Love

I have a simple CAS style Valentines card today -- for my hubby....
I sprinkled peony scarlet Magical Micas over my large heart/love script stencil, and lightly sprayed with water.  I didn't quite lift the stencil quick enough so some areas are a bit washed out - still I love the shimmer of these powders.  The heart is a little too large for a card so I used a die to re-size it and simply added it to a red square card and to finish - just the right stamped sentiment for us.

I am playing along with CAS Stencil February challenge -- Powdered Inks, and also CAS Watercolour February challenge. - Pink and Red theme, also Inkspirational challenge #180 - Text , and The Card Concept #108 - Love is in the Air.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy Valentines day

Love a Rainy Day, it makes me Smile

This Rainy Day card came about because last week I was my brayer, embossing folders and Distress Oxide ink...the coral colours.... well I'm not one to waste the ink so I ended up with a few EF images and then there was still ink on the brayer so I misted card with water and quickly ran the brayer down and it left these great water drips...
Hence when I spotted the Inkspirational challenge 158 - with a Rain Photo, I had to give it a go again with blue ink.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut my puppy image and the same with the umbrella.  Then I scrounged through my sentiment and letter stamps and came up with my sentiment... I decided to stamp it onto a separate raindrop sheet as I was confident enough to do it straight on the card panel... I cut out the sentiment and used a marker around the edge. I used foam tape to mount the sentiment and puppies.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Serenity.....

I've had this Artistic Outpost stamp for quite a while and it has been used much but I love it.... and when I saw that Inkspirational challenge #138 - Word Prompt this week is "RURAL", I knew it was perfect for me...
I just love the countryside, my sister lives in the farming hills near Gympie and I find it so peaceful when we visit. I made a couple of cards as I find so easy seeing as you've already inked up the stamp. So I just found a couple of Distress Inked smooched backgrounds in my stash and using the Misti makes it easy with a block silhouette like this stamp if you're a bit light on the ink in places.  On the blue one I just added an extra sentiment to finish. And for the other you'll see added some extra black pen lines so hide the 'squared' look and then to finish added a die cut leaf.  Thanks for taking a peek

You & Me the Perfect Blend

Oh I do enjoy a cup of tea especially in a nice china cup and saucer..  so I'm happy to post my card today with the inspiration from Fusion Card challenge - Pretty in Pink.  I used both the sketch and photo for inspiration... including cups and an embossed back panel.  I stamped and embossed my image in gold and used Distress Inks to colour it and then fussy cut it out.  I found this pink background in my stash made with stencils and DI and light stamping in slightly darker pink...I stamped on my sentiment and attached the cups with 3D tape. I am also posting to Inkspirational challenge #129 with word prompt - Connect.... no nicer way to spend a few moments than with a friend over a cuppa.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just a Quick Note..

I've returned today with another card using the embossing and brayering technique.... after putting the white card through the cuttlebug with this embossing folder I ran over it with an inked brayer to colour the raised image. Then I stamped and embossed the vase onto orange card, fussy cut it and die cut the two pieces of foliage - I tried lining up the stamped image with the die but that didn't work so I just sponge green on the cuts. Mounted these with foam tape and finished with a layered sentiment.  I'm posting to Simon Says Monday challenge - Love this Technique, Simon Says Wednesday - use die cuts on your card and to Inkspirational colour challenge Orange/Green.  Thanks for taking a peek

Joy

Here's my attempt at 'Gunge' Christmas.... I find this fabulous stocking really hard to colour, so with the prompt from Inkspirational #86 - Grunge, I thought I'd just smooch some Distress Ink over the image. I did use a small acrylic cube so I could position the colours in certain area a bit. Then I did touch up some spots, like the green strips with a paint brush.  Wasn't sure if this would pass for grunge so I tore the bottoms of the two layers and inked the edges a bit more. I am also going to post to Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Extra July challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for taking a peek

