Spring Tulips

My birthday is the end of September... which represents to me my birthstone - Sapphire, and the beginning of Spring (living in the southern hemisphere).... so my colours are rich blue for the stone and bright yellow for the season.  I stamped my tulips in weathered wood Distress Ink so the outline would be subdued.  Then watercoloured my image with Distress Inks. I used some layering to bring out the colours with yellow and white and a blue card.  Die cut my image with a circle and mounted it to a die cut lacy doiley and to finish added a ribbon bow... I left off a sentiment, so I could use the card for Any Occasion.  I am playing along with Power Poppy Power and Spark October challenge - Motifs from your Birthday.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday

I was totally inspired by Stacy's lovely card (below) with her gorgeous silver embossed florals and beautifully coloured, then that fabulous die cut white on white background.... here is my Birthday card using these elements. I water coloured my image with Distress Inks and fussy cut it, arranged the image and silver embossed sentiment with foam tape and to finish added a few white pearls.  I am playing along with Power Poppy - Power & Spark challenge - Inspire Me, also playing along with Seize the Birthday challenge - Anything Goes, and Happy Little Stampers July Watercolour Challenge - Optional twist Birthday.

Never look back .....

Love to play along with Power Poppy Power and Spark challenge and this month it is a Pop of Colour with basic Black and White..... I had forgotten Christine had used pink in her lovely inspirational card and it just happened to be the colour I chose as background to my black stamped magnolias.  I stamped my image twice off the page and then stamped on my sentiment.  I had some fun trying to get a 'blended' look with my watercolouring using Distress Oxide but I am happy with the result. I added a tiny bit of bright pink to the flower centers and decided to have a go at 'ghosting' my sentiment (I only recently read about this technique), then to finish added a scattering of tiny black gems.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Happy Mothers' Day

This card has been a work in progress for a few weeks... I stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut my red roses...first, then followed the process of how to use them.  So I decided on a heart in the background - a white die cut heart that I dry embossed with tiny heart EF.  Then I used the die to cut an opening in my front panel, the white heart fitted snug but was a little lost so I smooched the edge with red ink.  The I used foam tape to raise my front panel and adhered the embossed heart to the card through the opening.  I arranged the flowers and used different thickness foam tape attach them.  Lastly I stamped my sentiment and die cut it t suit the size of the words then used the full die to cut a red shape to frame the label.
I am playing along with CAS Watercolour challenge for February - Heart theme.
Stamplorations February challenge - Paint-It-Red.
Also to Power Poppy Power & Spark challenge using the Love theme - because I dearly love my mum and know she'll love this card.

With Love

Roses, love and Valentine's Day go hand in hand and so today I have a card for someone special. I stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut my roses and then mounted them to a die cut frame backed with some DP with hearts.  To finish I used a grey card, added some sparkly gems and a die cut sentiment.  I am posting to Power Poppy's Power & Spark challenge - Love to Sparkle. Also to Just Us Girls - #426 challenge - word prompt - Love, and the Daily Marker 30  day Colouring challenge.. day 12.

Dream.....

Having an enjoyable week and have made a card other than Christmas....
for the Power Poppy Power & Spark November challenge - Portion Control.
I love using parts of stamps so just had to make one... I used a stamped sentiment on a white panel from my stash and luckily enough it had lots of space around it to 'off the page' stamp three sweet pea images from the PP Sweet Memories set.  I used DOX to water colour the images and then trimmed to size and used black card and a fine framing layer.  Then whoopie I found this gorgeous 'matching' DP in my stash - can't believe my luck - do you colour an image and then find you can't match it up with anything?  I do!!  So that lovely panel was all my card needed onto a white card.  To finish I added a few sequins for sparkle.  Thanks for taking a peek

Sending Good Thoughts Your Way

Another 4.5" square mini card (9x9cm) for the Power Poppy Power & Spark October challenge - mini & mighty.  For this card I thought just a stamped sentiment would compliment the lovely DP I used for the background. I fancy die cut my sentiment and framed it and the DP with mauve card and to finish added a lacy die cut edge and sequin.  Thanks for taking a peek

Best Wishes

I did enjoy making my mini card the other day so I've made a few more...
Using some nice DP that I unearthed from my "old" stash of 12x12s, I teamed it with my PP Rose, stamped in black Versafine and painted with Distress Inks. I added a matching knotted ribbon and to finish stamped on my sentiment.  My mini card is 4.5" square (9x9 cm).  I'm really liking the old world feel the DP gives it.  I am posting to Power Poppy's Power & Spark October challenge - mini & mighty.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just for You

For this months Power Poppy - Power and Spark challenge we are asked to make a small card....
My gift card is 3"x 3" (8cm x 8cm) and I've used up some leftover DP from my stash. First I stamped my PP Rose in Pickled Raspberry DOX and used the same to water colour the image and fussy cut it.  Then I cut my DP to suit my size and decided to leave the part cut circle and underlay it with a matching script DP.  To finish I stamped on my sentiment and mounted the image with foam tape. I did enjoy making a my mini card and think this should happen more often.  Thanks for taking a peek

Hope Your Day Absolutely Blooms

So excited to use my new Prairie Spirit stamp for this months Power & Spark challenge - Cozy Krafty Colouring.  I stamped my image in black on Kraft card and coloured it with pencils -that bit I enjoy - now the finishing off, selecting colours and a style not much more difficult.  So I've chosen to layer the image panel on blue and red card and mount to a light yellow card to help 'pop' the flowers. To finish I added a raffia bow.  Thanks for taking a peek
