Have a Cool Birthday

For my 'BIRTHDAY' card for the Double 'D' challenge I spotted the watermelon cake and fabulous bright pinks and was inspired to create this card featuring juicy slices of watermelon - stamped and water coloured with Twinkling H2Os - so they 'glisten' like a fresh slice, and then fussy cut.  From my stash of smooched backgrounds this pink one suited perfectly and I finished the card with a stamped sentiment of bright pink, and die cut, with a white and green circle too - kind of matches with the watermelon theme. I am also playing along with CASology  Week 348  Shimmer.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping

The Road to a Friend's House is never Long

I did manager to find a house stamp in my stash to go along with this fabulous sentiment .. it's so true.  I stamped, embossed and coloured my little shack with Distress Inks then masked off a path and sponged that too - I tried to give it a rough finish with a stencil, sort of worked and then decided to add some mini flowers and butterflies.  I am playing along at CASolgy #254 - this weeks theme is House.  Thanks for taking a peek

Rainy Day Fun

This morning I've finished off my House Mouse and Friends card - HMFMC192 - the theme is April Showers - aren't they the cutest umbrellas and don't we all love to stand in the rain and get a little bit wet especially when it hasn't rained for months.
I created the background panel using mists and stencils and then not having any rainbow card I made this panel with my distress Inks and paintbrush so I'm also playing along with Time Out challenges #29 with my rainbow and as this is an 'Ombre' effect I'm posting to CAS.ology Week 143 as well.  Friday Mashup #206 - Singing in the Rain  also have a wonderful prompt photo with 'Umbrellas' as a theme.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Fairy Wishes

Yesterday I found this lonely little rose fairy in my pre -stamped drawer and decided she needed some colour.....I used bright spring colours to make a happy card for a little girl. I coloured her with Distress Inks, put glitter glue on her wings and layered it onto two shade of yellow card and finished her off with a lovely organza bow, gems and sentiment. I'm playing along with CAS.olog - Blossom, Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Spring inspired  photo and Penny Black & More... March challenge - Blossoms and Bows.

Live for Today, Dream of Tomorrow

ooooh dear I am a floral lady, just love flowers, so couldn't not post a card to these two challenges... CAS.ology - Blossom  and The Paper Players PP236 - Clean and Simple: Floral.
As this is a NBUS (new) stamp which I'm really liking - I'm joining Darnell and NBUS#4,... I just stamped and colored with Distress Inks and washed the background in very pale blue and drew a frame around it.  A simple layer of designer paper and a black banner finishes the card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Dream and Discover

I've made my card with a beach scene for the Cue Card - Tropical over at CAS.ology week 137.
I used Distress Inks to create the beach landscape and added sea foam with a white gel pen. Then I stamped the palm trees by adding marker colour direct to the stamp and embossed it in clear to lift it off the card a bit. I found I had a bucket and spade die so cut them and then fashioned a sand castle with DI. Finished the card by adding a bright blue layer and a sentiment I decided to split in the corner. Wishing You a Happy Christmas tag

My last effort for today is a Festive Tag for the CASology challenge and I've used the colour photo at Fusion Card Challenge as my palette. I inked and stamped off this Christmas tree twice and then a third time to get a graduation in colour, then I added a stamped sentiment and a few gems. I had made the back tag previously as a sample tryout for stamping and embossing in white and watercolouring in Ombre effect for the Fusion challenge, so it suited nicely to attach to my top tag with some threads like CASology DT member Meghan suggested.
Along with the girls at CASology I am inspired by Traceys 25 Days of Christmas Tags, where she is featuring guest artists to inspire her with their tag creations.

Love my Cat

A quick card from me late yesterday, too dark to photograph....I'm posting it to the CASology week 104 challenge - the theme is Pet. Also to ColourQ #250 where I've opted to add one spot colour, pinkish terracotta, to the base black and white. Don't you just love this stamp - stamps up so well and I've had it for years.  My card is pretty straight forward CAS and I've added some scored lines for fun. We've recently adopted two kitties, they are brothers and thankfully they get on really well...so this card is appropriate for me. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday to You

SOS #152: Happy Birthday To Us!!!!

I love this Penny Black - Tulip stamp and sadly don't use it enough...I was playing around with markers directly onto the stamp, then stamped onto damp cardstock and lastly a very fine water spray which had the ink run a littl -. and came up with this effect which I really like. I'm playing along with three challenges - CAS-UAL Fridays CFC131: Three Thirds, CAS.ology: Week 96, Flowers, and over at Shopping Our Stash #152 they are celebrating their 3rd Birthday today - so a very big congratulations to the DT at SOS.

Just a Note

This card is made with a friend in mind with these colours and flowers. I've used the layout at Friday Mashup 156, they are also asking for an Ombre background, and the photo inspiration at Fusion with the flowers in mind.  I love creating my own card backgrounds - for this one I just gave the watercolour card a washing with three colours of Twinkling H2Os, so it has a bit of a sparkle.  The centre panel of the card has been in my drawer for some time-it is the packaging from a stamp purchase and I kept it knowing I'd try to incorporate it into a card...I finished it with a sentiment banner and a spray of paper flowers.  The card also fits with the theme at CAS-ology week 91 -"Note", but I see it has already closed, never mind. Have a Great Day

I do like Clean and Simple and sometimes to get ones mojo going it's great to tackle a quick card. I've made this card today for the CAS-ology Week 84 challenge - Paint. I  just taped off a section of watercolour card and sponged on two distress inks and then stamped the silhouette branch and sentiment - I like how it turned out..  Below I've included a couple of pics on a hint I saw ages ago but use it all the time to adhere my layers straight.  Just pull a small amount of backing tape from the double sided tape on opposite corners and use the other corners to align the layer - I hate it when they mount crocked.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Gone fishin'

Oh boy ... another male, that's a bit scary from me... and I've combine three challenges again.  The layout from Crazy 4 Challenges C4C233 and the colour palette from Color Throwdown ctd280 and then the theme "Jump" for CAS-ology.  I did have my fish and sentiment already stamped in my collected of prestamped images - just a quick paint job with my aquabrush and distress ink pads...they come in handy now and again.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Hubby and I don't really go in for the Valentines Day thing but as he's going to be away working I thought I'd just make him a card ... just to let him know how much I love him.
For the CASology Week 81 challenge  we need to use the word - AND and Shopping Our Stash #137 the theme is Love.

Just Because

At my desk is the best place to be today....it's raining and blowing a gale outside; side affects from the tropical cyclone that crossed the coast about 400 kms north of here, I'm not complaining at all as they desperately need rain in inland QLD. My card today could be sent for any occasion and  being purple for the Week 80 CAS.ology challenge, wasn't a problem it's one of my fav colours. I've also tried using my border dies as well as an IBS die and sentiment stamp. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

V for Vixen

limedoodleKPrudolphHi happy card makers....here's my latest card, I made it yesterday at friend Vikki's craft space, thanks again Vikki for sharing your stuff; I love being here to spend time with Sophie our new granddaughter but do miss my hubby and desk.
Anyway I saw this tag yesterday at Debby's blog and loved it's simple design so here's my version. Using Brown colours for CAS.ology challenge and making a "Tag" card for Tuesday Throwdown #172, I like it also as a "Card for Men" in the October  at Sweet Stampin Christmas and "V for Vixen" over at ABC Christmas challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek and have a super weekend