Share with a Friend

Today I have had my Twinkling H2Os out and colouring in these "Wild" Kingfishers...lol
Anyway ...I have used one of my backgrounds created with a favourite technique...applying Distress Inks and then overspraying with Perfect Pearls Mist...which gives it a gorgeous soft shiny finish, then I added some stamped leaves to frame it. Next I used my favourite product...Twinkling H2Os, to colour my image/s (I decided one just needed a friend and that solved my sentiment problem) - I just love the bright shiny colours and that you can mix them to create your own shades. Finished the card with a sentiment and a few fussy cut leaves.  I am posting to Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Favourite Technique or Product and to Inkspirational..with their theme WILD....I think my Kingfishers could be classified as wild. And I am CASEing Deepti's cool bird card for the CASEplorations June challenge and as I have also used Stamplorations stamps - birds and leaves I am posting to Stamplorations - Anything goes challenge. Thanks for taking a peek

ps Sorry about my dark photos, sadly my camera hasn't been returned yet

Best Wishes on Your Birthday

Well today I have enjoyed being home and back at my desk...
...sorted out my gear and even found time to make this card between the washing and shopping.
I've used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #190 and the photo inspiration at Inkspirational.
I used a stencil sprayed background and a strip of DP. Then stamped and water coloured the image and die cut it into an oval shape. Finished off the edge with sponged ink and a sentiment layered on a banner. Thanks for taking a peek

Best wishes

Another super pre stamped image in my stash drawer this week has come in handy for this weeks challenge at Inkspirational #78 - image of a woman. Doesn't she look stylish in her "flapper" (cloche) hat. So I decided just to colour her hat and play with two challenges asking for Black and White and my choice of one other colour.....Just Us Girls #285 and Time Out Challenges #27. I have used the sketch at Fusion Card Challenge for my layout.

Life brings simple pleasures

Hi there today.... I have been playing with my stencils for the ARTplorations bloghop over at Stamplorations and created this background piece, cut from a larger sheet - the zigzag pattern is using distress inks directly over the stencil and the letters top right are coloured texture paste. There is other stencil work but it is hard to see as it fades into the background and I've stamped a few script spots and my flower twice to give the effect of a few flowers. I finished the card with this super Stamp-It sentiment and die cut it to fit and added a sprinkle of tiny glitter spots from that little bottle.  I've also used the colour palette at Just Add Ink challenge #254 - really love these soft colours for a floral theme and with my sprinkling of tiny glitter I'm also posting to Inkspirational #77 challenge and Scrapbook Fantasies #8/2015 - Stenciling

Happy Mothers' Day

Another Mothers' Day card this afternoon for my stash to the Aussie troops.
I enjoyed using this technique (easy triple time stamping) last week so had another go today, Stamped the green swirls and then the roses in two shades of pink over the two panels and mounted them both of pink panels. Stamped and fussy cut one rose and stamped the sentiment on a fancy die cut label and attached with 3D foam tape. Using my rose stamp and pink colours I'm posting to the Inkspirational challenge #75. Peace

"ALL Things Metallic" ... well in the end this card ended up as ALL metallic.
It seems I just couldn't get away from an ornament for the Metallic theme and of course I can always do with another Christmas card.  I stamped this Chocolate Baroque bauble in weathered wood distress ink and then water colored it with Twinkling H2Os (metallic lustre). Then to help the snowflake standout more I went over it with silver gelly roll pen. Then I die cut a snowflake in silver paper and it just so happened to match perfectly with the stamped image - spruced it up with so glitter glue and a few blue gems and splattered a few blue water spots over the empty white space.  Then I layered the white card on soft metallic grey and dark navy metallic card stock and onto a white card base. I finished the card with a simple Kaisercraft sentiment and a grey metallic satin bow.  (The top photo is truer to the colour, but a bit dark)....ALL Metallic, and Grey/Silver, Blue and an Ornament for Merry Monday and shiny for Inkspirational.
