Everything Beautiful has it's Moments

Today I have a card to show that I made for the Society of Stampaholics Card Chain challenge for April...Toni in US has let me know it has arrived safely.
I was rapt when the Distress Inked background turned out like this - soft and pretty.  I stamped and watercoloured the Stamplorations Cosmo flowers, fussy cut them and attached them upside-down with foam tape and then stamped the Kaisercraft sentiment on grey card and layered it on pink and doubled foam taped it over the ends of the flowers. Finished the card with a few pearls. Thanks for taking a peek

Our Beautiful World

the theme this week has been suggested by Ros
FLUTTER
These few photos of mine immediately came to mind...
The Spangled Drongoes used to join the Kookaburras in the mornings for a feed. Miraculously  I caught this one on camera. My hubby would toss the food into the air and the birds swoop in and catch it, they can "flutter" in place for quite a few seconds, and they come quite close- as you can see...

But really when I think of Flutter, Butterflies come to mind.
I do love butterflies and have been known to chase them around with the camera, not often catching one that has settled long enough or with wings open

Thanks for taking a peek at my photos, please pop over to the Our Beautiful World blog and check out the other team members photos and maybe join in and share your photos with us.

Rainy Day Fun

This morning I've finished off my House Mouse and Friends card - HMFMC192 - the theme is April Showers - aren't they the cutest umbrellas and don't we all love to stand in the rain and get a little bit wet especially when it hasn't rained for months.
I created the background panel using mists and stencils and then not having any rainbow card I made this panel with my distress Inks and paintbrush so I'm also playing along with Time Out challenges #29 with my rainbow and as this is an 'Ombre' effect I'm posting to CAS.ology Week 143 as well.  Friday Mashup #206 - Singing in the Rain  also have a wonderful prompt photo with 'Umbrellas' as a theme.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

It's APRIL SHOWERS for Challenge HMFMC192

To Someone Special

My second card this weekend is using the palette at ColourQ cQc#288 and the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#120.
I used Distress Ink sponged over a couple of stencils to create the background and then stamped over my birdcage, bird and sentiment. Layered this panel on kraft coloured card and on my white card. Quick and easy although I did mull over the image to use.
Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday tag card

Had a wonderful day yesterday with two friends, Vikki and Estelle crafting our hearts out.
I made this Clean and Simple style tag card for the Tag, Your It #20 challenge and used the colours from the inspirational photo at The Card Concept #33.
Stamped and white embossed my Chocolate Baroque flower and then Distress Ink coloured the tag and added some chevron strips. I used an embossing folder to create the frame on the white card, mounted the tag with ribbons attached and finished off with a stamped 'happy' and die cut 'birthday'.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friday Smiles

So the sun is just rising and I remembered it was Saturday and I'd missed my Friday Smiles post...but it is still Friday over in the UK..so here just a couple of photos making me smile this week
Of course I have to share one of Sophie... here she is with her mums new slippers....love shoes, and hats and bags and bangles...already a "just a girl" at 18 months.
And here's what I've been up to this week....chopping out a great heap of clumping golden canes (palms), s I've cut down about 8 of these clumps and now there's so much more sunlight in the yard my other plants with benefit.
Time to get up and more a few more pavers...
Pop over to Annies blog and share your "smiles"  and have a wonderful weekend -

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesdday??

..in my opinion!Hi and welcome again to my desk showing for WOYWW week 307. If you'd like to know more please pop of to our hostess Julias blog and read all about and while you there why not join in the fun.
So here is my desk this afternoon in Townsville Australia...yep not at home again - lucky there is room in the car to bring a crate of stamping stuff with me to fill in the hours when I'm not gardening or visiting our gorgeous GD Sophie; I'm grinning 'cause I got to baby sit this morning.
Anyway here is my desk/dining room table at our house (where our son lives). Just finishing off a couple of cards I started on the weekend. You can see my guillotine at the back, box of the essentials and far right box of Distress Inks. In the middle left some backgrounds I made with sprays and new stencils, then a couple of stamped images and pile of completed cards and tag. On my workpad a card I'm just finishing. Now I'd best get this posted as son will be home soon and we are cooking up Chicken Laksa for dinner over at the daughters home.
Cheers and thanks to everyone who dropped by my desk last week Robyn

Cherish Life

Very pleased that I have found time to make my tag for this months Tim's 12 Tags for 2015- April, as I am back travelling and visiting family while hubby is away with work. Glad I got to play with my friend Vikki on the weekend as I don't have any letter dies. I do like this months tag and techniques as I am more of a 'pretty' colours girl than dark.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday Bouquet

I'm away from my desk for a few weeks but I do manage to pack a crate of stamping gear, so today I have a CAS card using my Distress Inks to watercolour the Inspired by Stamping image for the Paper Players #241 challenge, also used the layout from CAS(E) this Sketch #119 and the theme at Curtain Call - Bouquet.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Hello....

Hi there and welcome to Sketch #32 at Stamplorations where I am happy to be Guest Designer. I live in Australia and am addicted to making cards and enjoy the challenge of the many blogs urging me on with their wonderful inspirational sketches and colour palettes.
I have made two cards with this sketch - this one with a die cut circle which I stamped with Versamark to give the leaf shadows and mounted it on a bright Distress Ink made background. Some leafy sprigs and cute Stamplorations bird and sentiment and the card is done.
T
For my second card I used a die cut circle to create the colourful spotlight with Gelatos and then stamped a cool swirl. Just finished the card with a few sequins and a butterfly

Thanks for taking a peek, now pop over to Stamplorations blog and join in this fortnights sketch. Robyn

a little birdie told me...

Had a lovely day  Saturday with my stamping friend Vikki and made this card.  I created the background with an embossing folder on bright green - why I chose that colour I don't know, definitely not me so I took to it with sandpaper and then coloured over it with Fired Brick Distress ink then sanded it again and attacked it with Spiced Marmalade D Ink, and finally gave it a spritz with Mister Huet's 'Shine' mist. Just a couple of sentiment blocks and this really cute little bird from Stamplorations.  I'm posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge.- Make your own Background, and Stamplorations April challenge - Stamps and Numbers.

Friday Smiles

Tonight I'd just like to share a few photos I've just snapped of our gorgeous Sophie...we have just arrived this afternoon (a 9 1/2 hour drive back to our house in Townsville again and for me 2 weeks visiting with our kids while hubby works away).
They came over for dinner and little miss thought she'd help feed the cat.
And then being an inquisitive miss she turned on the tap of the water cooler (white object in pic) and splashed a bit of water on the floor -  she was a bit concerned as she knows it's slippery. So I got some paper towel and she mopped it up....quite thoroughly actually.

So I am  looking forward to spending some time with her and our two kids and also in my garden.
Do hope you've had a wonderful week and if you'd like to share with us, pop over to Annies blog and join in.  Hugs and happy Friday Robyn
