Happy Birthday

Oh I am enjoying being back at my desk after the Festive Season....so nice to relax with a paint brush and a stamped image....for this card I have experimented a bit with layers.... for the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge for January and as I have also been using my Twinkling H2Os to colour the image I am posting also to the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge.  I used a Cherry Pie Dylusions Spray on a stencil and then used the negative with an extra mist of water to create this background....welllll it was way toooo bright so out came the white gesso and that's much better. Then I randomly stamped script over the  panel in grey Distress Ink when it was dry and layered this onto a pink panel. I used Twinkling H2Os to colour the stamped image and also stamped the sentiment and mounted these with 3D tape and to finish I added a small bow.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Mothers' day

I have used this floral stamp from the Tulip Bouquet set from Inspired by Stamping to make my "Spring" themed card for Mothers' Day which is next weekend here in Australia. I watercoloured it and then die cut it to for the center piece overlaying a die cut lattice with mauve card to to highlight the cuts and edge.  A stamped tag, bow and pearls finish off the card - I do think my MIL is going to really like this (she's just had her 90th birthday). I am posting to Inspired by Stamping WEEKLY CARD/PROJECT SHARE THREAD April 25TH ~ This Week’s Prompt ~ SPRING THEME. Also at Crazy 4 Challenges C4C #333 the theme is Spring. And finally I'm posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Sending a Smile your way

April Happy Little Stampers CASE the Designer challenge  ... well the minute I saw Joyce's gorgeous card for this months challenge I knew I wanted to CASE her card - I love the white on white with the lovely pop of pink of her rose... so I chose a bouquet from Inspired by Stamping and some bright Brusho colours. But mine definitely looked dull so I added the layer of yellow and finished off with a sentiment and fussy cut butterfly.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just for You

Today I am finishing off another card in progress - for Inspired by All the Little Things #2.
These summery colours of the inspiration photo suited this floral stamp from IBS - then a simple layering onto patterned paper and die cut to form a frame.

Embrace Life

This morning I really had the urge to make a card and as we had been playing with watercolours last weekend I wanted to also experiment with using the Magical Micas as paints.  I stamped these lovely Inspired by Stamping Aster flowers in Versamark and clear embossed them on watercolour paper - well that made it difficult to see the outline (so maybe next time a very pale grey might be the go). Then I wet the first flower and tried sprinkling on the fine powder - it didn't work at all well so I went with the powder on a palette and mixed it before painting - I tried not to be to pedantic about keeping in the lines - I love these colours and how they've turned out; they are all shimmery too. Finally when it was dry I used Evergreen Bough Distress Ink to smooch in the watery background and stamped on a Stamplorations sentiment.  I am posting to Stamplorations New Stamp Release and also to Stamplorations October challenge Stamps and Fave Colour Combo. Watercolour Waterlily

The final card I started on Saturday with the Brushos... I decided to stamp the Inspired by Stamping Waterlily image and emboss it with pearl gold before I coloured it with the Brushos.  To achieve this you first paint the are you are working on (eg the petals) with water and then sprinkle a few grains of Brushos pigment of and watch it spread...I moved the colour about with a water loaded brush...you need to be patient and make sure the painted area is dry before you continue. To finish I 'swam' in some blue to create the watery background.  I am posting to Tuesday Throwdown #266 - Watercolor and to Virginia's View #19 - All Things Coloured.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

This morning I have found time to make a card while the washing load finishes...so I have tried to combine all three elements for this months Inspired by Stamping challenge IBSIC 98.  I have used the layout, sequins and the colour theme. I have also used IBS stamps - the flower image and script stamped in brown ink are from the Friends Forever set and sentiment from Mother's Day Bouquet set.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

It's so nice to be spending some time with friend Vikki in her craft room, she's been away for weeks and my mojo away too. Today I finally finished my card - I had previously found time to 'paint' my white embossed Inspired by Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Die Crazy: to use die cuts, also to Addicted to Stamps and More - 'Make your Mark - with paints, markers, and to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes.  I do enjoy painting with Distress Inks and find it relaxing - Joanna at Inspired by Stamping has a tutorial to help with painting flowers.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just for You

Today I have enjoyed making a card with my new Inspired by Stamping poppy stamp with some helpful hints from Joanna's new video tutorial.  The image was inked and stamped with antique linen distress ink and then water coloured with distress markers.  Finished with a IBS sentiment and the edge of the panel distressed by running the ink pad along the edge and attaching to the base card with foam tape.  I am posting my card to Stamplorations August month challenge using the theme - Stamps and Watercolour.  Thanks for taking a peek

This morning I have enjoyed making this card...it is relaxing to colour images, and here I've used Distress Inks and the for glittery clock and edge my Twinkling H2Os and the gold edging is with Magical Micas.  I've made my card for the Simon Says Monday challenge - Coffee or Tea?... of course I enjoy both. And I have used the colour palette from Inspired by Stamping IBSIC #95.  Mounted on some co-coordinating layers and a few gems to finish the card. Thanks for taking a peek

A Friend is the Nicest Thing...

This afternoon my card incorporates an 'embossed' disc which I created by adding some Gelatos to the embossing folder before I ran it through my Cuttlebug, then sprayed it with some water and moved the colours with a paint brush. I die cut a circle to feature the flower and inked the edge. I'm posting to the Just Us Girls - Trend Week #292 - Embossing. Also I have used the Sketch at Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#93 for my layout. Finished the card with a feature sentiment and a few pieces of mother of pearl shell.

Have a Lovely Birthday

I was taken with Joanna's gorgeous waterlily card (below) and because I love painting with my Distress Inks I have made this birthday card for Mynn's 'Birthday Today' and her Birthday Bash Giveaway. I have tried mainly to use the colour palette for Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#93 challenge
