Just a Note

...well hello again with another card. I'm not going to be able to make cards for a few weeks while we head north to organise our gear for the removalists next week.  Here's my cheery card for the Dynamic Duos DD#44 colour challenge - yellow and black with ribbon, I've used the layout at the Paper Players PP#137.  Thanks for taking a peek

Unwrap a special day

OOOOWW!!! I'm making a second card on a Monday:-)    I love the colours at Annabelle Stamps colour challange  ac158 - choosing the watermelon colour was a challenge in itself and then this morning I see Retro Sketches rs#55 layout and there you go - I'd already die cut the borders and ribbon just matched fabulously.  Thanks for taking a peek

It's the little things

Hi from me on a rather windy but sunny day ....I've been wanting to submit a card to the Card chain challenge at Society of Stampaholics for some time now so here's my card for March ..I'm just going to make it in time...I've used a combination of the themes they had for inspiration.  Thanks for taking a peek

that's more like it ...what a difference

A square card this afternoon for Paper Craft Crews #33 card sketch - and now that we are at our new address I can post off some of my cards to friends and family....the pile is growing.  (Still not at all happy with the photo colours... :-(    Thanks for taking a peek

a little greeting

It's been a while since I tackled a 10 minute Craft Dash challenge but thought I'd have a go at this weeks #13 with craft, green and brown help I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #77.  I'm a bit rusty it took me 11 minutes 25 sec to do this one - my ricrac came unstuck as I was about to stick the layers onto the card but at least it got me going this afternoon I was feeling a bit tired after a busy day yesterday painting out the inside of the cupboards to freshen them up.  Thanks for taking a peek

Thinking of You

I've enjoyed a lazy day today and slowly this afternoon this card came together - so  slowly that I've missed posting it to the Colour Throwdown CTD232 challenge anyway I've used the soft colours and the layout at Retro Sketches rs#54 .... I'm not liking the colours on my new camera though mmmm have to ask my son about it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

AND include at least one piece of METAL EMBELLISHMENT.

Another gorgeous day here in Central Queensland - this morning I was determined to set up my table and unload all my stamping gear from the caravan so I could make my first card in our new home... it's a start, I have a nice view from my window and I can wait a few more weeks for all our belongings to arrive.
I decided to do the challenge at Our Creative Corner because I just love the lantern in the inspirational photo - my photo colours are out a bit as my patterned paper is more green than blue.  I love the metal button I found in my stash and the sentiment is true... new town, a place to meet new friends.  Hope you're enjoying your week and thanks for taking a peek.

Celebrate your Birthday

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 92: Border Punches

Hello from me this Monday morning ....moving day today - we've found a house to rent in Yeppoon, QLD and until our furniture arrives we will live in the van at the property...yippee!!!
So my card this morning fills four challenges..
First the layout from Seize the Birthday STB#9 and the colours from Dynamic Duos DD#43
And over at Shopping Our Stash 92 - Border Punches - last night I was thinking about making a dress using the border dies and a heart cutout - so I layered them up with some ribbon and finished the top off with some bling .... the request at a new blog challenge site for me - Craft your Passion challenge 152 asked you to use an odd number of embellishments...and here's my feminine birthday card with a background created with Shabby Shutters and Broken China distress inks.
Have a super week and Thanks for taking a peek

Sending you a smile

Well this afternoon I'm happily back Skyping with friend Vikki (at least we're in the same time zone now, only 720kms away) and enjoying the company of the native birds in our park who have become some friends they feel they can hop on up into the caravan looking for food, they're chatting away so loudly Vikki can hear them.....lorikeets, butcher birds, magpies, blue faced honey eaters and noising minor birds.  Anyway I've made a card using the layout at Freshly Made Sketches 76 and the colours from Pals Paper Arts PPA154 challenge - putting raspberry and coral together proved a challenge. Thanks for taking a peek

Framed birthday wish

Happy weekend blog visitors - my first card today is for The Shabby Tea Rooms week#156 'Frame It' challenge. I love white on whites so I had to have a go at this card. I used a couple of spellbinders to create the frame and colour embossed it with swiss dots and used a soft aqua as the one colour for this feminine birthday card. My lovely bow and button embellishment also fits with the challenge over at Divas by design - Buttons and Bows  Thanks for taking a peek

You're Sew Special

I recently picked up a set of stamps with the sewing theme so they were very appropriate for the Paper Player pp135 theme challenge "In stitches" so I teamed it up with the layout at  Annabelle Stamps ac157. The earthy colours were a real challenge for me too but it came about when I selected the background design paper - I do enjoy sewing but sadly I haven't done any for a long time...sewing machine needs to come out of storage!!  Thanks for taking a peek

With Love

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 91: Tag it- create a tag or use one on your project!

Hi from my tiny table, sheltering in here (the caravan) from the terrible wind outside at least the rain has eased....and I'm so pleased to have found some mojo - today the colours and sketch came together for me and I've have this shabby kinda tag card.  Used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#53 and the palette from Color Throwdown CTD231. And over at Shopping Our Stash #91they asked for a tag so I used a tag as my focal point and dressed it up with some handmade flowers and lace.  Thanks for taking a peek

Lots of candles

Hello happy stampers from my tiny table here in our caravan...yippee finally at last we've arrived in Rockhampton, QLD. And so starts the next chapter in our lives....spent the last two days checking out rental properties and today Stephen has gone off to do some work so I've dug out my bit and pieces from under the bed to make a card. Here's my effort at a male (junior) card for Seize the Birthday STB#8 and a card bearing a birthday cake in colours Red, Blue and Yellow for Our Creative Corner - It's my Birthday challenge....used a cuttlebug die and embossing set to layer up this cake - bit fiddly making flames.
