Birthday Wishes

Some time to myself today and I've watercoloured this Power Poppy Orchid, using the colour palette from Power Poppy Hues to Use - Maroon, Salmon Pink and Olive Green.  I also used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches FMS#330.  I fussy cut my image and in my stash found a strip of Distress Oxides for the background. I decided to add a die cut scribble behind my image which I mounted with foam tape.  Then to finish stamped my sentiment on a die cut label and sponged the edge.  I used a spotty embossing folder to change the card base from just plain and I really like how it has come up.  I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers April Watercolour challenge - Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Happy Birthday

I found some "after baby-sitting girls" time to water colour this image I had in my already stamped stash and chose to use the palette at Power Poppy's Hues to Use this week..  I always find then the problem of mounting my image panel to 'show it off'... and after some digging I found this grey spotted DP, that worked with a pink embossed panel with the pinks in the image. I framed the spotty panel with a fine black border and also the image in grey.  To finish I stamped my sentiment and attached it with foam tape.

Happy Wishes

For my tulip scene card I have used the lovely colours at Power Poppy's Hues to Use this week.  I did a fair bit of masking and stamping and water coloured my flowers with a mix of left over inks on my plastic palette. Then sponged in some sky and stamped some background bushes and a tree branch.  I framed it up and added a raised stamped sentiment.
I am also posting to Watercooler Wednesday - Anything Goes - Feminine, also Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Girl Power, and Addicted to Stamps and More - Make your mark.

Best Wishes to Someone Special

For this card I used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #306 and the colour palette from Power Poppy - Hues to Use... Pink, Beige, Green.  I stamped and embossed my image with Pearl Gold - it didn't look too crash hot so I over stamped it with brown Distress Ink after I water coloured it with Brushos. Then I overstamped with a script stamp in Antique Linen Distress Ink. I framed the panel with beige card and used pale green and pink strips for the layout and attached these over a base panel of Designer Paper.  To finish I inked the edge of my stamped sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Birthday

For my card today I have used the colours at Power Poppy - Hues to Use (ongoing inspiration)... three shades of blue. I used Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to stamp my image 'off the edge' and also to colour the image.  I added some white highlights with gel pen and then cut and layered the two image panels to create a double fold card.  To finish I stamped and silver embossed my sentiment and added a few scattered gems.  I am also posting to Watercooler Wednesday challenge #WWC136 - All About Birthdays and The Flower Challenge #12 - Tic Tac Toe... I am playing the left vertical - Embossing, Gems, White.   Thanks for taking a peek

Rosy - Hello there

Today I am honoured to be Guest Card Maker to Power Poppy's - Hues to Use
and here is this weeks colour palette...

I've made two card using the 'Everything Rosy' digi set.
This is my first time ever using a digital image for my card - I resized the image and erased some of the rose overlapping the mug so I would have two separate outlines.  After printing the image on white card I decided to use my Brushos for watercolour, so I could mix the colours to suit the palette, then I did a wide cut around it and drew in the bottom of the mug with fine black pen.

I wanted to keep the design clean and soft, and thought this lattice die cut frame was all I needed - backed with pale lilac onto a white card.
To finish I used an oval die to cut around my re-sized sentiment and added a few mini pearls.
For my second card I used the other part of my printed image and decided to go a bit bolder with the colours.  I watercoloured the image and fussy cut the top edge and for some reason I left the bottom of it squared off.  Then what to do???  Out come heaps of different shade of card - I'm terrible for trying to match colours and found this 'burnt orange' piece that I decided to run through the Cuttlebug with the swiss dots embossing folder - which I sanded - this broke up the flat colour a bit - and pulled together the white layer and bold white corner.
I hand dyed the ribbon with Distress Ink and added the bow to the bottom before attaching it to a mustard coloured card.  To finish I re-sized the sentiment, die cut it and used foam tape to mount it offset on the card.
I'm really happy with my two very different cards and have enjoyed test myself with the colours of this weeks Hues to Use...  If you're needing to be inspired pop over to Power Poppy's blog and check out the Hues to Use - they are each ongoing open so you can always share your efforts.

Happy Birthday

This afternoon I've made a birthday card using the sketch at Try Stamping on Tuesdays #333, and the colour palette from Power Poppy - Hues to Use - Red, White and Blue. I stamped and coloured my bouquet and an extra flower with Brushos and trimmed the panel to suit, then run a blue ink pad around the edge.  I selected some matching card and paper for the layout, stamped a sentiment and to finish  mounted my single flower with foam tape and added some white pearls.  I am also posting to Seize the Birthday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek
