Hey There!

I do enjoy a cup of tea... or coffee - to this afternoon I've made a card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers - Sunday Sip and Share challenge using the sketch (below) and inspired by Kerry's card.
I fussy cut a stamped cup from my stash and added a teabag tag.  Then for the background I stamped some dotty swirls in two shades and then a light aqua set for the steam.  I stamped on a sentiment and to finish layered the panel onto orange card onto an aqua card. I am also posting to Shopping Our Stash #326 - That's Sketchy - to use a sketch of our choice (see below). Thanks for taking a peek

Cherish our Friendship

A quiet Monday at my desk after a busy party weekend and I have a card for the CASology 272 challenge - Cherish.  I made the decorative strip with DOX - it's on glossy card so you have to remember to heat set it or it'll smudge.  The I coloured a die cut 'Cherish' with DOX to match and then stamped the rest of my sentiment in black, to finish I added a heart for my  'i' dot.  I am also posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Simon Says: Anything Goes

Joy

Today I am casing Eliza's gorgeous snowflake card for the Muse; Christmas Vision challenge 87. I love the colours, the simple clean feel, the sprinkle of sequins and gems and those snowflake dies are to die for too... so I've come up with these elements on my card.  I dry embossed my snowflake background, then die cut a few different snowflakes, adding some glitter to a couple and then slightly positioned them over those on the background.  To finish I added a die cut 'Joy' - I added some glitter glue pen to give it a lift and then a scattering of coloured sequins and gems. Merry Christmas

It's been a busy week/end with both our little grand daughters having birthdays so I'm glad I made a couple of extra cards during the month.  This Christmas card on a mid brown card (not as dark as this photo) with a simple bordered strip of Christmas DP and a poinsettia stamped and coloured with DOX and fussy cut.  Then to finish part of the sentiment in a die cut and the other stamped and embossed.
I am posting to Rudolf Days Challenge for October - Anything Goes and to Watercooler Wednesday WWC142 - "All About Christmas Challenge".  Thanks for taking a peek

Sending Good Thoughts Your Way

Another 4.5" square mini card (9x9cm) for the Power Poppy Power & Spark October challenge - mini & mighty.  For this card I thought just a stamped sentiment would compliment the lovely DP I used for the background. I fancy die cut my sentiment and framed it and the DP with mauve card and to finish added a lacy die cut edge and sequin.  Thanks for taking a peek

Best Wishes

I did enjoy making my mini card the other day so I've made a few more...
Using some nice DP that I unearthed from my "old" stash of 12x12s, I teamed it with my PP Rose, stamped in black Versafine and painted with Distress Inks. I added a matching knotted ribbon and to finish stamped on my sentiment.  My mini card is 4.5" square (9x9 cm).  I'm really liking the old world feel the DP gives it.  I am posting to Power Poppy's Power & Spark October challenge - mini & mighty.  Thanks for taking a peek

Thanks

Here I am again, supposed to be doing some sewing and I'm finding everything else to do instead - including sweeping the floor  !!!!
So I have another Autumn Leaves card for three challenges - CAS Watercolour - Fall Leaves,  Simon Says Wednesday photo inspiration challenge and Double "D" challenge - Leave it to me! --- that gorgeous yellow/orange and blue photo of the inspiration had me using this Brushos background to display my die cut leaves (cut from DOX coloured card with the veins highlighted through the die). Arranged on a white card and finished with a die cut sentiment.
This card is actually a lot softer in colour which I really liked but my camera work fails and has captured it much brighter - which I really nice too.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just for You

For this months Power Poppy - Power and Spark challenge we are asked to make a small card....
My gift card is 3"x 3" (8cm x 8cm) and I've used up some leftover DP from my stash. First I stamped my PP Rose in Pickled Raspberry DOX and used the same to water colour the image and fussy cut it.  Then I cut my DP to suit my size and decided to leave the part cut circle and underlay it with a matching script DP.  To finish I stamped on my sentiment and mounted the image with foam tape. I did enjoy making a my mini card and think this should happen more often.  Thanks for taking a peek

Christmas Wishes

I am supposed to be making a 4 year old girls birthday card.... no ideas, so I've a Christmas card instead..  The theme at Merry Monday challenge #261 is Add an Ornament to your card. I stamped, gold embossed and coloured my ornaments with Distress Inks, then fussy cut them.  I chose this dark maroon DP as a background and sponged the edges to blend with the card base, then stamped and gold embossed my sentiment.  I cut two pine sprigs in green card and mounted my ornaments with a gold thread hanger.
I think the ornaments look rich and vibrant on the dark background so I am also posting to ABC Christmas Challenge 'U' and 'V'  -- 'V' for Vibrant.  Thanks for taking a peek

Peace

Today I have a 'pink' Christmas card for the current Jingle Belles challenge - Pink for a Cure.  I used DOX to make my background as they give a softness to the colour.  Then I laid my tree die face down on the same ink pad and carefully onto white card to give the cutting edge some colour when I ran it through the Cuttlebug.  I die cut some snowy slopes and glittery stars and my 'peace' sentiment. Finally I mounted it to a white card and to finish added a silver glitter star.  I am also posting to Holly and Ivy Challenge #17 - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just a Note

Today I found some quiet time to watercolour this stamped image - then for some reason I decided to rough fussy cut only half of the image and square off the other two sides. Then I found some matching peach and blue paper to highlight the image and display my stamped sentiment.  Then to finish the card a scattering of sequins.... my colouring and sequins are my chosen two elements for the Just Add Ink challenge #381.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

This male birthday card is my attempt at using a black base for a CAS card.  I decided to see how sponged Distress Oxides would go layered onto a grey background - I used Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Black Soot and Broken China....they're not as bright as I thought but I don't mind the effect. Some of the sponging looked a bit like the workings of a clock - so I added a fussy cut, stamped, embossed watch to my stamped sentiment and to finish added a coiled paperclip as my metal element.
I am posting to CAS Mix Up - Layered Stencils, Stamping and Heat Embossing. Also The Male Room challenge #71 - Use Metal and Anything Goes at Seize the Birthday.  Thanks for taking a peek

Lovely Friend

I just love everything about Tracey's card (below) at Muse Challenge #237 this week... I think I've cased most aspects... one layer card, stamped image off the edge, lovely soft colouring of part of the image and sentiment in the bottom corner.. I've used one of my favourite floral stamps - Power Poppy Magnolias and by using DOX to paint my image it has a soft muted colouring.  I am the biggest fan of floral stamps and so I am also playing along at The Flower Challenge #13 use your favourite flower - where they are celebrating their first birthday - congrats girls.  Thanks for taking a peek

Kick Up Your Heels and Have Fun

From way back in my stash I had these stamped images just right for the challenge SOS#324 at Shopping Our Stash - If the shoe fits...  So I coloured the shoe with DOX and teamed it with this watercolour background panel. I mounted the sentiment on purple and decided to layer the panel on pinkish orange to match to sentiment colour.  To finish I rounded all the corners and glued on a few sequins and attached it all to a white card.  Thanks for taking a peek
