Enjoy the Little Things

We've had a couple days of sunshine, so got caught up with the washing BUT the rain is back and there's a cyclone some distance north of us that has been downgraded but we will feel it's presence with more rain and wind... never mind, I'm inside making cards.. couldn't be happier.
I used the colours at Just Add Ink #438 - pink, green and my colour choice - yellow and then the layout from Freshly Made Sketches #367.  Stamped and watercoloured my floral image with markers scribbled on the plastic sheet and picked up with a damp brush. Used a stitched die to cut round the image and layered this onto a green DP... I liked the wording on this piece so chose my sentiment to suit - stamped and die cut with a stitched circle and mounted with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year.

Just for You

I stamped these flowers in reverse, starting with the red centers because I wanted to get the black outline to show.... I did a bit of masking and drew on the stems with marker.  Then some more masking to added my stamped red hatching along the left side and finally stamped the sentiment. Framed my stamped panel with red onto a black card.   I have used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #331 and the colour palette from Shopping Our Stash SOS34 - Black, White and my colour Red.   Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Birthday Wishes

Some time to myself today and I've watercoloured this Power Poppy Orchid, using the colour palette from Power Poppy Hues to Use - Maroon, Salmon Pink and Olive Green.  I also used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches FMS#330.  I fussy cut my image and in my stash found a strip of Distress Oxides for the background. I decided to add a die cut scribble behind my image which I mounted with foam tape.  Then to finish stamped my sentiment on a die cut label and sponged the edge.  I used a spotty embossing folder to change the card base from just plain and I really like how it has come up.  I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers April Watercolour challenge - Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

A quick card from me this afternoon, using some 'experiments' from my stash.  The background was created with Distress Oxides and the stamped image water coloured with Distress Inks.  My stamped sentiment completes my card using the layout this week at Freshly Mades Sketches #326.

Birthday Wishes

Well my little chargers (grand daughters) have gone home today after a sleepover, and I found a few quiet moments to complete this card, using bits from my stash.  I created my background for this weeks Simon Says Wednesday challenge, with a stencil and masking areas and sponging wet colour using Distress Inks, - then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with my dotty border die and back the area with mauve coloured card - which I think has created a sort of Polka Dot effect for the City Crafters current challenge Week 400.
My layout is loosely following the Freshly Made Sketches #325 - in reverse, replacing the star with my die cut flower and the round sentiment with my rectangle.

Best Wishes to Someone Special

For this card I used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #306 and the colour palette from Power Poppy - Hues to Use... Pink, Beige, Green.  I stamped and embossed my image with Pearl Gold - it didn't look too crash hot so I over stamped it with brown Distress Ink after I water coloured it with Brushos. Then I overstamped with a script stamp in Antique Linen Distress Ink. I framed the panel with beige card and used pale green and pink strips for the layout and attached these over a base panel of Designer Paper.  To finish I inked the edge of my stamped sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek.

 

We meet no ordinary people in our lives

Shopping Our Stash SOS318 challenge this week is to make a card displaying our favourite season... well I just love all the seasons but I especially miss Autumn and Spring as we live in the sub tropical and I grew up in southern Australia with four seasons, so my card today is to celebrate Autumn. I really love the colours the leaves turn and then fall to the ground in masses so you can shuffle your feet - my mum would even enclose autumn leaves in her letters to me.
For my card I made a strip using alcohol inks and then bordered it with a strip of yellow before attaching to a lovely lime green card. Then used a recently made sample with alcohol inks in autumn shades to die cut some leaves.  I sponged dark ink through the die to outline the veins and then arranged them in a group at the top and added one to the edge of my stamped sentiment.  I have used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #303 for my card.  Thanks for taking a peek

It's Your Birthday...

Happy to be making another card for House Mouse and Friends challenge HMFMC#245 - Let's Get Some Berries.   First off the berries were a problem.. no HM stamps with any sort of berry... but on checking my few stamps thought I could mask out the 'chocolate mousse' on the ice cream container and just hand write in 'strawberry'...  so that's what I've done, then coloured the image with Distress Inks to match some old patterned paper I found in my stash.  Then I discovered a mini strawberry stamp, so I stamped and fussy cut a few to add to my card.  To finish I mounted the image panel on a layer of red and stamped some sentiments and used the stitched die cut  tag to give them so shape. I am also playing along with Freshly Made Sketches #FMS297 using the layout. Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

This week at Freshly Made Sketches they are celebrating 200 sketches - congratulations team, a super effort of inspiring the card making community with your fabulous cards now for 200 sketches....all 11 girls cards this week are sensational...so different and creative.
So I've made a Christmas card as my effort using this weeks sketch. This gorgeous Santa stamp has given me heaps of trouble trying to get a good print but this time using my roller I think he has turned out fantastic.  I left a white border around the image when I trimmed it and layered him on matching card stock.  Then just used two different font dies to create my sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

This afternoon for my card I have used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #197 and the palette at Fab Friday #69.  I hunted through my stash of designer paper and decided to use this blackberry coloured piece and immediately thought of this floral stamp from Chocolate Baroque that I thought would kind of match the paper design.  I stamped and coloured the image with Twinkling H2Os and die cut an oval. Then I embossed a strip of bluey green card and layered it onto white and assembled my elements to the layout. Then finished off with a simple stamped sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek

Well today I have enjoyed being home and back at my desk...
...sorted out my gear and even found time to make this card between the washing and shopping.
I've used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #190 and the photo inspiration at Inkspirational.
I used a stencil sprayed background and a strip of DP. Then stamped and water coloured the image and die cut it into an oval shape. Finished off the edge with sponged ink and a sentiment layered on a banner. Thanks for taking a peek

 

Hello Sweet Friend

A late card today for Freshly Made Sketches #175. 

I love this silhouette bird cage stamp and recently my friend gave me this wooden cage so I thought it might fit in with the theme, I also found I had a matching bird and rather than paint them black I decided to add another beige layer under the top panel. Then I finished off the card with a ribbon and bow and small sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
