Holly Christmas and Peaceful Dove cards

Squeezing in a card at the end of the month.....

(Can you believe we've already passed one month for 2022)

with Maureen, Sue and Jenny ... for the Rudolph Days Challenge

A card using some elements in my stash just waiting for me!!!
  • the gold embossed holly sprig from Chocolate Baroque: Christmas Flourish, only needed me to colour it up a bit... so I smooched it into some Distress Inks - shabby shutters, peeled paint and mown lawn
  • in the die cuts I found some holly leaves and berries from Card Making Magic - Yuletide Wishes
  • and the sentiment from Kaisercraft: Christmas Sentiments
  • just needed to put them all together with a matching green border

Again from my stash
  • This stamped and silver embossed Peace Dove from Stampendous which was already coloured.. I added some sparkle to the dove and leaves.
  • Mounted with foam sheet to a white frame and used some matching starry lilac patterned paper for the background

......and so Why didn't I do this earlier in the month, instead of being pushed for time??
Hope you are keeping safe and well, things are ramping up with Covid here in Australia and our deaths are sadly rising.   Enjoy your crafty time,   cheers Robyn

Two Gold and Silver Christmas Cards

With this stinky hot windy weather it's perfect for staying at your desk or crocheting watching the tennis on tv, with the air con on and that's where I've been most of the week

  • Stamped this Penny Black tree: Pine & Star with Versamark and silver heat embossed the tree and at the same time managed to just add gold EP to the star
  • Stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment from Kairsercraft: Under the gum tree leaves set

  • For this card I chose a Christmas word stamp from Imprint (Australia)
  • With Versamark I embossed the whole stamp with silver EP and heat set and then used an embossing pen to go over the large 'C' and added gold EP and heat set... it bubbled a little
  • with the embossing pen I added a scattering of small dots and gold embossed these.
  • Attached to a square card with foam sheet

I am playing along with CAS Christmas card challenge for January - Silver and Gold

Happy Birthday

Hello from hot blustery Queensland in Australia...

we've had strong winds for two days now and it's drying out my garden and blowing more leaves off the trees - don't want to venture outside except in the mornings when it's a tiny bit cooler and I need to water the pot plants.  How is it where you are?  I expect cold!!

Today I'm sharing a card for the Seize the Birthday challenge #230 - and I've used and embossing folder for my background.

  • Stamped and silver embossed the florals from STAMPlorations: Darling Dog Roses in the corners of the panel and watercoloured with Distress Inks: candied apple, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, shabby shutters, mown lawn...
  • Then I decided to fussy cut the inner edge and raise these pieces with foam sheet on the embossed background from Tim Holtz: Dot Matrix
  • I attached these to a white card and finished with a die cut sentiment Creative Expressions: mini happy birthday, cut from silver mirror card

I am also adding my card to the Never Ending Anything Goes challenge at STAMPlorations

Thanks for stopping by my blog

Enjoy your day, Robyn

Trio of Birthday Cards

Hi and how's life at your place....

Not much in the way of card making last week as we had the girls sleepover for 3 nights and they do keep you busy... Saturday I rested most of the day too pooped to move.  Here they are at the local shopping centre where they had different craft activities

So I got time today to finish off a few WIPs --  some loose watercolouring images I had started

  • This PSX Hibiscus was stamped with Versafine smokey grey and then watercoloured with Distress Inks:  ripe persimmon, mustard seed,  mown lawn, shabby shutters, salty ocean
  • Trimmed to a square panel and lastly added a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Dandelion Wishes, stamped with Versafine black and clear heat embossed

  • This Hero Arts Polka dot vase bouquet was stamped with black Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Oxide: kirsch flamingo, Distress Inks: mown lawn, mustard seed, fossilised amber, candied apple
  • Trimmed the panel and added a bright pink frame... stamping the sentiment in black Versafine, clear heat embossing - from Happy Little Stampers Fun Birthday Sentiment

  • Using this Stampendous Fresh Bloom stamp, I inked the stamp with Distress Ink: seedless preserves, mown lawn using the mini cubes
  • Then I loose watercoloured the image by dragging the colours from the stamped ink.  Added a few splats of seedless preserves
  • And stamped the sentiment from Close to my Heart -Joyful Birthday Occasions... used Versamark and heat embossed with Sizzix Fir Tree embossing powder

One of my favourite techniques is Loose Watercolouring.. not that I'm very good at straying out of the lines, but this process can give you lots of depth and interest for an image...
