all the pieces using a dark red card for the backing.

Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy crafting

Sending Hugs Your Way

For my tag today I used a background made with Distress Oxides - Faded Jeans and Candied Apple - I love how the colours sit on top of each other, not blending when dried between colours. I die cut a stitched tag and then used a stitched rectangle to trim the panel. Next I die cut two sprigs from scrap DO card and from the background scraps cut a few 'dots'.  To finish I trimmed my stamped sentiment and assembled the elements and tied on a matching ribbon.  I am playing along with Tag You're It!  Colour challenge #81 and Stamplorations TAGplorations February challenge - All About Love....(and hugs!)
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciated it, happy stamping

Birthday Wishes

A quick card this afternoon for a male birthday...  from my experiment stash, this piece made with Distress Oxides and the cling wrap technique... blues and browns very manish.... so all that was needed was a die cut sentiment in light grey card and attaching my panel to a bright blue card.  I am playing along at Watercooler Wednesday WWC209 - Marsha's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge and Seize the Birthday #159 - "Anything Goes".
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making.

Lady in the Red Hat

So I've had this large stamp out on my desk since the beginning of this months CAS Watercolour challenge - Red and Pink... and at last I've stamped her in grey ink and watercoloured her with Distress Oxides. I used a curved mask to reduce the size and then used a die to cut a curved border on that bottom corner before attaching to a white card with foam tape.

Peace

My second Christmas card today was inspired by a card we received this last Christmas (below) - loved the colours and then figured I could sketch down the dove and cut one out of white glitter card myself - then I lightly sponged some Peacock Feathers DO over a stencil onto the dove.  I found this die cut Peace in soft gold already to use in my stash and die cut a leaf sprig for the olive branch.  To finish I used Versamark to stamp some fancy swirls, and attached all to a white card.  I am again playing along at CAS Christmas February challenge - Peace.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making

Peace on Earth

Well I'm dragging the chain with some of my challenges this month... but happy to say that we're all dried out here, even baking a bit now with temps in the high 30s and humidity, but I'm relieved most of the clean up is in hand..... my poor drowned garden though will take some time to sort and recover.
Back to card making, today I've a couple of Christmas cards.
This one is quite simply and very CAS -- while sifting through my stamps, dies and papers for 'peace' inspiration, I found this gorgeous pink and copper sentiment in a DP pad along with copper paper to frame my center piece... simply layered these on a white card and finished with a die cut 'Peace' sentiment.  I am playing along with the Peace theme at CAS Christmas February challenge,
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it... happy get in early Christmas cardmaking.

Just a Note

Finally got around to making my card for The Library Challenge #26 - The Note by Zoe Folbigg.
I've used the book title and the colours on the cover as inspiration for my card... I stamped my floral note image in grey  and used Distress Oxides to water colour it - I stamped an extra pen, ink bottle and flowers and fussy cut them.  Then I die cut an oval in some matching red DP and assembled the elements, to finish I stamped the sentiment and attached with foam tape.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy reading/card making

Happy Birthday

Far too hot to be gardening today so I've been finishing off a few cards...
I cut down a large floral die cut and then collected the flower pieces and smooched them in Distress Inks and then replaced them.  I used the Loll's Splash Watercolour technique (here) to create my background, then gold embossed my sentiment before attaching my die cut flower to the corner.

I am playing along with challenges at AAA Cards CAS challenge #134 - One Corner, Back to Basics and Beyond challenge #21 - Paper Piecing, Stamplorations CAS Card challenge - using Optional Twist - Cerulean Blue and lastly Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies February challenge. Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it -- happy card making.

Happy Birthday

All the elements for this card are snippets from my stash... the die cut piece was already trimmed and the red Brushos background was easily trimmed to fit - I added a spritz of Perfect Pearls so it's all shimmery.  The stamped sentiment too from my stash - I really like this stamp - the layout and lettering and it belongs to my friend so when I visit I stamp a few up for later.  And to keep the card Monochromatic I fussy cut this little red stamped butterfly and added a couple pearls to finish.

I am playing along with The Paper Players PP429 - Clean and Simple challenge - Monochromatic, and also with Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge #346.  Thanks for visiting, I  really appreciate it.

You are my Sunshine

Hi I'm back again today with another card using Powdered Inks with Stencils... I've sprinkled yellow and tiny bit of purple Brushos over my stencil on white card and misted with water, then quickly lifted the stencil and let it dry.  I die cut a stitched frame for my panel and then used purple glitter cardstock to die cut my sentiment.
I am playing along at CAS Stencil February challenge - Powdered Inks and also Stamplorations ARTplorations Mixed Media February 'Anything Goes' challenge.
